  • This paper illuminates the philosophical meaning of appropriateness(中節) in Yi Yik(李瀷) and Shin Hudam(愼後聃)'s theories of moral emotion. According to this paper, there was a difficult problem in Toegye Yi Hwang (退溪 李滉)'s philosophy. That is, How we could regulate the relation between Four Beginnings(四端) and appropriate Seven Feelings(七情). Yi Yik tried to solve this problem by elucidating philosophical significances of appropriate Seven Feelings as it were, one hand, he approved the morality of appropriate Seven Feelings, and on the other hand, differentiated appropriate Seven Feelings from Four Beginnings. Thereby He achieved to explain this problem. His solution was dependent on the concept of 'impartial sympathic spectator' that he suggested. It is valuable that Yi Yik reexamined the ethical meaning of appropriateness. His pupil Shin Hudam, however, criticised Yi Yik's opinion and identified Four Beginnings with appropriate Seven Feelings. Shin Hudam deconstructed the conceptual scheme of moral emotion suggested by Yi Yik and regarded appropriate Seven Feelings as Four Beginnings. According to Shin Hudam, the concept of appropriate Seven Feelings designed by Yi Yik was very ambiguous, actually there was no any dividing line between Four Beginnings and appropriate Seven Feelings. Both are equally moral principle manifestation(理發)and moral public(公). Now old concept category of moral emotion(Sadan and Chiljeong) was disappeared and new concept category of moral emotion was appeared, that is public and private.

  • Emotion Recognition is one of the important part to develop in human-human and human computer interaction. In this paper, we have focused on the performance of multi-class SVM (Support Vector Machine) with Gaussian RFB (Radial Basis function) kernel, which has been used to solve the problem of emotion recognition from physiological signals and to improve the accuracy of emotion recognition. The experimental paradigm for data acquisition, visual-stimuli of IAPS (International Affective Picture System) are used to induce emotional states, such as fear, disgust, joy, and neutral for each subject. The raw signals of acquisited data are splitted in the trial from each session to pre-process the data. The mean value and standard deviation are employed to extract the data for feature extraction and preparing in the next step of classification. The experimental results are proving that the proposed approach of multi-class SVM with Gaussian RBF kernel with OVO (One-Versus-One) method provided the successful performance, accuracies of classification, which has been performed over these four emotions.

  • In this paper, we propose the new emotion recognition method for intelligently recognizing the human's emotion using the template vector and neural network. In the proposed method, human's emotion is divided into four emotion (surprise, anger, happiness, sadness). The proposed method is based on the template vector extraction and the template location recognition by using the color difference. It is not easy to extract the skin color area correctly using the single color space. To solve this problem, we propose the extraction method using the various color spaces and using the each template vectors. And then we apply the back-propagation algorithm by using the template vectors among the feature points). Finally, we show the practical application possibility of the proposed method.

  • In the task of continuous dimension emotion recognition, the parts that highlight the emotional expression are not the same in each mode, and the influences of different modes on the emotional state is also different. Therefore, this paper studies the fusion of the two most important modes in emotional recognition (voice and visual expression), and proposes a two-mode dual-modal emotion recognition method combined with the attention mechanism of the improved AlexNet network. After a simple preprocessing of the audio signal and the video signal, respectively, the first step is to use the prior knowledge to realize the extraction of audio characteristics. Then, facial expression features are extracted by the improved AlexNet network. Finally, the multimodal attention mechanism is used to fuse facial expression features and audio features, and the improved loss function is used to optimize the modal missing problem, so as to improve the robustness of the model and the performance of emotion recognition. The experimental results show that the concordance coefficient of the proposed model in the two dimensions of arousal and valence (concordance correlation coefficient) were 0.729 and 0.718, respectively, which are superior to several comparative algorithms.
