Methods: A total of 600 rescue logs were collected from major trauma patients transported by 119 paramedics in the C fire department from Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2017. And then, 280 questionnaires were collected from the 119 paramedics in C fire department from May 3 to Jun. 3, 2019. Data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 version. Results: Among 499 spinal motion restriction adaptive patients, the spinal motion restriction rate was 51.1% (255 individuals). Lack of human resources and quality control problems were among the obstacles to spinal motion restriction. Conclusion: The 119 paramedics should improve their activeness and skills in performing emergency care, and since training and experience are of crucial importance, they should expand various education systematized according to demand.

The study was basic materials are provided to identify differences in the knowledge, attitude and performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) depending on the characteristics of child care teachers, and to develop an education program that will enable you to improve your future CPR performance. Methods. This study was conducted on 147 child care teachers. The questionnaire of the previous study was corrected and 48 total questions were used. Using spss 22.0 frequency analysis, T-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were performed. Results. The knowledge level of 50s was higher those in their 20s. The higher the satisfaction level with education, the more positive was about CPR(p<.001). The more CPR training, the higher the performance(p<.01). The was a positive correlation between CPR attitude and performance ability(r=.355, p<.001). Conclusion. In order to have a positive influence on the CPR of child care teachers, the number of education should be increased and the level of education satisfaction should be managed to increase.

  • This study identified the perception and coping ability of an emergency involving the elderly for facility directors in charge of services in long-term care facilities, and used it as basic data for developing educational programs and policy data for improving the ability of emergency facilities. The subjects were 192 directors of elderly care facilities and home care centers. Data were collected from March 15 to April 20, 2019 and analyzed using the SPSS WIN 25.0 program. Data analysis was performed using t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Scheffe, and multiple linear regression. The results revealed 97.4% of emergency experience, 6.16 points of emergency perception, and 62% of correct answers, and coping ability of an emergency was 69.61 ± 13.537. The negative correlation between emergency experience and ability to cope with emergencies(r=-.202, p= .005) was the long-term care facility type(β = 8.253, p<.001). Overall, an education program considering the type of long-term care facility is needed when applying emergency education for facility directors.

  • In the recent years, an attempts have been made to convergence medical technology and IT technology to overcome the limitations of temporal, spatial in the medical technology applications. Emergency care is primarily intended to provide primary care and stabilization to the patient, thereby saving the patient's life and minimizing the risk until hospital care. In this study, we developed an application S/W to support emergency services for emergency medical services. Paramedics can easily keep a log of emergency activities and monitor the patient's condition in real time with this application S/W on smart devices. In particular, medical signals and information emergency status of emergency patients can be measured or photographs of affected areas can be taken. In addition, this report can be delivered to remote medical doctors for rapid emergency measures and immediate hospital response.

  • Conceptually, the emergency is classified as an urgency and an emergency. The Urgency is not immediately life threatening, but could become so if not resolved promptly. So, it requires prompt patient care same as in the emergency situation. However, the emergency is immediately life threatening and requires immediate action, such as calling 119 and basic life support. Most medical emergencies in the dental clinic cases are urgencies. The incidence of true emergencies is approximately 1/1,000,000. Adequate managing medical urgencies are important because the chance of encountering medical emergencies in the dental clinic is high and higher these days especially because of rapidly aging Korean society. Many dentists indicate that many dentists feel difficulties to recognize and treat medical problems. This paper reviews the concept of medical emergencies and how to cope with commonly occurring urgencies in the dental clinic such as loss of consciousness, hypoglycemia, hyperventilation syndrome. The best treatment for medical urgencies and emergencies in the dental clinic is prevention. Also, it is required to make preparation for emergency situations such as CPR education for dentists and being well-acquainted with equipment and drugs for the emergency care as well as to systemic medical evaluation, patient monitoring, and sedations for controlling patient's anxiety and pain. In this paper, simple algorithms based on guidelines for common urgencies in the dental clinic are suggested. In conclusion, every dentist has competencies to do the urgency care adequately and basic life support. Also, advanced cardiac life support is strongly recommended when sedation is performed in the clinic.

The data was analyzed using a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Scheffe tests. Results: The emergency experience was higher in the facilities group, (90.5% in the facilities group and 70.4% in the home group), and there was a significant difference between the groups (t=25.03, p<.001). First aid knowledge was 10.41±2.81 in the facilities and 9.70±2.97 points in the home group, showing a difference between the groups (t=2.40, p=.017). The emergency coping ability was 60.57±4.76 points in the facility group and 57.53±4.18 points in the home group, which was higher in the facility group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (t=6.53, p<.001). The emergency education demand was 98.6% for the facilities group. Conclusion: These results highlight the need to develop and apply case-based emergency education suitable for the characteristics of the service and reflecting the educational needs of each type of service.
