  • Composite slab with deckplate needs sufficient bond strength between deckplate and concrete to conduct composite behavior Composite slab can transfer the shear by either chemical adhesion interface interlock, or active friction. There are several way of mechanical shear connection in composite slab. that is embossments shear connector shape of deckplate etc. Effect of mechanical interaction is deped on shape of deckplate which is to prevent peeling between deckplate and concrete and an amount of shear connector. The behavior and strength of the connection between the decking and the concrete slab due to embossments and end anchorage may be estimated using the push-off tests described in this paper We proposed the equation of shear bond strength in the composite slab It will be use to design by basic data in composite slab.

  • To fabricate a (100) silicon hard master, we used anisotropic wet etching for the embossing. The etching chemical for the silicon wafer was a TMAH 25$\%$ solution. The anisotropic wet etching produces a smooth sidewall surface inclined at 54.7°, and the surface roughness of the fabricated master is about 1 nm. After spin coating an organic-inorganic sol-gel hybrid resin on a silicon substrate, we used the fabricated master to form patterns on the silicon substrate. Thus, we successfully obtained patterns via the hot embossing technique with the (100) silicon hard master. Moreover, by using a single hydrophobic surface treatment of the master, we succeeded in achieving uniform surface roughness of the embossed patterns for more than ten embossments.

  • This paper provides the results of the study on the structural behavior of the composite metal deck slab system. The experimental study on composite slabs with trapezoidal and inverse-triangle-top-flange deckplate result, it was found that the geometry of the cross-section was more important than any other factors to ensure the composite action of deck slabs. Hence the inverse-triangle-top-flange of closed box was more effective on the shear slip and deflection than the trapezoidal deck of open shape. These results show that the continuing development of composite deck plate must consider importantly the geometry of the deck. The experimental results were compared with established formulas and were analysed to advance a theory on composite slabs using deckplates.

  • Steel-concrete composite slabs with profiled steel sheeting are widely used in the execution of floors in steel and composite buildings. The rapid construction process, the elimination of conventional replaceable shuttering and the reduction of temporary support are, in general, considered the main advantages of this structural system. In slabs with the spans currently used, the longitudinal shear resistance commonly provided by the embossments along the steel sheet tends to be the governing design mode. This paper presents an innovative reinforcing system that increases the longitudinal shear capacity of composite slabs. The system is constituted by a set of transversal reinforcing bars crossing longitudinal stiffeners executed along the upper flanges of the steel sheet profiles. This type of reinforcement takes advantage of the high bending resistance of the composite slabs and increases the slab's ductility. Two experimental programmes were carried out: a small-scale test programme - to study the resistance provided by the reinforcing system in detail - and a full-scale test programme to test simply supported and continuous composite slabs - to assess the efficacy of the proposed reinforcing system on the global behaviour of the slabs. Based on the results of the small-scale tests, an equation to predict the resistance provided by the proposed reinforcing system was established. The present study concludes that the resistance and the ductility of composite slabs using the reinforcing system proposed here are significantly increased.

  • The subject of the ongoing research work is to analyze the composite action of the structural elements of composite slabs with profiled steel decking by experimental and numerical studies. The mechanical and frictional interlocks result in a complex behaviour and failure under horizontal shear action. This is why the design characteristics can be determined only by standardized experiments. The aim of the current research is to develop a computational method which can predict the behaviour of embossed mechanical bond under shear actions, in order to derive the design characteristics of composite slabs with profiled steel decking. In the first phase of the research a novel experimental analysis is completed on an individual concrete encased embossment of steel strip under shear action. The experimental behaviour modes and failure mechanisms are determined. In parallel with the tests a finite element model is developed to follow the ultimate behaviour of this type of embossment, assuming that the phenomenon is governed by the failure of the steel part. The model is verified and applied to analyse the effect of embossment's parameters on the behaviour. In the extended investigation different friction coefficients, plate thicknesses, heights and the size effects are studied. On the basis of the results the tendencies of the ultimate behaviour and resistance by the studied embossment's characteristics are concluded.
