개인 맞춤형 미디어 서비스 기반 지능형 IP 스트리밍 모듈 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Intelligent IP Streaming Module Based on Personalized Media Service)

  • Streaming Technology can support the real-time playback without downloading and storing multimedia data in local HDD. So, client browser or plug-in can represent multimedia data before the end of file transmission using streaming technology. Recently, the demand for efficient real-time playback and transmission of large amounts of multimedia data is growing rapidly. But most users' connections over network are not fast and stable enough to download large chunks of multimedia data. In this paper, we propose an intelligent IP streaming system based on personalized media service. The proposed IP streaming system enables users to get an intelligent recommendation of multimedia contents based on the user preference information stored on the streaming server or the home media server. The supposed intelligent IP streaming system consists of Server Metadata Agent, Pumping Server, Contents Storage Server, Client Metadata Agent and Streaming Player. And in order to implement the personalized media service, the user information, user preference information and client device information are managed under database concept. Moreover, users are assured of seamless access of streamed content event if they switch to another client device by implementing streaming system based on user identification and device information. We evaluate our approach with manufacturing home server system and simulation results.

  • There are already many researches providing u-Healthcare service, but they have left problems to be improved. First of all, the transmission range between sensor nodes and the gateway are restricted. Hence, patients feel uncomfortable because of they need to possess or locate closed to a gateway all the time when they aggregates their medical data. Also, the existing systems have not considered life environment that is important to analyze patient's diseases. Moreover, a guardian need to located close to patient or possess a mobile device that monitors a patients' status in real time when they are in outdoor. In this research, we present multi-hop packet transfer algorithm and compilation of life environment which help improve the problem of the existing researches. Likewise, we designed and implemented a medical information database and a real-time web monitoring system that manage patients' personal history and monitor a patients' status in real time. In this paper, we design and implement the u-Healthcare system based on mobile environment and we present a result when we tested our u-Healthcare system in scenario environment.

건강진단을 위한 U 케어시스템 구현 (An Implementation of U Care System for Health Diagnosis)

  • 본 논문에서는 개인 건강관리를 위한 케어 시스템을 설계하고 구현된 내용이 기술되었다. 설계된 핸드헬드케어 시스템은 802.11 무선 망 환경에서 embedded VC++4.0, PocketPC2003 SDK로 구현되었으며, 구현된 시스템이 케어 관리 정보의 수집을 위한 U 헬쓰 케어 시스템의 연구에 충분한 유용성을 가진다고 생각한다. 제안된 시스템은 건강 진단을 위한 케어 관리모듈, 개인 인적 사항 모듈, 데이터 전송 모듈, 클리닉을 위한 영상 정보 관리 모듈 등으로 구성되어 있다. 또한 응급 시 의료 정보 전송기능은 무선랜 프로토콜 방식과 시리얼 통신을 이용하여 구현되었다.

Indoor Passive Location Tracking and Activity Monitoring using WSN for Ubiquitous Healthcare

  • Indoor location system using wireless sensor network technology was applied for the status evaluation and activity monitoring of elderly person or chronic invalid at home. Location awareness application is transparent to the daily activities, while providing the embedded computing infrastructure with an awareness of what is happening in this space. To locate an object, the active ceiling-mounted reference beacons were placed throughout the building. Reference beacons periodically publish location information on RF and ultrasonic signals to allow application running on mobile or static nodes to study and determine their physical location. Once object-carried passive listener receives the information, it subsequently determines it's location from reference beacons. By using only the sensor nodes without any external network infrastructure the cost of the system was reduced while the accuracy in our experiments. was fairly good and fine grained between 7 and 15 cm for location awareness in indoor environments. Passive architecture used here provides the security of the user privacy while at the server the privacy was secured by providing the authentication using Geopriv approach. This information from sensor nodes is further forwarded to base station where further computation is performed to determine the current position of object and several applications are enabled for context awareness.

  • Structural health monitoring with wireless sensor networks has received much attention in recent years due to the ease of sensor installation and low deployment and maintenance costs. However, sensor network technology needs to solve numerous challenges in order to substitute conventional systems: large amounts of data, remote configuration of measurement parameters, on-site calibration of sensors and robust networking functionality for long-term deployments. We present a structural health monitoring network that addresses these challenges and is used in several deployments for monitoring of bridges and buildings. Our system supports a diverse set of sensors, a library of highly optimized processing algorithms and a lightweight solution to support a wide range of network runtime configurations. This allows flexible partitioning of the application between the sensor network and the backend software. We present an analysis of this partitioning and evaluate the performance of our system in three experimental network deployments on civil structures.

Steering Control and Geomagnetism Cancellation for an Autonomous Vehicle using MR Sensors

  • This paper describes the steering control and geomagnetism cancellation for an autonomous vehicle using an MR sensor. The magneto-resistive (MR) sensor obtains the vector summation of the magnetic fields from embedded magnets and the Earth. The vehicle is controlled by the magnetic fields from embedded magnets. So, geomagnetism is the disturbance in the steering control system. In this paper, we propose a new method of the sensor arrangement in order to remove the geomagnetism and vehicle body interference. The proposed method uses two MR sensors located in a level plane and the steering controller has been developed. The controller has three input variables ($dB_x$, $dB_y$, $dB_z$) using the measured magnetic field difference, and an output variable (the steering angle). A simulation program was developed to acquire the data to teach the neural network, in order to test the ability of a neural network to learn the steering control process. Also, the computer simulation of the vehicle (including vehicle dynamics and steering) was used to verify the steering performance of the vehicle controller using the neural network. From the simulation and field test, good result was obtained and we confirmed the robustness of the neural network controller in a real autonomous vehicle.

  • 사회의 발전과 함께 사회 기반을 구성하는 시설물들의 관리에 대한 연구가 지속되고 있으며, 사회 각 분야에서는 다양한 아이디어를 바탕으로 새로운 시스템을 구축하여 왔다. 그 중 상수도 관망 관리를 위해서 현재 시공되어 운영되고 있는 RTD-1000은 누수 및 파손 등을 원격으로 감지하는 기기로써, PC 기반의 시스템 형태를 가지고 있다. 하지만 PC 기반에서 오는 리소스 소비, 발열, 소비전력이 크다는 취약점이었다. 본 논문에서는 RTD-1000의 취약점을 보완한 개량된 시스템인 RTD-2000을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 WinCE 기반의 ARM9 개발 킷과 LCD가 제거된 TDR만으로 설계 및 구현되었다. RTD-1000에 탑재되었던 윈도우 기반의 각종 감지 프로그램들은 ARM9 기반의 전용 임베디드 S/W로 대체하였고, 성능 비교를 위하여 시뮬레이션 및 평가를 수행하였다.

  • 정보통신과 네트워크 기술의 발달로 교통의 효율성과 교통이용자의 안전성을 높이는 지능형교통시스템(ITS) 서비스가 다양하게 제공되고 있다. 이동하는 자동차에 ITS 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 DSRC, Wibro, HSPA, WAVE 등 다양한 통신 방식이 이용되고 있지만, 각 통신방식의 규격과 성능의 차이로 모든 서비스를 하나의 통신방식으로 이용하기에는 어려움이 많다. 본 논문은 끊임없는 ITS 서비스 제공을 위하여 다양한 통신방식을 번갈아 이용하는 시스템을 제안하였으며, 임베디드플랫폼 기반의 단말기에서 성능을 구현하였다.

SPAD과 CNN의 특성을 반영한 ToF 센서와 스테레오 카메라 융합 시스템 (Fusion System of Time-of-Flight Sensor and Stereo Cameras Considering Single Photon Avalanche Diode and Convolutional Neural Network)

  • 3D depth perception has played an important role in robotics, and many sensory methods have also proposed for it. As a photodetector for 3D sensing, single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) is suggested due to sensitivity and accuracy. We have researched for applying a SPAD chip in our fusion system of time-of-fight (ToF) sensor and stereo camera. Our goal is to upsample of SPAD resolution using RGB stereo camera. Currently, we have 64 x 32 resolution SPAD ToF Sensor, even though there are higher resolution depth sensors such as Kinect V2 and Cube-Eye. This may be a weak point of our system, however we exploit this gap using a transition of idea. A convolution neural network (CNN) is designed to upsample our low resolution depth map using the data of the higher resolution depth as label data. Then, the upsampled depth data using CNN and stereo camera depth data are fused using semi-global matching (SGM) algorithm. We proposed simplified fusion method created for the embedded system.

한정된 자원을 갖는 FPGA에서의 이진가중치 신경망 가속처리 구조 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Accelerator Architecture for Binary Weight Network on FPGA with Limited Resources)

  • 본 연구에서는 임베디드 시스템에 적용하기 위해 자원이 제한된 조건의 FPGA를 기반으로 BWN 가속처리를 하는 방법을 제시하였다. 사용할 수 있는 로직의 개수가 제한적이기 때문에 다양한 크기의 Conv-layer, FC-layer를 처리할 수 있는 하나의 연산장치를 설계해서 재활용하였다. Input feature map 데이터를 한번에 병렬처리를 할 수 없는 경우 데이터를 여러 번 읽어서 중간결과를계산하고 합산하여 최종 출력을 계산하였다. 사용할 수 있는 BRAM 모듈 개수가 제한적이기 때문에 BWN 가속기내의 데이터 bit수를 최소화한 구조를 사용하였다. 구현한 BWN가속기의 이미지 분류 처리 시간은 소형 시스템과 비교하였을 때 처리시간 측면에서 우수함을 보였고 고성능 시스템과 비교하였을 때는 데스크탑 PC보다는 빠르고 높은 클럭속도의 GPU시스템의 50%정도 느렸다. BWN가속기는 50MHz의 느린 clock을 사용하므로 성능대비 전력측면에서 유리함을 확인할 수 있었다.
