  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a pleasantly designed interior inpro-spatial behavior. For pleasantly designed interior, the existing interior was remodeled through the change of finishing materials for major architectural elements such as wall, floor and ceiling, and changes of furniture and it's arrangement. Prospatial behavior was operationalized as seat arranging behavior and measured through the arranged condition and observable arranging behavior. Time-series design, one of quasi-experimental design was used. The data in this study were extracted from an existing field experimental research. One hundred forty four video tapes recorded during 6 months out of 2 years period ware used. In conclusion , the pro-spartial behavior change was a mid-term positive effect of pleasantly designed environment. In an environmental setting where pro-spatial behavior was most important, a certain time cycle to change the environment needs to be considered.

  • The purpose of this study clarifies an expression characteristic of the phenomenal space. The architecture is an interface between human and nature. Nature presents herself as phenomena. Thus, the phenomenal space should be approached as the essence of architecture that is to accommodate nature. Phenomenon is related to everyday life and shares flow naturally within it. The phenomenon and everyday life form a relationship through the mediating elements that are time, place, and image. If these mediating elements are developed as spatialized elements, time becomes the converse, place becomes the overlap, and shape becomes the revealing. Also, spatial components that are substituted with these elements are void/solid, form, and materials. The relational characteristics of phenomenal space can be identified through these, and such characteristics are one-ness, continuity, and coincidence of opposites. Phenomenal space is expressed with spatial tones and accepted as spatial atmospheres. For the analysis, 15 works of swiss architects were selected to which spatial elements were applied. And It were composed that analysis by arranging these components as the relational network found that expression characteristics. Trough the analysis, It was found that expression characteristics of phenomenal space of the architecture of Swiss architects were prototypicality, primitiveness, and originality. As a results, It is considered that the role of the space that contains the value of everyday life, the value of the phenomenon is necessary.

  • Recently, improvement of the quality of urban riverscape environment has been emphasized not only by landscape architectural field but also by various professionals in planning and ecology. Regarding to this current movement, the aim of this paper is to highlight major visual elements of riverscape axis as a case study of Shinchon River in Taegu City to suggest some basic guidelines for arranging riverscape in urban area. The study was mainly based on Repertory Grid Development method which was developed in Japan. The method is consist of three steps such as decision of element landscape in study area for slide photos, selection of evaluation items for interview and obstraction of proper evaluation factors. The major findings through this study are as follows; 1) The 12 major visual elements which possibly improve riverscape, based on abstraction of proper evaluation factors, are Dunchi, surface of the water,, equipment of river, buildings near riverside, river vertical and horizontal facilities like bridge, fine view, riverbed, water plant, naturalness, water's edge line, harmony and street trees by order. 2) Total numbers of adjective which describe 12 common factors are 25, such as clean, open, stable, quiet, comfortable, friendly, bright, natural etc. In addition, Dunchi was described 337 times by various adjectives, surface of the water was 200 times and arrangement of river was 146 times which is similar result with the order of 12 influential common factors. 3) Therefore, Dunchi, surface of the water and equipment of river are three most important factors which could create better riverscape. These three factors implies us how we supply good quality of urban river environment for the urban residents.

  • To study an effective use of woods, three-ply hybrid laminated woods instead of crosslaminated woods which are composed of spruce in the face and three kinds of wood-based boards (MDF, PB, OSB) in the core were manufactured, and the effect of constitution elements for the core laminae on bending strength performances was investigated. Bending modulus of elasticity (MOE) of hybrid laminated woods had the highest values for the hybrid laminated wood types arranging OSB laminae in the core, and had the lowest values for those arranging MDF laminae in the core. These values were higher than those of various cross-laminated woods. The estimated bending MOEs of the hybrid laminated woods which were composed of perpendicular-direction lamina of spruce in the faces were similar to their measured values, regardless of wood-based boards in the core. However, those of the hybrid laminated woods which were composed of parallel-direction lamina of spruce in the faces had much higher values than those of their measured values, and it was necessary to revise the measured values. Bending modulus of rupture (MOR) of the hybird laminated woods had the highest value for those arranging OSB laminae in the core, and had the lowest values for those arranging PB laminae in the core unlike the bending MOE. By hybrid laminating, the anisotropy of bending strength performances was markedly decreased, and the differences of strength performances among wood-based boards were also considerably decreased.

  • This study has been analyzed to write an ideal training evaluation table after analyzing validity of content organization and assigning score of evaluating elements of clinical practice of Dept. of dental technology. 220 junior students who are studying dental technology in D university in Daegu were questioned to analyze the relationship of content organization and score of clinical practice evaluation table. The corrected material has been inspected by SAS V8 for Windows. The results are as following. 1. The validity of content organization of clinical practice evaluation table has a result which can be reliable over than 70% but the validity of score shows low reliance. c 2. The validity of content organization of detail elements of clinical practice evaluation shows that overuse of material and attentiveness(3.78) and responsibility (3.60) are high response but in score organization, the validity shows that safety measure(2.36) when controling machines, arrangement(2.98) after use and ability (2.98) of solving problems are very low. 3. In the elements without interpersonal relation, it shows that those are related to each other. its grading is p < 0.01 so it appears to be meaningful. 4. In result of analyzing the effect to 'studying amount' mark in clinical practice evaluation mark, it appears the element of attitude for job to affect it. And in result of analyzing the effect to 'training attitude' mark, it appears the element of 'controling machines' to affect it. For these results, to be a better evaluation tool, it should be modified by continuous research with arranging evaluation elements to be marked differently in between elements.

  • The purpose of this study was to review the relevant literature about coaching and thereupon, survey the coaching methods used for golfer lesson to reinterpret them and thereby, describe in view of kinetics the swing errors committed frequently by amateur golfers and suggest more scientific golfer coaching methods. For this purpose, kinetic elements were divided into precision and power ones and therewith, the variables affecting such elements were identified. On the other hand, swings were divided into address, take-back, back-swing, back-swing top, down-swing, impact and follow-through to determine 20 variables for each form and thereby, define their errors to determine the relations between their frequency and errors. For this study, a total of 60 amateur golfer were sampled, and their swing forms were photographed with two high-speed digital cameras, and the resultant images were analyzed to determine the errors of each form kinetically, which would be analyzed again with the program V1-5000. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; The kinetic elements could be identified as precision, power and precise power. Thus, setup and trajectory were classified into precision elements, while differences of inter-joint angles, cocking and delayed hitting. Lastly, timing and axial movement were classified into precise power elements. Three errors were identified in association with setup. The errors related with trajectory elements accounted for most (7) of the 20 errors. Three errors were determined for inter-joint angle differences, and one error was associated with cocking and delayed hitting. Lastly, one error was classified into timing error, while five errors were associated with axial movement. Finally, as a result of arranging the errors into a cross table, it was found that the errors were associated with each other between take-back and back-swing, take-back and follow-through, back-swing and back-swing top, and between back-swing and down-swing. Namely, an error would lead to other error repeatedly. So, it is more effective to identify all the errors for every form and correct them comprehensively rather than single out the errors and correct them one by one.
