  • In this presentation, we would like to report an inkjet printing method to produce 1 to 2 bit RFID tag working in the range of 6 to 28 MHz with or without transistors. The inkjet printing method especially for the formation of transistors, inductors, capacitors will be presented by the view of polymer chemistry. This presentation also includes the printing schemes for memory cell, ring oscillator, rectifier, antenna, and so forth for constructing RFID tag. I illustrate these strategies by describing recent my works on the formation of all SWNT-TFT and conducting polymer-silver nanocomposite inks that can be applied in the construction of electronic devices.

  • In this study, the piezoelectric energy harvester was investigated employing the pillar structure with the diameter size of 50~500 um. Usually, the aspect ratio between the height and diameter was related with the piezoelectric performance. High aspect ratio was showed the low electric noise and high piezoelectric properties than low aspect ratio. Therefore, we have selected the Su-8 photo-resist and modified lithography process to manufacture the pillar structure with height above the 250 ${\mu}m$. In this presentation, we will report the process and properties of micro pillar structure based on the PMN-PZT (Pb$(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-PbZrTiO$_3$) materials.

  • A proportional intergral (PI) control strategy is commonly used for constant current and extinction angle control in a HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) system. A PI control strategy is based on a stactic design where the gains of a PI controller are fixed. Since the response of a HVDC plant dynamically changes with variations in the operation point a PI controller performance is far from optimum. The contribution of this paper is the presentation of the design of a rough set based, fuzzy adaptive control scheme. Experimental results that compare the performance of the adaptive control and PI control schemes are also given.

  • Load effect which occurs due to the electrode structure for PDP(plasma display panel) can seriously reduce the image quality of PDP. In this paper, we propose the method of reducing load effect in presentation images, which have the possibility of load effect, by using LUT(look-up table). The proposed method enhances the image quality of PDP by correcting load effect region of the still image.

  • We report here our recent progress in the development and commercialization of polyfluorenes emitting red, green and blue (ROB) colors as materials for light emitting diodes (LEDs). Our patented version of the Suzuki coupling process has been used to synthesize a variety of fluorenebased homopolymers and copolymers emitting colors across the entire visible spectrum. The optical and electronic properties of the polymers are tailored through selective incorporation of different aromatic units into the polyfluorene backbone. Our latest green emitter, reported herein, provides very efficient devices with a low turn-on voltage of 2.25 V, a peak efficiency of 10.5 Cd/A at 6,600 Cd/$m^2$ at 4.85 V. These devices maintain an efficiency of greater than 10 Cd/A up to 50,000 Cd/$m^2$ and demonstrate very good stability as exemplified by a device half-life of greater than 1,500 hours starting from 1,100 Cd/$m^2$. Considerable progress has also been made with red and blue emitters and will be the subject of this presentation.

  • Previous studies in various medical specialties have shown that fewer than 50% of abstracts presented at meetings are subsequently published, but only a few studies have been performed in pediatric dentistry. The purpose of this study was to investigate the rate of publication of articles based on abstracts presented at the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (K.A.D.P) spring and fall Congress for 2001 to 2011. The abstracts for both oral and poster presentation were collected. A RISS search was then performed to identify the publication of full-length articles based on those titles of the abstracts. A total of 706 abstract presentations were done at the 24 meetings (477 as oral presentation, 229 as poster presentations). Of these, from 45.2%(319) in 2011 to 82.9%(585) in 2022 was subsequently published. The publication ratio for orally presented abstracts was from 52.2%(249) in 2011 to 86.6%(413) in 2022, poster presentations from 30.6%(70) in 2011 to 75.1%(172) in 2022. We suggest that presenters at these meetings should expand their abstracts into full manuscripts and seek to publish them in peer-reviewed journals for the benefit of the profession. We believe that the results of changes in the publication rate over the past 12 years are attributable to the digitalized environment such as electronic literature search and electronic publication.

  • The electron/hole injections in organic electronic devices have long been an issue due to the large energy level mismatches between electrode and organic layer. To utilize the organic materials in electronic devices, functional thin layers have been used, which reduce the electron/hole injection barrier from electrode to organic material. Typically, inorganic compounds and organic molecules are used as an electron and hole injection layer, respectively. Recently, CsN3 and 1,4,5,8,- naphthalene-tetracarboxylic-dianhydride (NTCDA) are reported as a potential electron and hole injection layers. CsN3 shows unique properties that it breaks into Cs and N and thus Cs can dope organic layer into n-type. On the other side, hole injection anode, NTCDA forms gap states with anode material. In this presentation, we show the electronic structure changes upon the insertion of CsN3 and NTCDA at proper interfaces to reduce the charge injection barriers. These barrier reductions are correlated with device characteristics.
