Geminate electron-hole recombination in organic solids in the presence of a donor-acceptor heterojunction is studied by computer simulations. We analyze how the charge-pair separation probability in such systems is affected by energetic disorder of the media, anisotropy of charge-carrier mobilities, and other factors. We show that in energetically disordered systems the effect of heterojunction on the charge-pair separation probability is stronger than that in idealized systems without disorder. We also show that a mismatch between electron and hole mobilities reduces the separation probability, although in energetically disordered systems this effect is weaker compared to the case of no energetic disorder. We demonstrate that the most important factor that determines the charge-pair separation probability is the ratio of the sum of electron and hole mobilities to the rate constant of recombination reaction. We also consider systems with mobility anisotropy and calculate the electric field dependence of the charge-pair separation probability for all possible orientations of high-mobility axes in the donor and acceptor phases. We theoretically show that it is possible to increase the charge-pair separation probability by controlling the mobility anisotropy in heterojunction systems and in consequence to achieve higher efficiencies of organic photovoltaic devices.
For resonant excitation of the ground state $1s^e-1S^h_{3/2}$, dynamics of 'the electron-hole pair in a CdSe quantum dot was investigated by degenerate pump-probe measurement. At low e-h pair densities, the decay of $1s^e-1S^h_{3/2}$ state is dominated by radiative recombination. As the number of the electron-hole pairs increases, new decay features become significant. Theoretical comparison suggests this is attributed to the bi-molecular and Auger-type scattering.
Halogen atoms in a molecule are traditionally considered as electron donors, since they have unshared electrons. Normally when they are bonded, there are three lone pair electrons. These lone pairs can function as Lewis bases. However, when they are bound to electron withdrawing groups, they can act as Lewis acids. Since the situation is similar hydrogen bonding (HB), this type of interaction is named as halogen bonding (XB). This mainly comes from the uneven distribution of electron density around the halogen atoms. Since the electron density around halogen atom opposite to ${\sigma}$-bond is depleted, its electropositive region is called ${\sigma}$-hole. This ${\sigma}$-hole can attract halogen bond acceptors, requiring more stringent directionality compared to HB. Since this interaction mainly comes from electrostatic origin, the geometry tends to be linear. Since the XB energy is comparable to corresponding HB. Still in its infancy, XB shows a broad range of applicability, with potentially more useful properties, compared to corresponding HB.
The unique compact radio source, Sgr $A^*$, at the Galactic center show many observational signs that it is powered by supermassive black hole. Recent observations also imply that it is surrounded by winds from nearby IR sources. So we explore the model in which multiwavelength spectrum from Sgr $A^*$ is due to the spherical accretion of these winds onto the central supermassive black hole. Improving upon the previous work, we allowed the possibility that ions and electrons have different temperatures, included the Compton effects and pair processes. Electrons radiate via cyclosynchrotron and bresstrahlung with comptoniztion. We find that ion approaches the virial temperature ${\sim}10^{13}K$ while electron temperature saturates at ${\sim}10^{10}K$. However, decoupling between ion and electron does not greatly affect the shape of the emission spectrum. When the mass of the black hole is ${\sim}10^6M_{\odot}$, radio, IR, X-ray, $\gamma$-ray band spectrum is reasonably explained by the model. Yet Compton effect which is neglected in previous works produces significant emission in IR band, which is marginally compatible with observations. Pair production is negligible and annihilation lines cannot be observed.
In this paper, the creation of an Electron-Hole Pair due to Total Ionizing Dose (TID) effects inside the oxide of a Buried Channel Array Transistor (BCAT) device is induced, resulting in an increase in leakage current and threshold due to an increase in hole trap charge at the oxide interface. By comparing and simulating changes in voltage with the previously proposed Partial Isolation Buried Channel Array Transistor (Pi-BCAT) structure, the characteristics in leakage current and threshold voltage changed regardless of the increased oxide area of the Pi-BCAT device, compared to the asymmetrically doped BCAT structure. It shows superiority.

This research approached electrical characteristics of organic light emitting diodes getting into the spotlight by next generation display device. Basic mechanism of OLED's emitting is known as that electron by cathode of lower work function and hole by anode of higher work function are driven and recombine exciton-state being flowed in emitting material layer passing carrier transport layer In order to make many electron-hole pairs, we must manufacture device in multi-layer structure. There are Carrier Injection Layer(CIL), Carrier Transport Layer(CTL) and Emitting Material Layer(EML) in multi-layer structure. It is important that regulate thickness of layer for high luminescence efficiency and set mobility of hole and electron.

It is important to form the n+ emitter layer for generating electric potential collecting EHP(Electron-Hole Pair). In this paper the formation on the n+ emitter layer of silicon wafer has been made with respect to uniformity of shallow diffusion from a liquid source. The starting material was crystalline silicon wafers of resistivity $0.5{\sim}3\{Omega}{\cdot}cm$, p-type, thickness $200{\mu}m$, direction[100]. The formation of n+ emitter layer from the liquid $POCl_3$ source was carried out for $890^{\circ}C$ in an ambient of $N_2:O_2$::10:1 by volume. And than each conditions are pre-deposition and drive-in time. It has been made uniformity of at least. so, the average of sheet resistance was about 0.12%. In this study, sheet resistance was measured by 4-point prove.
The Electron/Hole Pair is generated when the activation energy produced by ultraviolet ray illuminates to the semiconductor and OH- ion produced by water photocleavage reacts with positive Hole. As a results, OH radical acting as strong oxidant is generated and then Photocatalytic oxidation reaction occurs. The photocatalytic oxidation can oxidate the non-degradable and hazardous organic substances such as pesticides and aromatic materials easier, safer and shorter than conventional water treatment process. So in this study, many factors influencing the oxidation of chlorophenols, such as inorganic electrolytes addition, change of oxygen and nitrogen atmosphere, temperature, pH, oxygen concentration, chlorophenol concentration, were throughly examined. According to the experiments observations, it is founded that the rate of chlorophenol oxidation follows a first-order reaction and the modified Langmuir-Hinshelwood relationship. And the photocatalytic oxidation occurs only when activation energy acting as Electron/Hole generation, oxygen acting as electron acceptor to prevent Electron/Hole recombination, $TiO_2$ powder acting as photocatalyst are present. The effects of variation of dissolved oxygen concentration, temperature and inorganic electrolytes concentration on 2-chlorophenol oxidation are negligible. And the lower the organic concentration, the higher the oxidation efficiency becomes. Therefore, the photocatalytic oxidation is much effective to oxidation of hazardous substances at very low concentration. The oxidation is effective in the range of 0.1 g/L-10 g/L of $TiO_2$. Finally when the ultra-violet ray is illuminated to $TiO_2$, the surface characteristics of $TiO_2$ change and Adsorption/Desorption reaction on $TiO_2$ surface occurs.
Recent X-ray observations of the accretion disks in stellar black hole candidates have revealed rather complex behavior, which cannot be fully described by the simple picture of the standard disk model. In this paper, therefore, we discuss the effects of e+e- pair creation on the structure and the stability of hot accretion disks, aiming at the thorough understanding of emission properties of X-ray binaries containing black holes.
