UUV의 수중 도킹을 위한 전자기파 신호 기반의 위치인식 센서 개발 (The Underwater UUV Docking with 3D RF Signal Attenuation based Localization)

  • In this paper, we developed an underwater localization system for underwater robot docking using the electromagnetic wave attenuation model. Electromagnetic waves are generally known to be impossible to use in water environment. However, according to the conclusions of the previous studies on the attenuation characteristics in underwater, the attenuation pattern is uniform and its model was accurately proposed and verified in 3-dimensional space via the omnidirectional antenna. In this paper, a docking structure and localization sensor system are developed for a widely used cone type docking mechanism. First, we fabricated electromagnetic wave range sensor transmit modules. And a mobile sensor node is equipped with unmanned underwater vehicle(UUV)s. The mobile node senses the four different signal strength (RSS: Received Signal Strength) from fixed nodes, and the obtained RSS data are transformed to each distance information using the 3-Dimensional EM wave attenuation model. Then, the relative localization between the docking area and underwater robot can be achieved according to optimization algorithm. Finally, experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed localization system for the docking induction by comparing the errors in the actual position of the mobile node and the theoretical position through the model.

Immunity Test for Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Considering Power Transfer Efficiency of the Bulk Current Injection Method

  • The bulk current injection (BCI) and direct power injection (DPI) method have been established as the standards for the electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS) test. Because the BCI test uses a probe to inject magnetically coupled electromagnetic (EM) noise, there is a significant difference between the power supplied by the radio frequency (RF) generator and that transferred to the integrated circuit (IC). Thus, the immunity estimated by the forward power cannot show the susceptibility of the IC itself. This paper derives the real injected power at the failure point of the IC using the power transfer efficiency of the BCI method. We propose and mathematically derive the power transfer efficiency based on equivalent circuit models representing the BCI test setup. The BCI test is performed on I/O buffers with and without decoupling capacitors, and their immunities are evaluated based on the traditional forward power and the real injected power proposed in this work. The real injected power shows the actual noise power level that the IC can tolerate. Using the real injected power as an indicator for the EMS test, we show that the on-chip decoupling capacitor enhances the EM noise immunity.

가변 주파수 특성을 갖는 평면형 모노폴 안테나 설계 (Planar Frequency-Reconfigurable Monopole Antenna Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 가변 커패시터를 이용한 주파수 재구성형 평면 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 미앤더 타입의 평면 모노폴로 설계되었으며, 버랙터 다이오드를 사용하여 가변 커패시티브 로딩(capacitive loading)에 의해 공진 주파수를 변화하였다. 등가회로 분석과 EM 시뮬레이션 분석에 의해 안테나의 가변 특성 변화를 설계하였으며, 동일한 방사 패턴의 특성도 확인하였다. 제작된 주파수 가변 모노폴 안테나는 설계시 사용된 캐패시터를 실장한 안테나와 버랙터 다이오드의 인가 전압에 따른 공진 주파수 변화를 비교함으로써 설계 결과를 검증하였다. 제안된 안테나는 인가 전압에 따라 2.25 GHz에서 2.42 GHz까지 공진 주파수 가변 성능을 나타내었다.

Numerical Study of Estimating the Arrival Time of UHF Signals for Partial Discharge Localization in a Power Transformer

  • Partial discharges (PDs) are electrical sparks that occur inside insulation between two conducting electrodes and can lead to the disastrous failure of insulation systems. To determine the location of a PD, a distributed array of UHF PD sensors is used to detect the electromagnetic (EM) signals emitted from the PD source, and the localization of the PD source can be estimated using the time difference of arrival (TDOA) between EM signals captured by the UHF PD sensor array. There are four popular methods to estimate the TDOA-the first peak method, the cross-correlation method, the energy criterion method, and the average time window threshold method. In this work, we numerically investigate the influence of noise on estimating the TDOA for the four different methods. Numerical results show that the energy criterion method is more robust against noise than other methods.

연자성 합금 분말의 입자크기에 따른 전자파 흡수 특성 비교 (Study of Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Properties with Particle Size in Soft Magnetic Alloy Powder)

  • The electromagnetic wave (EM) absorption properties of various particle size have been investigated in a sheet-type absorber using the $Fe_{73}Si_{16}B_{7}Nb_{3}Cu_{1}$ alloy powder. With decreasing the average particle size, the complex permeability (${\mu}_{r}$) and permittivity (${\varepsilon}_{r}$) increased and the matching frequency is shifted toward lower frequency. The fabricated EM wave absorbers showed permeability $2{\sim}6$, permittivity $17{\sim}23$ for a $-325{\sim}+400$ mesh sample, and the calculated power absorption was as high as 80% in the frequency range over 2 GHz.

  • This paper presents analysis of passive metal interconnection of the LNA block in CMOS integrated circuit. The performance of circuit is affected by the geometry of RF signal path. To investigate the effect of interconnection lines, a cascode LNA is designed, and circuit simulations with full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulations are executed for different positions of a component. As the results, the position of an external capacitor (Cex) changes the parasitic capacitance of electric coupling; the placement of component affects the circuit performance. This analysis of interconnection line is helpful to analyze the amount of electromagnetic coupling between the lines, and useful to choose the signal path in the layout design. The target of this work is the RF LNA enabling the seamless connection of wireless data network and the following standards have to be supported in multi-band (WCDMA: 2.11~ 2.17 GHz, CDMA200 1x : 1.84~1.87 GHz, WiBro : 2.3~2.4GHz) mobile application. This work has been simulated and verified by Cadence spectre RF tool and Ansoft HFSS. And also, this work has been implemented in a 0.13um RF CMOS technology process.

  • 본 논문은 Mobi-Kids 연구의 노출량 평가를 위해 휴대전화 대표 모델에 대해 연구 프로토콜에 따른 SAR 계산방법을 분석하고, 역학조사 대상자가 사용한 휴대전화의 무선주파수 누적 노출량을 평가하는 방법을 제안한다. 휴대전화 대표 모델의 출력을 동일하게 가정하고, 서로 다른 연령의 4개 머리 모델에서의 SAR 분포를 계산하여 데이터베이스를 구축한다. 역학조사 대상자가 사용한 특정 휴대전화 모델의 머리 SAR은 SAR 적합성 시험결과를 활용하여 보정 인자를 적용함으로써 구한다. 그리고 휴대전화 특성과 함께 사용 시간, 좌 우측 비율 같은 대상자의 휴대전화 사용 패턴에 대한 인자를 고려하여 누적 에너지를 산출하게 된다.

내열성 전자기 노이즈 흡수 폴리(아미드-이미드)/연자성체 복합체 필름 (Heat Resistant Electromagnetic Noise Absorber Films Using Poly(amide imide)/Soft Magnet Composite)

  • 폴리(아미드-이미드)와 연자성체의 블렌딩에 의해 고온에서 이용 가능한 내열성 전자기 노이즈 흡수용 필름을 제조하였다. N,N-디메틸아세트아미드에 폴리(아미드 아믹 산)을 용해시킨 후 연자성체 파우더를 혼합하고 이용액을 유리 기판에 캐스팅한 뒤 열을 가하여 이미드화하는 방법으로 전자기 노이즈 흡수 필름을 제조하였다. 제조된 필름의 열적 특성, 열 안정성 및 기계적 성질을 분석하고 마이크로 스트립 라인 법에 의해 전자기 흡수력을 측정하였는데,1 GHz에서 150 ${\mu}m$두께의 복합체 필름의 전력손실(power loss)은 약 25%였다.

  • 고성능 복합형 전자파 흡수체를 개발하기 위해 종래에는 지지재로서 주로 Silicone 고무나 CPE가 사용되어왔다. 본 연구에서는 전통 공예에서 사용되어 오던 옻에 대한 특징을 분석하고 옻의 전자파 흡수능을 조사하고 이를 지지재로 사용하여 MnZn 페라이트와 배합하여 전자파 흡수체를 제작한 경우의 전자파 흡수능을 조사하고, 흡수체의 두께에 따른 흡수능을 조사하였다. 옻을 지지재로 한 MnZn 페라이트 복합형 전자파 흡수체는 CPE나 Silicone 고무를 지지재로 한 전자파 흡수체에 비하여 우수한 전파흡수특성 나타내었으며, 옻을 지지재로 사용한 전파흡수체의 두께 변화에 따라 정합주파수와 전파흡수능이 변화함을 알았다.

Development of Broadband Electromagnetic Wave Absorber for X-band Sensors in Double-layered Type Using Carbon

  • In this paper, the EM wave absorbers were designed and fabricated for X -band sensors using Carbon of dielectric material with CPE. The complex relative permittivity of samples is calculated by using measurement results of S-parameter. We simulated the double-layered type EM wave absorber with broad bandwidth using the measured complex relative permittivity by changing the thickness and layer, which was fabricated based on the simulated design The fabricated EM wave absorber consists of 1 mm first layer sheet facing metal with Carbon composition ratio 70 vol. % and 1.5 mm second layer sheet with Carbon composition ratio 60 vol. %. The measured results showed a good agreement to the simulated ones. It is found toot the optimized absorption ability of double-layered type EM wave absorber with thickness of 2.5 mm is higher than 10 dB from 7.8 GHz to 13.3 GHz.
