The Development of Measuring Method of Coated Steel Corrosion in Mortar by Transient Electro-Magnetic(TEM) Method (과도전자탐사법에 의한 모르타르 중의 코팅 철근의 부식 측정 방법 개발)

  • To study measurement of coated steel corrosion in mortar, a transient electro-magnetic(TEM) method was adapted. The sensors were made of enamelled wire with diameter of 0.25mm(transmitter), 0.1mm(receiver) and the secondary electro motive force(EMF) was measured with SIROTEMIII. The sensors configuration was used as in loop configuration. After coated steels were corroded by the salt spray during 3, 7, 15, 25days, they were embedded in mortar which were made from sand : cement : water ratio of 2 : 1 :0.5. To investigate coated steel corrosion in mortar, the sensors were used. ( sensorl - $T_x$ : $4{\Omega}$, $R_x$ : $10{\Omega}$, $3{times}3cm$, sensor2 - $T_x$ : $8{\Omega}$, $R_x$ : $10{\Omega}$, $3{times}3cm$, sensor3 - $T_x$ : $4{\Omega}$, $R_x$ : $10{\Omega}$, $6{times}6cm$, sensor4 - $T_x$ : $8{\Omega}$, $R_x$ : $10{\Omega}$, $6{times}6cm$). The obtained results showed that the secondary EMF was decreased with specimens of 3, 7days corroded coationg steel in mortar and then increased with specccimens of 15, 25days corroded one. And it was confirmed that measurement of coated steel corrosion in mortar by a transient electro-magnetic(TEM) method is possible.

  • The electric braking system obtains its braking force by a motor instead of the hydraulic brake which has been used in conventional automobile systems. Electric braking system is consisted of fewer numbers of components than hydraulic braking system, and it has effects of improved response and reduced braking distance for the ABS(Anti-lock Brake System) and ESC(Electronic Stability Control). This paper presents the BLAC motor drive system for Electro-Magnetic Brake(EMB). Proposed control system consists of the power converter for driving a motor and the digital control system for speed control, and the vector control is applied for fast torque response. It is verified through the simulation using Matlab/Simulink and experiment that the proposed BLAC drive system can be applied to EMB.

  • Recently, the vacuum interrupters have been most widely used in medium voltage level. In the vacuum circuit breaker the most influential part is vacuum interrupter. By performing the precise electromagnetic analysis of the interrupter, we increase the capability of large current interruption. In this paper, diffuse arc and constricted arc are modeled to perform 3D electromagnetic analysis, and also flux distributions and electromagnetic force is calculated at the contacts' separation. It is expected these results will be used importantly in developing the new vacuum interrupters.

  • In this paper, the nonlinear model of axial electro-magnetic suspension(EMS) system is presented. The characteristic of attracyion force is analyzed by FEM. Some simulation is given to compare the sliding mode control based on the input-output linearization with the classical linear control using Taylor approximation. Real result of regulating control, transient response comparison, and robustness control with disturbance using the sliding mode method is presented.

  • In this study, quarter vehicle model is used to analyse vibration control effects for ride comfort and handling safety according to this three kinds of control methods, which are the modal control, the sky-hook control and the linear viscous damping control. We performed theoretical analysis and experiments and compared two results. In experiments, electro-magnetic actuator was employed as a force actuator. It is shown that all three methods can effectively control the vehicle model. The modal control method gives similar control results using gain less than the viscous damping control.

  • In transverse flux linear induction motors(TFLIM), The loops of the working flux lie in planes transverse to the direction of motion. With a poly-phase primary winding, The TFLIMs has both electro-magnetic propulsion and levitation force. Thus, TFLIM a will be useful in high speed ground transportation systems. In this paper, The characteristics of a single aide TFLIM are analysed by using electromagnetic field theory.

  • In this study, a car-door-controlled collision protection system using proximity sensor is proposed and its preliminary analysis and several preliminary experiments are conducted. The proposed system has three additional sub-components on the car-door that is, a pair of extra electro-magnetic actuator that are attached to the sliding bar of the open/close car-door four-bar mechanism, a proximity sensor that would be attached to the outside surface of the door which is likely to frequently contact to the object and a driving control circuit of the whole system. A proximity sensor is used to detect object close to the car-door, the driving control circuit provides actuating power command to the electro-magnets to generate braking force to stop the swing motion of the car-door. It is verified through kinematic analysis of the four-bar car-door open/close mechanism and through experiments that the magnitude of maximum electronic magnetic force could provide the braking force enough for this application. For this purpose, an electro-magnet driving circuit is implemented and tested. And also to increase the safety of the system a time delay circuit is implemented and tested.

  • Pneumatic servo valve is an electro-mechanical device which change electric signals to a proper pneumatic signals, that is, flowrate and pressure. In this study, a pneumatic servo valve was designed and each simulation was conducted on any variation in the flowrate depending upon the magnetic force of the linear force motor and the displacement of the spool. And permanent magnet was used as a material for the plunger of the servo valve. Thereby, a low electrical power consumption type coil was desinged. And a modeling for the coil design was conducted by using the magnetic circuit. also, the feasibility of the modeling was verified by using a commercial magnetic field analysis program. The designed and fabrication of the spool and sleeve, position sensor, servo controller and the dynamic characteristic verified by the experiment.

  • This paper is concerned with the design and implementation of magnetic damper system to reduce the vibration of suspension system actively. Cylindrical type electro-magnetic actuator with permanent magnet is analyzed and effective controller design is made. Magnetic force analyzed and transfer function for the total system is determined by experimental data using error minimization method. For experiments, simple suspension structure system is utilized, in which a magnetic damper composed of permanent magnet and digital controller is attached. In order to drive the system, bipolar power amplifier of voltage control type is utilized. Stable and high speed control board is used to perform digital control logic for the given system. This paper shows that the magnetic damper system using phase-lead controller excellently reduces vibration of 1-D.O.F (degree of freedom) suspension system.

Development of Improved Semi-Active Damper Using EMRF (EMRF를 이용한 개선된 Semi-Active Damper 개발)

  • Magneto-Rheological Fluid (MRF) is a functional fluid in which flow characteristics change into magnetic force due to its magnetic particles. When the semi-active control device does not use MRF for a long time, precipitation of magnetic particles and abnormal control force occur. Thus, Electro Magneto-Rheological Fluid (EMRF), which improves the precipitation of magnetic particles for MRF and exhibits existing control performance, was developed in this study. First, the optimal mix proportion ratio was selected by conducting a precipitation experiment and a controlled force test by varying the content of grease based on the existing MRF components. Also, EMRF was applied to the shear-type damper to evaluate the control performance when applied to the control device. The cylinder-type damper was developed to apply to the structure, and control performance evaluation was conducted. The result confirmed that the precipitation of the magnetic particles was improved, while the damper using EMRF exhibited excellent control performance.
