혼잡비용 감소를 위한 TCSC의 최적위치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Site of TCSC for Reducing Congestion Cost)

  • As a competition is introduced in the electricity supply industry, a congestion problem arises in the transmission network. The congestion causes the transmission cost to increase. One way to decrease the congestion cost is to control the transmission flow through the installation of TCSC(Thyrister Controlled Series Capacitor). This paper deals with the optimal site of the TCSC for reducing the congestion cost using a shadow price which is one of the economic signals for the systems. Test results show that the site of the TCSC is optimal to minimize the congestion cost by the proposed algorithm.

  • In spite of recent stagnation, the rate of electric consumption has highly grown in accordance with a high cultural livings, Also, a usage of electric energy is growing with development of multi-information society. To make the matter worse, hard work of highest order is required because distribution system are widely spread and complex. And consummers demand for the electricity of good quality and it is obstracle to be not able to train related technitian for maintenance without an interruption of electric power. It is sure the counterplan of uninterruption of electric power is very necessary. In this paper, considering the working circumstances, we presented the necessity of work method, the effects and the future prospect for uninterruption power supply.

  • Fuel cell makes electricity through chemical reaction. Bipolar-plate distribute hydrogen, oxidation using channel geometry condensation of water vapor inside channels of bipolar-plates lowers efficiency of fuel cell. Usually high pressured gas supply is used to solve the water condensation problem with serpentine type channel geometry. In this study, a new channel geometry shows feasible to minimize lowering efficiency due to water condensation through numerical and experimental analysis.

  • As a result of increasing power demand and concern about power supply shortage in the world, various energy sources without depletion of fossil fuel are installed to electrical network. Above all, nuclear energy can be considered as the most economical energy source to generate electricity. But recently, due to problem of safety which has emerged as a key social issue, additional construction of nuclear power plants is difficult. In order to replace nuclear power, researches on the emergency generator have been actively conducting. This study conducted a survey of public institutions about specification of backup generator system and current states to secure available capacity.

연료전지기반 공동주택 에너지시스템 분석모델에 관한 기초연구 (A Preliminary Study on the Analysis Model of Energy System based on Fuel Cell for Apartment Houses)

  • In the present study, preliminary investigation were carried out by analysis of energy system(heat and electricity) based on phosphoric acid fuel-cell of 50 kW for eco-apartment houses. Analysis model were consisted of fuel cell energy system, secondary energy unit and residential building of 5 stories with 20 and 40 households. And the investigation results reviewed under load pattern of heat and electric power of the apartment houses. The results showed mismatch between the needed heat load pattern and output of fuel cell energy system. The mismatch rate were assessed about 10-180% of heat load for apartment houses with season. We found that secondary energy unit are needed in order to supply insufficient heat.

  • The object of this study was to develop an economic assessment program for the optimal design of the cogeneration systems composed of combining engine, generator, waste heat recovery exchanger, absorption chiller, and boiler, etc. The energy demand categorized by electric power, heating, cooling and water supply was determined by statistical data of the existing cogeneration systems. An economic assessment was performed by comparing the total cost of cogeneration system with that of non-cogeneration system. The total cost was evaluated by adding initial investment to operational cost considering efficiency of equipment, cost of equipment, fuel and electricity. To confirm the validity of the developed program, a hotel building with an area of $127,960m^2$ was selected, and the simulated results were compared with the measured data. The difference between the simulated and the measured values for the selected hotel building was approximately 12% for annual electric consumption.

  • A Distribution Automation System (DAS) is operated by monitoring and control of the field statesusing Feeder Remote Terminal Units (FRTUs) installed together withautomatic switches.An optimal placement of automatic switchescan enhanceefficiencyof the operation and restoration, and improve the power supply reliability ofa DAS.This paper proposes an algorithm to decide the optimal placement of automatic switches ina DAS.The proposed algorithm was developed ona DAS witha six sections and three links configuration. The proposed algorithm was provided inaneight-feeder power distribution system.

  • The main measurement uncertainty factors in DC high-voltage dividers for a national high-voltage standard are the measurement uncertainty of low-voltage arm and the stability of a high-voltage supply. In this study, the uncertainties by the two factors are greatly improved. As a result the measurement uncertainty for the DC high-voltage divider is reduced from $16{\times}10^{-6}(k=2)$ to $8{\times}10^{-6}(k=2)$ which is at international level.

  • Recently, Korea's electric industry has experienced substantial changes in its structure and function including the introduction of competition in the generation sector. Korea is in the early stages of market competition where the market price is determined by generation costs. In the future, the market Price will be determined by generators'bids. Therefore, the generators'profit is determined by market pool price, the prospects of pool price are very important for new capacity investment decision made by generators and IPPS. This study analyzes hourly marginal costs and LOLP considering basic generation mix and characteristics develops the relationship of pool price and Profit by generation-type using the change in reserve margin, and proposes basic direction for profits variation and supply-demand analysis in the electricity market in future.

  • In competitive electricity markets, the System Operator (SO) coordinates the overall maintenance schedules whenever the collective maintenance schedule reported to SO by Gencos in the pool does not satisfy the specified operating criteria, such as system reliability or supply adequacy. The SO's coordination usually involves sorts of financial conflict among Genco's. This paper proposes a coordination algorithm which minimizes the total financial loss of Genco's while satisfying the required operating criteria.
