  • This paper described an optimal control technique for position control of an inverter-fed PMSM drive. A control system of PM machine for position, speed and current control based on optimal sliding mode control system is discussed. This is an effective means to keep a system insensitive to parameter variation, disturbance and chattering reduction. The main purpose of the control is to improve the dynamic response of the PMSM with the load of the inertial plant. The optimal sliding mode control strategy is analyzed and the performance is investigated by the computer simulation using actual parameters of a drive system, Simulation results are given and discussed.

  • Generally, we made use of PID control for torque control, speed control and stability, Hence, dynamic characteristic of DC motor has been studied for stable drive and accurate speed control by many engineers. But, in this paper, we applied genetic algorithm to current control for robust control and stability In conclusion, we prove that current control of genetic algorithm can be high efficiency.

  • In this work the electrical characteristics of organic TFTs using organic insulator and flexible polyester substrate have been investigated. Pentacene and PVP(polyvinylphenol) are used as an active semiconducting layer and dielectric layer respectively. Pentacene was thermally evaporated in vacuum at a pressure of about $1{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr and at a deposition rate of $0.5{\AA}$/sec, and PVP was spin-coated. Aluminium and gold were used for gate and source/drain electrodes. 0.1mm thick flexible polyester substrate was used instead of glass or silicon wafer.

  • This paper presents a new PID control scheme based on the feedback of averaged derivatives to realize a noise-free differential control. The PID(Proportional, Integral and Differential) control is still one of the control methods in most wide use. In the paper, the conventional PID control adopting filtering technique is analyzed with new interpretation of filtering function. In order to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional PID control, this paper introduces the feedback of averaged derivatives in the noisy environment, and suggests a new PID control scheme using delay components to realize a noise-free differential control. The proposed PID control yields good performance much similar to the original system response in case of no noises. The proposed control scheme has been tested for the load frequency control of power systems.

  • In this paper, the vibration characteristics of a 2-phase Hybrid type Linear Stepping Motor(HLSM) are analyzed using the ACSL. A magnetic equivalent circuit is based on the structure of the HLSM, and then the electric equivalent circuit of the HLSM is derived by solving equations for the magnetic equivalent circuit. A normal force is calculated using FEM(Flux2D). And the vibration characteristics(Continuous vibration) of the HLSM are simulated by the ACSL with the voltage equations, the thrust equation, the normal force equation and the kinetic equation.

  • In this paper, we first implement the simulation environment to investigate the efficient control method of a Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) system with battery. The subsystems of a FCEV including the fuel cell system, the electric motor (including the power electronics) and the tansmission (reduction gear), and the auxiliary power source (battery) are mathematically fomulated and coded using the Matlab/Simulink software. Some examples are given to show the capabilities of the modeled system and d a basic control strategy is examined for the economic energy distribution between the fuel cell and the auxiliary power source. It is illustrated by simulations that the actual vehicle velocity follows the given desired velocity pattern while both SOC control and power distribution control are being performed.

  • This paper focuses on robust $H_{\infty}$ control for bilinear systems with time-varying parameter uncertainties and exogenous disturbance via output feedback. $H_{\infty}$ control is achieved via separation into a $H_{\infty}$ state feedback control problem and a $H_{\infty}$ state estimation problem. The suitable robust stabilizing output feedback control law can be constructed in term of approximated solution to x-dependent Riccati equation using successive approximation technique. Also, the $H_{\infty}$ filter gain can be constructed in term of solution to algebraic Riccati equation. The output feedback control robustly stabilizes the plant and guarantees a robust $H_{\infty}$ performance for the closed-loop systems in the face of parameter uncertainties and exogenous disturbance.

  • Motivated by the need fir developing the new method of weed control in place of chemical weedicide, this paper aims at making good use of electricity against environmental pollution. Compared with chemical weedicide, the electric method of weed control is functionally more versatile, effectively more rapid, and lower in terms of cost. In particular, this method will contribute to environmental protection. In detail the electrical weed control system which is the simple circuit for generating the electric current of high voltage is comprised of step-up transformer which rectifies the current and the capacitor which stores the energy. The effectiveness of electrical weed control system is evaluated by germination rate and control of Dgitaria Sangvinalis(Galinsoga ciliate). As a result, the electrical weed control system(high voltage spark discharge) can kill weeds effectively

Estimating Stability of MTDC Systems with Different Control Strategy

  • The stability of a multi-terminal direct current (MTDC) system is often influenced by its control strategy. To improve the stability of the MTDC system, the control strategy of the MTDC system must be appropriately adopted. This paper deals with estimating stability of a MTDC system based on the line-commutated converter based high voltage direct current (LCC HVDC) system with an inverter with constant extinction angle (CEA) control or a rectifier with constant ignition angle (CIA) control. In order to evaluate effects of two control strategies on stability, a MTDC system is tested on two conditions: initialization and changing DC power transfer. In order to compare the stability effects of the MTDC system according to each control strategy, a mathematical MTDC model is analyzed in frequency domain and time domain. In addition, Bode stability criterion and transient response are carried out to estimate its stability.

  • In this paper, we propose the LQ servo control method for the automatic train control of urban rail vehicle. Structures of the conventional PID control and LQ servo controller are compared in order to demonstrate the simplicity of the proposed controller which doesn't have zeros of the closed loop systems. The energy consumption is dealt with as an object function to be minimized, which consists of the quadratic performance indices for optimal control with the input of the feedback linearization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by the practical example, compared with the conventional PD controller.
