A Novel Fault Location Scheme on Korean Electric Railway System Using the 9-Conductor Representation

  • This paper presents a novel fault location scheme on Korean AC electric railway systems. On AC railway system, because of long distance, 40[km] or above, between two railway substations, a fault location technique is very important. Since the fault current flows through the catenary system, it must be modeled exactly to analyze the fault current magnitude and fault location. In this paper, suggesting the novel scheme of fault location, a 9-conductor modeling technique including boost wires and impedance bonds is introduced based on the characteristics of Korean AC electric railway. After obtaining a 9-conductor modeling, the railway system is constructed for computer simulation by using PSCAD/EMTDC. By case studies, we can verify superiority of a new fault location scheme and propose a powerful model for fault analysis on electric railway systems.

  • In this study, Bolsterless bogie with col spring suspension for KNR new electric locomotive developed by Daewoo Heavy Indutries LTD is introduced. Bogie is designed in order to have good ride comfort in high speed and easy maintenance and proved by the running test performed in korean railroad for 1 years.

  • Although insulation equipment is installed, it is inevitable to avoid the stray current because rail is the return way of the direct current that is power of electric motor car. In this paper, by the investigation of the present state of underground facilities, and looking into the reason of electric corrosion, and analysis of corrosion accident cases of inside and outside of the country, fundamental data, to reduce of stray current and to prevent electric corrosion, were accumulated to enhance the safety of railway operation service.

고속열차 산천 전장품 발열특성 측정 (Measurement of Thermal Characteristics of Electric Unit for Sancheon High-Speed Railcar)

  • 열차 운행에 따른 전장품들의 발열을 예측하기 위해 동력차 내 벽면온도 및 외부 유출 온도 및 풍속, 외부로부터 유입되는 유입 공기의 유입 온도 및 속도를 측정하였다. 이를 위하여 적외선카메라를 이용하여 고속열차 내부의 전장품 및 벽 표면의 온도를 측정하였다. 또한 전장품에서 발생하는 열은 고속열차 천장에 설치된 덕트를 통하여 외부로 배출된다. 배출되는 공기의 온도 및 속도를 측정하였고, 외부에서 동력차 내부로 들어오는 유입공기의 온도 및 속도도 측정하였다. 또한 부착형 온도센서를 이용하여 동력차 내부의 벽 및 전장품 표면에서의 온도를 측정하였다. 측정된 결과를 이용하여 열차 주행에 따른 전장품의 발열 특성을 분석하였다.

  • Most of the substations, which had been constructed so far, only took into account the current distortion as an evaluation factor for harmonics. There is, however, growing tendency for the currently constructed substations to construct transmission lines in an underground way. Therefore, the overhaul investigation on the psophometric current is all the more necessary. In this study, the harmonic current, the current distortion and the psophometric current, which flow into the substation in accordance with a feeding system and the number of trains in operation are investigated and compared based on the six-port analysis method of feeding system, which has been proposed.

Development for Tilting Train Dynamics Motion Base

  • This paper describes the construction of a half sphere screen driving tilting simulator that can perform six degree-of-freedom (DOF) motions simulator to a tilting train. The mathematical equations of Tilting Train dynamics are first derived from the 6-DOF bicycle model and incorporated with the bogie, carbody, and suspension subsystems. The equations of motion are then programmed by visual C++ code. To achieve the simulator functions, a motion platform that is constructed by six electric-driven actuators is designed, and its kinetics/inverse kinetics analysis is also conducted. Driver operation signals such as carbady angle, accelerator, and tilting positions are measured to trigger the Tilting dynamics calculation and further actuate the cylinders by the motion platform control program. In addition, a digital PID controller is added to achieve the stable and accurate displacements of the motion platform. The experiments prove that the designed simulator is adequate in performing some special rail road driving situations discussed in this paper.

  • 국내철도는 많은 철도선로를 전철화하고 있다. 25kV-60Hz 전철화구간에서 운행하는 전기차량으로 인하여 고조파에 대한 문제가 있다 이를 해결하기 위하여 AT급전방식에서의 고조파 특성을 해석하고 차량에서 발생하여 변전소로 유입되는 고조파를 저감시키기 위한 대책설비가 필요하다 여기에서는 지금까지 고조파 해석에 사용된 3종류의 고조파 해석모델과 기존선 전철화 과정에서 고조파 대책설비 설계에 대한 3가지 예를 보인다.

  • In recent years, energy prices have soared, which of course have increased costs for railway operators. Simultaneously, the energy market has considerably changed that in most developed countries, it is deregulated, giving railway operators an opportunity to define new ways of using energy. Efficient operation of the railway system is considered as an essential way to energy saving while an efficient management of power level helps to lower the reference subscribed power, giving access to better energy rates. It is studied on the relation between time and force for the energy efficient driving of train in railway when the train is braking according to several slips.

  • The electrified railway has various power supply schemes. Although the identical trains are operated in same condition and the impedance of track are equal, the genealogy impedance of track is changed according to composition method of feeding scheme. So, the collection voltage of train and supplying power from railway substation are greatly unlike. For simulation of collection voltage and power supply according to feeding scheme, using 6-port network analysis proposed previously simulate collection voltage and supply power according to feeding scheme(Parallel Post feeding system, normal feeding system and tie feeding system) and compare and investigate each characteristics.

  • 전기철도에서의 급전시스템은 레일을 귀선으로 사용하는 단상급전시스템을 사용하고 있다. 이에 따라 레일로부터 대지로의 누설에 의해 상당한 누설전류가 대지로 흐르게 된다. 대지로 흐르는 이 누설전류는 전자유도에 의해 선로 주변에 설치된 통신 케이블 또는 장치에 영향을 주게 된다. 더욱이 전기차의 견인시스템은 견인전동기를 제어하는데 있어서 스위칭 소자의 개폐에 의한 고조파 전류를 발생하고 있어 대지누설전류에 고조파 전류가 포함되어 흐른다. 본 연구에서는 전기철도 급전시스템에서 통신유도원인 대지누설전류에 따른 고려되어야 할 급전시스템 설계 파라미터를 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였으며, 이 결과가 향후 급전시스템 설계시 기본적인 지침이 되어야 할 것이다.
