A Novel Non-contact Measurement Method for the Detection of Current Flowing Through Concealed Conductors

  • In order to detect the current flowing through concealed conductor, this paper proposes a new method based on derivative method. Firstly, this paper analyzes the main peak characteristic of the derivative function of magnetic field generated by a current-carrying conductor, and a relationship between the current flowing through the conductor and the main peak of the derivative function is obtained and applied to calculate the current. Then, the method is applied to detect the conductor current flowing through grounding grids of substations. Finally, the numerical experimental and field experiment verified the feasibility and accuracy of the method, and the computing results show that the method can effectively measure the conductor current of grounding grids with low error, and the error is within 5 %.

가정용 전자기기의 잠재 상쇄 공급량 추정 (Estimation of Potential Supply of Offset from Household Electric Appliances)

  • 본 연구에서는 2015년부터 시행된 온실가스 배출권 거래제도에 맞추어 상쇄(offset)제도의 구체적인 설계가 필요한 시점에서, 가정부문의 고효율 전자기기의 보급을 통해 확보할 수 있는 잠재 상쇄 공급량을 추정하였다. 분석대상 품목은 TV, 세탁기, 선풍기, 냉장고, 에어컨 등 다섯 가지 가전기기이며, 자기회귀시차분포모형(ARDL)을 통해 2016년부터 2022년까지의 고효율 가전기기의 보급대수를 추정하고, 효율 개선을 통한 전기 절감량과 이에 따른 탄소 환산율을 통해 최종적으로 잠재 상쇄 공급량을 도출하였다. 고효율 가전기기의 에너지 절감률을 각각 10%와 20%로 가정했을 때 2022년에 누적된 탄소 저감량은 $361,899CO_2t$$723,797CO_2t$으로 나타났으며, 에너지 절감량이 큰 순서로는 에어컨, 냉장고, TV, 세탁기, 선풍기 순으로 나타났다. 또한 에너지 소비효율 1등급 가전기기의 에너지 절감률이 20%라고 가정했을 때, 누적 탄소 저감량이 2015년에 비해 2022년에 약 316% 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

Influence Analysis of Power Grid Harmonics on Synchronous Hydro Generators

  • The content of harmonic current increases with an increase in the number of power electronic devices in power grid. When a generator is directly connected to the power grid through a step-up transformer, the influence of the harmonic currents on the generator is inevitable. To study the influences of harmonics on generators, a 24-MW bulb tubular turbine generator is taken as an example in this paper. A 2-D transient electromagnetic field model is established. Through a comparative analysis of the data of experiments and simulations, the correctness of the model is verified. The values of the air gap magnetic density, torque and losses of the generator under various conditions are calculated using the finite element method. Taking the rated condition as a reference, the influence of the harmonic currents on the magnetic flux density is analyzed. It is confirmed that the time harmonic is a key factor affecting the generator performance. At the same time, the effects of harmonic currents on the torque ripple, average torque and eddy current loss of the generator are studied, and the mechanism of the variation of the eddy current loss is also discussed.

전기 자동차 가상 플랫폼용 배터리 모델 개발 및 검증 (Development of a Battery Model for Electric Vehicle Virtual Platform)

  • In this paper, a battery model for electric vehicle virtual platform was developed. A battery model consisted of a battery cell model and battery thermal management system. A battery cell model was developed based on Randles equivalent circuit model. Circuit parameters in the form of 3D map data was obtained by charge-discharge experiment of Li-Polymer battery in various temperature condition. The developed battery cell model was experimentally verified by comparing voltages. Thermal management system model was also developed using heat generator, heat transfer and convection model, and cooling fan. For verification of the developed battery model in vehicle level, the integrated battery model was applied in to EV(electric vehicle) virtual platform, and virtual driving simulation using UDDS velocity profile was conducted. The accuracy of the developed battery model has been verified by comparing the simulation results from EV platform with the experimental data.

  • When ions move in the air under an electric field, momentum is transferred from ions to neighboring particles. The wind is raised therefore, if the ion-flow is dominant in one direction. Using this mechanism, authors developed a fan which has no moving parts, and named it EHD AIR MOVER. This paper describes its theory with experimental results. Air velocity of 450ft/min is obtained by the ion current of 5*10$\^$-6/A/cm$\^$2/. Comparison of the theoretical calculation with the experimental data shows satisfactory agreement.

  • 선풍기 한 대 쯤 없는 집이 거의 없을 정도로 선풍기는 우리에게 매우 친숙한 가전제품중 하나이다. 이번에는 여름철의 풍물인 선풍기의 구조 및 원리 등에 대해서 살펴보도록 하겠다. 먼저 선풍기의 역사를 보면, 최초의 선풍기는 1600년대 천장에 매달아 놓은 추의 무게를 이용하여 기어장치의 회전축을 돌려 1장으로 된 커다란 부채를 시계추 모양으로 흔들어 바람을 일으키는 것이었다. 이어 1850년대는 현재의 탁상선풍기 모양으로 된 것에 태엽을 감아 사용하는 것이 고안되었다. 최초의 전기선 풍기는 T.A.에디슨이 발명하였으며, 이것이 점차 발달하여 보호망을 씌운 현재의 아름답고 정교한 것으로 진보되었다.

New Cooling System Design of BLDC Motor for Electric Vehicle Using Computation Fluid Dynamics Modeling

  • Overheating in electrical motors results in detrimental effects such as degradation of the insulation materials, demagnetization of magnets, increases in Joule losses, and decreases in motor efficiency and lifetime. Thus, it is important to find ways to dissipate heat from the motor and to keep the motor operating at its most efficient temperature. In this study, a new design to guide air flow through a given brushless direct current (BLDC) motor is developed and the design is analyzed, specifically by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The results showed that the temperature distribution in the three proposed models is lower than that in the original model, although the speed of the cooling fan in the original model reaches a very high value of $15{\times}10^3$ rpm. The results also showed that CFD can be effectively used to simulate the heat transfer of BLDC motors.

  • The motors faults including mechanical rotor imbalances, broken rotor bar, bearing failure and eccentricities problems are reflected in electric, electromagnetic and mechanical quantities. This paper presents a study and the practical implementation of an induction motor for reactor containment fan cooler in nuclear power plant with Electric Signature Analysis(ESA). The results obtained present a good degree of reliability hence; the ESA predictive maintenance tools enable a pro-active evaluation of induction motors performance prior to failure.

  • There is a growing concert about energy efficiency at the present time. Even refrigerators can not be omitted from this issue. So the factors have been searched to decrease the consumption of electric power in refrigerators. It is possible to analyze the numerical data of the cover back machine and the change of condenser shape to find that they affect the consumption of electric powers by improving the fluid flow of within the interior of the refrigerator. As a result, the problems, fluid of the eddy and stationary of the existing refrigerator can be solved partly by the improved model.
