  • This paper is about the energy efficiency calculation of operating electric motors in production facilities. The most important 1st step to efficient operation of plants is the evaluation of the energy efficiency of the production facilities in that plant. Through this procedure, we can decide that which facilities i.e. induction motors, in this paper, should do maintenance or not. There are mainly 2 types of energy which are used in production facilities, the one is electric energy and the other is heat energy but in order to make calculation simple, in this paper, we are only focusing on electric energy, efficiency and energy loss of the electric motors under operation conditions. As a case study, we chose electric motors in a certain process in a production facilities, and calculated efficiency and loss by using measured data.

전력수급계획 수립시 수요예측이 전원혼합에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Demand Forecast on the Energy Mix in the National Electricity Supply and Demand Planning)

  • 지식경제부(MKE)는 매2년마다 전력수급기본계획을 수립한다. 본 논문에서는 전력수급기본계획 수립시 전력수요를 과대 또는 과소로 예측한 것이 차기 전력수급기본계획 수립시 전원혼합(Energy Mix)에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 전력수요 자료는 2005년도에 예측한 제3차 전력수급기본계획의 전망치를 이용하였고 전원혼합을 도출하기 위하여 전력거래소(KPX)에서 활용하고 있는 WASP 전산모형을 단순화한 시뮬레이션 모형을 구축하였다. 2005년도 전력수요를 적정, 5% 과대 그리고 5% 과소 예측한 경우에 대하여 각각 단순화한 시뮬레이션 모형을 이용하여 2005년도 전력수급기본계획의 전원혼합을 도출하였다. 이 3가지 전원혼합을 초기조건으로 하여 2005년도의 적정 전력수요가 2007년 이후에 적용된다고 보고 2007년도에 차기 전력수급기본계획의 전원혼합을 도출하였다. 전력수요가 적정일 경우, 2005년도와 2007년도 전력수급 기본계획의 전력수요는 동일하므로 전원혼합에 변화가 없다. 전력수요를 5% 과대 또는 5% 과소 예측한 경우, 계획된 발전소 건설을 차기 전력수급기본계획 수립시 줄이거나 늘려야 하는데 건설기간이 짧은 LNG 발전소가 그 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Physical chemistry states that electric potential is due to Gibb's free energy from chemical reaction of the electric cell. However we have not the electromagnetic meaning of Gibb's free energy. the free energy is discovered to be a kinetic energy part of the rotating electromagnetic wave ($\pi$-ray), which is different from conventional Coulomb attraction energy and can anticipate that there is a current difference between before and after the electric load. This paper manipulates the relationship between $\pi$-rays (Gibb's free energy) and electrolysis, cell reaction and brown gas reaction.

  • In the DC electric railway system, the effective use of regenerative break energy is an important issue. Since regenerative break energy causes voltage rise or drop in the system, it should be also solved effectively. To solve the problems, applying electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) or voltage source converter (VSC) to the DC electric railway system has been studying. In this paper, the coordination of EDLC and VSC is proposed to solve the problem effectively with its coordinated control algorithm. The proposed method is tested to show its feasibility using Matlab/Simulink.

신재생에너지 예측을 위한 송전선로의 계량 데이터 계산 방법 (Calculation Method of Dedicated Transmission Line's Meteological Data to Forecast Renewable Energy)

  • This paper introduce Renewable Energy forecasting technology, which is a part of renewable management system. Then, calculation method of dedicated transmission line's meteorological data to forecast renewable energy is suggested. As the case of dedicated transmission line, there is only power output data combined the number of renewable plants' output that acquired from circuit breakers. So it is need to calculate meteorological data for dedicated transmission line that matched combined power output data. this paper suggests two calculation method. First method is select the plant has the largest capacity, and use it's meteorological data as line meteorological data. Second method is average with weight that given according to plants' capacity. In case study, suggested methods are applied to real data. Then use calculated data to Renewable forecasting and analyze the forecasting results.

  • 플러그인 하이브리드 전기자동차(Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, PHEV)는 하이브리드 전기자동차(Hybrid Electric Vehicle, HEV)의 일종으로, 배터리 용량을 HEV보다 더욱 증대시키고 배터리의 충전을 전력망으로부터 할 수 있도록 한 자동차이며, 순수 배터리 전기자동차(Plug-in Battery Electric Vehicle, PBEV)는 전력망으로부터 전기를 배터리에 충전하여 저장하고 배터리에 저장된 전기만을 이용하여 운전가능한 자동차이다. 최근에 PHEV와 PBEV에 대한 관심과 개발이 전세계적으로 급속하게 증가하고 있다. 그러므로 이들 전력망 충전식 전기자동차가 전력망의 전력수요에 미치는 영향을 검토하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 이들 PHEV와 PBEV 자동차의 보급으로 전력망의 전력수요, 이산화탄소 배출량과 차량구매자의 관점에서 운전비용에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 2020년경에 차량보급이 10%정도로 이루어질 것을 가정하여 영향을 분석하였다.

DC 1500V용 전철변전소의 회생전력량 분석 (Regenerative energy analysis in DC 1500V electric traction substations)

  • In DC 1500V electric traction substations, diode rectifiers are commonly used to supply stable DC power with electric train sets. However, it operates in the first quadrant of the voltage-current plane and thus needs regenerative inverters which transfer the surplus regenerative power caused by regenerative braking of electric train sets into the grid. In order to select the proper capacity and installation position of regenerative inverter, it needs to investigate the consumed and regenerative energy of the electric traction substations in advance. This paper presents an analysis of regenerative energy in two substations operating in Seoul line 2 and Kwangju line 1. DC line voltage and feeder currents are measured for a day to calculate consumed and regenerative power for four feeders. We calculated an amount of regenerative energy consumed in other feeders and estimated the cost reduction in energy consumption due to the reuse of regenerative energy.

5kW 용융탄산염 연료전지(MCFC) 이젝터 설계 및 시험 (The Ejector Design and Test for 5kW MCFC System)

  • An ejector is a machine utilized for mixing fluid, maintaining a vacuum, and transporting fluid. The Ejector enhances system efficiency, are easily operated, have a mechnically simple structure, and do not require a power supply. Because of these advantages, the ejector has been applied to a variety of industrial fields such as refrigerators, power plants and oil plants. In this work, an ejector was used to safely recycle anode tail gas in a 5 kW Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell system at KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute). In this system, the ejector is placed at mixing point between the anode tail gas and the cathode tail gas or the fresh air. Commercial ejectors are not designed for the actual operating conditions for our fuel cell system. A new ejector was therefore designed for use beyond conventional operating limits. In this study, the entrainment ratio is measured according to the diametrical ratio of nozzle to throat in the designed ejector. This helps to define important criteria of ejectors for MCFC recycling.

직렬형 하이브리드 자동차에서의 폐열 회수에 대한 연구 (Study on the Heat Recovery System in Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In recent, there are tremendous requirements to improve the fuel economy of vehicle. For satisfaction of requirements, Hybrid Electric Vehicle or other technologies are suggested and implemented. However, it should be noted that almost 35% energy loss is occurred in the shape of exhaust gas as ever. For increase the efficiency of vehicle, it is certain that the exhaust gas energy should be recover, and generate energy. In previous studies, the technologies such as turbo-compound, thermoelectric and rankine cycle are suggested to recover the exhaust heat energy in vehicle. But, they focus on the conventional vehicle or parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle has advantage that the engine and drive shaft are de-coupled. It means that the engine can be operated in high efficiency area regardless with vehicle states. Therefore, if rankine cycle is applied to series hybrid electric vehicle, operating condition of that becomes almost steady. So, in this study, theoretical analysis on the efficiency of rankine cycle applied to series hybrid electric city bus is carried and the energy recovered from exhaust gas during vehicle drive cycle is calculated.
