  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a day care center model focused on public health institutions for the elderly residing in their homes. Method: Research design for this study was a mult-level research, which consisted of a related literature review, an Internet search for knowledge of the current situation at home and abroad, on-site interviews, questionnaires collected from a sample of residents in a rural area, and a key-informants approach. Results: 1) The subjects of service - Generalized service should be provided to the elderly, 65 years and older, regardless of their assets. 2) The contents of service - Providing pre-health oriented and post-social welfare service that can integrate and satisfy a wide variety of public health and welfare needs of the elderly would strengthen the health care service of a day care center for the elderly. 3) Delivery system - Basic-level local self-governments should become a central operating body, and establishing a properly adjusted delivery system to a rural area after considering the efficiency and the access of vulnerable rural areas is needed based on modification of 'a Special Law for Agricultural and Fishery Areas' (rural public health center>rural health sub-center ${\rightarrow}$ unified health sub-center ${\rightarrow}$ public health hospital (public health center) ${\rightarrow}$ public welfare office). 4) Facility - Public health facilities such as public health centers and sub-centers should be located in areas that can easily access the facilities. 5) Funding - For day care center for the elderly in local self-government, the central government should modify a relevant implementation of subsidy in and provide some facilities and service regardless of the degree of self reliance of local self-government. 6) Human resources - It is needed to guarantee the period of workers of a day care center for the elderly, at least 3 to 5 years, with considering their specialty on aged care and avoiding circulation based positions. Furthermore, appropriate specially trained personnel such as medical workers and social workers should be placed to take care of both health service and welfare through strengthening of 'rules of law of elderly welfare,' Conclusion: future research is needed to test the model through a demonstration study using a model which may be developed in the future and to standardize the appraisal criteria of people hoping to enter a day care center for the elderly.

  • With the prolonged spread of the new coronavirus infection worldwide and the entry of the super-aged society, smart health care, which combines IT technology for senior health care and the health care industry, is emerging as a solution to the aging problem. The development of non-face-to-face care services using Ai is on a global trend, not in some countries, and the form of care services for the elderly using AI artificial intelligence technology is changing rapidly. The convenience of AI-based care services for the elderly is expected to be highlighted, and the technology and market are expected to develop significantly. As the number of single-person households is increasing, the shortage of welfare workers for the elderly is emerging as a social issue. It is presented as a vision to solve long-term social problems such as the labor shortage of elderly care workers as well as the advantages of convenient care services using IT technology. Therefore, we would like to propose the development direction of care services for the elderly as a case study of care services for the elderly and a countermeasure against the super-aging age.

  • This study is to examine the job satisfaction of the social workers who manage the elderly care service in country, in order to find political alternatives and practical strategies for improving job satisfaction. The Factors to effect on job satisfaction are categorized as three groups ; personal factors, working environment factors and service related factors. The survey was conducted by 231 social workers who participated in a national seminar among 244 elderly care facilities in country, and 220 effective data were collected. Which factors effected on the job satisfaction of social workers and how much effected on it by them were mainly analyzed. The mean of job satisfaction status was 3.01, which was slightly higher than average(2.5). Men had higher job satisfaction than women. The unmarried than the married, permanent workers than contract workers, and workers who didn't execute other jobs had higher job satisfaction also. And The main factors which effected on job satisfaction were sex among personal factors, the manager willingness and not executing other jobs among working environment factors, and service attitude among service related factors. Particularly, the manager willingness was shown to effect on job satisfaction the most, and then service attitude, not executing other jobs and sex effected on it in order. The result showed that the elderly care facilities which had stronger manager willingness and better service attitude provided higher job satisfaction, and men who didn't execute other jobs than women had higher job satisfaction. The job satisfactions of payment and benefits, employment stability, appropriateness of working amount and working time, working environment and welfare conditions were lower than average. Therefore, the strategies to improve the lower job conditions are promptly required. Above all, the low payment strategy that has not been increased at all for 3 years has to be changed. In addition, it is important for the social workers not to execute other jobs as much as possible in order to reduce working amount and working time appropriately. In conclusion, it is required to try to improve the job satisfaction of the social workers who are the core of human service continually, which will make the elderly care service successful and effectiveness improved.

The study was conducted on 371 doctors, nurses, and nurse's aides working at eight health centers, 15 nursing hospitals, and 30 university hospital institutions. Looking at the relationships between variables, this study found that knowledge of the elderly was a significant positive correlation with awareness of elder abuse(r=.14, p<.01), and burn out was a significant negetive correlation with job satisfaction(r=-.55, p<.01) and awareness of elder abuse(r=-.10, p<.05). Job satisfaction was a significant positive correlation with awareness of elder abuse(r=.13, p<.01). Awareness of elder abuse was a significant positive correlation with knowledge of the elderly(r=.14, p<.01) and was a significant negetive correlation with burn out(r=-.10, p<.05). As a result of this study, it is expected that Hospital workers can have a positive perception and attitude toward the elderly by reducing their burnout and improving their job satisfaction.

  • This study tested the path model with regard to how certain variables (control attribution, demand-control-support of activity, and control strategy) affected the elderly workers' subjective well-being(swb). In the path model, the exogenous variables were internal and external control attribution. We used demand-control-support of activity, and primary and secondary control strategies as mediating variables. The endogenous variable was each elderly worker's swb. Study participants were 205 elders participating in an "education activity". We used descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple regression to examine data collected from structured interviews with the participants. Path analysis revealed the followings: First, secondary control strategy was the strongest predictor of participants' swb but internal control attribution, demand of activity, and support of activity also positively affected participants' swb. Second, internal control attribution indirectly affected the participants' swb. Finally primary control strategy negatively affected on the participants' swb.

Interviews have been conducted with 100 care managers with structured questionnaires in community care settings. The findings of the study are as follows. In the analysis of working with carers a care manager acting as a counsellor in rural was required rather more than any other role in working with clients' carers. In working with formal and informal networks, an administrative specialist role was also important in both areas. With resource management, there were some regional variances between rural and urban. In the urban area, a care managers as a coordinator was more required than as a broker. In the rural area, a care manager as a broker, selecting service resources for elderly clients was the most suitable role. In conclusion, in general rural care managers' roles were similar to those of many core managers in urban area. Among the many possible roles of care managers that effective continuity of care is to be provided for elderly clients in community care, two have been specified as essential roles. The first is the role of care managers that provides coordination and integration of services at the clients' levels as a care manager as an implementer, a linkman, counsellor. The second is at the system level which is possible role for coordination and linkage of programs as a characteristics of care managers, task with formal & informal network, community resources, available residential & NHS resourcesw.

  • Workers who die from falls at construction sites account for about 40 percent of the total number of deaths and are the main forms of accidents. In addition, as the nation's population structure is gradually aging, the rate of aging is increasing at construction sites, and the number of crashes due to decreased physical function and cognitive ability is increasing. Accordingly, we conducted a survey on the factors affecting the fall of older workers and would like to present more fundamental measures to prevent falls, focusing on older workers who are the victims of the disaster.
