통신신호처리를 위한 Jacket 행렬의 특성(特性) (Characteristics of Jacket Matrix for Communication Signal Processing)

  • 1893년 불란서 Hadamard가 발표한 직교 Hadamard 행렬에 대해 이문호교수는 1989년에 Center Weight Hadamard로 새롭게 정의하여 발표했고 1998년에는 Jacket 행렬을 발견했다. Jacket 행렬은 Hadamard 행렬을 일반화한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 Symmetric Jacket 행렬을 구해 중요한 속성과 패턴을 분석하고 Jacket 행렬의 행렬식과 Eigenvalue을 얻는 방법을 제시하며 Eigen decomposition를 사용하여 이를 증명했다. 이러한 계산은 신호 처리 및 직교 코드 설계에 유용하다. 행렬의 체계를 분석하기 위해 DFT, DCT, Hadamard, Jacket 행렬로 비교해 본다. Galois Field의 대칭 행렬에서 Jacket 행렬의 element-wise inverse 관계를 수학적으로 증명하고 직교 성질 AB=I 관계를 유도했다.

  • Pogo is the instability resulting from the interaction between rocket structure and propulsion system of liquid propellant rocket. The coupling of structure and propulsion system can lead to severe problem in rocket. For the analysis of pogo, a time-invariant linearized mathematical model is developed for a selected flight time. Propulsion system is modeled using element representations for each components. The constitutive equation of propulsion system is a homogeneous second-order equation form in the Laplace domain. Rocket structure is modeled using FEM. From the results of modal analysis of structure, the behavior of structure can be represented. System equations for coupling structure and propulsion system are composed of all propulsion system equations and vehicle motion equations reacting on the vehicle by each component of propulsion system. The stability is obtained by the eigen solution of system matrix. The optimization of the design variables such as size, place of accumulator for suppressing pogo instability is carried out. This article of study can be used to determine the degree of stability, and guide the design of pogo suppression system.

  • The maximum likelihood estimators of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of $$\Sigma$$_1$^{-1}$$\Sigma$$_2$are shown to be the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of $S$_1$^{1}$S$_2$ under multivariate normality and are explicitly derived. The nature of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of $$\Sigma$$_1$^{-1}$$\Sigma$$_2$ or their estimators will be uncovered.

  • In this paper, robust adaptive control algorithms which can be applied to unknown uncertain systems are suggested. Transform matrix for dividing states into "uncontrolled" states and "controlled" states and general searching procedure for the transform matrix which assign arbitrary n-1 eigen values for the uncontrolled subsystem of n-th orther single-input single-output systems of which state variables can be observable are also studied and utilized for the design of new-type controllers. We drived new-type control laws by using adaptive control theory and variable structure system and its stability is proved by using Lyapunov stability theory.

  • The problem for parameters estimation of the received signals impinging on array sensors has long been of great research Interest in a great variety of applications, such as radar, sonar, and land mobile communications systems. Conventional subspace-based algorithms, such as MUSIC and ESPRIT, require an extensive computation of inverse matrix and eigen-decomposition In this paper, we propose a new parameters estimation algorithm via nonlinear minimization, which is simplified computationally and estimates signal parameters simultaneously.

  • The paper describes the formulation of state matrix equations from the linearized multi-machine power system including network dynamics and the application of IEEE First Benchmark Model. The eigenvalues of IEEE First Benchmark Model are investigated not only by changing the compensation of series capacitance at no-load conditions, but also by varying the generator loading at fixed compensation of capacitance. In addition, the pure electrical self-excited mode is also examined by an eigen analysis and time domain simulation.

  • In this paper, the theory of superresolution algorithms for estimation of directions of arrival of signals using eigen-structure analysis (mainly MUSIC algorithm)is described. Also, we apply MUSIC algorithm to circularly disposed antenna system, and simulate the angular resolution according to relative azimuth difference, S/N ratio, number of snapshots, so that we confirm the possibility of applications of MUSIC algorithm to sky wave in real situations.

4륜 조향시스템이 차량의 주행역학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of four-wheel steering system on vehicle handling characterisitcs)

  • Equipments of passenger cars with modern technologies are gaining their importance. Related with such developments, the four-wheel steering system (4WS) was introduced recently to a few passenger cars in the market. The most important research goal on this new steering system is improvement of active safety, in other words, improvement of handling characteristics of vehicle stability and maneuverability. This paper presents a computer-based study about the effects of 4WS system on the vehicle handling characteristics. A simple bicycle model of 2 d.o.f. is used for the development of four wheel control algorithms of 4WS system, and the rear wheel control strategies are applied to a complex vehicle model of 16 d.o.f. for simulation of selected ISO-driving tests. The 4WS systems, which reduce the sideslip angle at the mass center of vehicle to almost zero, show much improved handling characteristics compared to that of the conventional 2WS system. These 4WS systems, however, result in vehicles with eigen-steer characteristics of extreme understeer behaviour.

Robust suboptimal regulator design for linear multivariable system

  • In this study, a design method to obtain a robust suboptimal regulator for linear multivariable system is presented. This new design method is based on the optimal regulator design method using eigen-structure assignment and it uses additional cost function which represent robustness of the closed loop system. When we design the regulator using pole assignment method for linear multivariable system we have extra degree-of-freedom after assigning desired eigenvalues of the closed loop system in determining the feedback gain. So we assign additional robust suboptimal regulator. In this study we also feedback the system output for more practical applications.

  • Eigenvalue reduction schemes approximate the lower eigenmodes that represent the global behavior of the structures. In the previous study, we proposed a two-level condensation scheme (TLCS) for the construction of a reduced system. And we have improved previous TLCS with combination of the iterated improved reduced system method (IIRS) to increase accuracy of the higher modes intermediate range. In this study, we apply previous improved TLCS to multi-level sub-structuring scheme. In the first step, the global system is recursively partitioned into a hierarchy of sub-domain. In second step, each uncoupled sub-domain is condensed by the improved TLCS. After assembly process of each reduced sub-eigenvalue problem, eigen-solution is calculated by Lanczos method (ARPACK). Finally, Numerical examples demonstrate performance of proposed method.
