Relationships Among Emotional Support from Social Network, Ego-Resiliency, and Role Conflict of Teachers in Kindergartens and Day Care Centers (유아교육기관 교사의 사회적 정서 지지와 자아탄력성 및 역할갈등간 관계)

  • This study investigates the relationships among emotional support from social network, ego-resiliency, and role conflict of teachers in kindergartens and day care centers. The subjects were 192 teachers who worked in kindergartens or child care centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. Questionnaires, which require self-report by teachers, were used to investigate the emotional support from social network, ego-resiliency, and role conflict. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, single and multiple regressions, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results are as follows. (1) Emotional support from social network and ego-resiliency was negatively associated with the role conflict of teachers in kindergartens and day care centers. (2) Emotional support from social network was positively associated with ego-resiliency. (3) Emotional support from social network partly exerted indirect effects on role conflict mediated by ego-resiliency. But direct effect of emotional support from social network on role conflict was more than the indirect effect. These results indicate that a higher level of emotional support from social network is more likely to lower role conflict of teachers.

  • Social network analysis(SNA) has been recently applied to business areas such as social network services (such as Facebook and Twitter). In addition, the mobile telecommunication field attempts to analyze CDR(call detail record) data and apply customer relationship management and customer churn management through the use of social network analysis. The paper analyzes links between ego and alter based on ego-network and discovers four kinds of customer roles and then provides insights as a tool for customer relationship management or customer management.

An Efficient Algorithm for Betweenness Centrality Estimation in Social Networks (사회관계망에서 매개 중심도 추정을 위한 효율적인 알고리즘)

  • In traditional social network analysis, the betweenness centrality measure has been heavily used to identify the relative importance of nodes. Since the time complexity to calculate the betweenness centrality is very high, however, it is difficult to get it of each node in large-scale social network where there are so many nodes and edges. In our past study, we defined a new type of network, called the expanded ego network, which is built only with each node's local information, i.e., neighbor information of the node's neighbor nodes, and also defined a new measure, called the expanded ego betweenness centrality. In this paper, We propose algorithm that quickly computes expanded ego betweenness centrality by exploiting structural properties of expanded ego network. Through the experiment with virtual network used Barab$\acute{a}$si-Albert network model to represent the generic social network and facebook network to represent actual social network, We show that the node's importance rank based on the expanded ego betweenness centrality has high similarity with that the node's importance rank based on the existing betweenness centrality. We also show that the proposed algorithm computes the expanded ego betweenness centrality quickly than existing algorithm.

Local Information-based Betweenness Centrality to Identify Important Nodes in Social Networks (사회관계망에서 중요 노드 식별을 위한 지역정보 기반 매개 중심도)

Since the time complexity to calculate the betweenness centrality is very high, however, it is difficult to get it of each node in large-scale social network where there are so many nodes and edges. In this paper, we define a new type of network, called the expanded ego network, which is built only with each node's local information, i.e., neighbor information of the node's neighbor nodes, and also define a new measure, called the expended ego betweenness centrality. Through the intensive experiment with Barab$\acute{a}$si-Albert network model to generate the scale-free networks which most social networks have as their embedded feature, we also show that the nodes' importance rank based on the expanded ego betweenness centrality has high similarity with that based on the traditional betweenness centrality.

Enhanced Distance Dynamics Model for Community Detection via Ego-Leader

  • Distance dynamics model is an excellent model for uncovering the community structure of a complex network. However, the model has poor robustness. To improve the robustness, we design an enhanced distance dynamics model based on Ego-Leader and propose a corresponding community detection algorithm, called E-Attractor. The main contributions of E-Attractor are as follows. First, to get rid of sensitive parameter ${\lambda}$, Ego-Leader is introduced into the distance dynamics model to determine the influence of an exclusive neighbor on the distance. Second, based on top-k Ego-Leader, we design an enhanced distance dynamics model. In contrast to the traditional model, enhanced model has better robustness for all networks. Extensive experiments show that E-Attractor has good performance relative to several state-of-the-art algorithms.

Research Trend Analysis on Smart healthcare by using Topic Modeling and Ego Network Analysis (토픽모델링과 에고 네트워크 분석을 활용한 스마트 헬스케어 연구동향 분석)

  • Smart healthcare is convergence of ICT and healthcare services, and interdisciplinary research has been actively conducted in various fields. The objective of this study is to investigate trends of smart healthcare research using topic modeling and ego network analysis. Text analysis, frequency analysis, topic modeling, word cloud, and ego network analysis were conducted for the abstracts of 2,690 articles in Scopus from 2001 to April 2018. Topic Modeling analysis resulted in eight topics, Topics included "AI in healthcare", "Smart hospital", "Healthcare platform", "Blockchain in healthcare", "Smart health data", "Mobile healthcare", " Wellness care", "Cognitive healthcare". In order to examine the topic modeling results core deeply, we analyzed word cloud and ego network analysis for eight topics. This study aims to identify trends in smart healthcare research and suggest implications for establishing future research direction.

  • In recent university classes, consistent effort to improve co-operative interaction and communication between student and professor utilizing SNS(Social Network Service) is being made. This research conducted survey study with 137 pre-teachers in Daejeon & Chungnam area in order to find the relationship between pre-teachers' ego resilience, level of social support and awareness of the instructional outcome in classes that incorporate SNS. According to the result, it has been found that male's class satisfaction is higher than female's class satisfaction, while significant correlations have been found between ego resilience-social support, social support-class satisfaction, social support-semester satisfaction, and class satisfaction-semester satisfaction. Also, ego resilience and social support have significant effect on awareness of the instructional outcome. From these results, a rather close attention towards students' characteristics and their adaptation in class is needed in order to successfully carry out classes that incorporate various new media.

Combining Ego-centric Network Analysis and Dynamic Citation Network Analysis to Topic Modeling for Characterizing Research Trends (자아 중심 네트워크 분석과 동적 인용 네트워크를 활용한 토픽모델링 기반 연구동향 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The combined approach of using ego-centric network analysis and dynamic citation network analysis for refining the result of LDA-based topic modeling was suggested and examined in this study. Tow datasets were constructed by collecting Web of Science bibliographic records of White LED and topic modeling was performed by setting a different number of topics on each dataset. The multi-assigned top keywords of each topic were re-assigned to one specific topic by applying an ego-centric network analysis algorithm. It was found that the topical cohesion of the result of topic modeling with the number of topic corresponding to the lowest value of perplexity to the dataset extracted by SPLC network analysis was the strongest with the best values of internal clustering evaluation indices. Furthermore, it demonstrates the possibility of developing the suggested approach as a method of multi-faceted research trend detection.

Analysis to Customer Churn Provoker's Roles Using Call Network of a Telecom Company (소셜 네트워크 분석을 기반으로 한 이동통신 잠재고객 이탈에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, we investigate how churn customers (who play a central connector or broker role) affect other customers' churn in their call networks with ego-network analysis using call data of a mobile telecom company in Korea. As a result of investigating Reciprocal Network, we found a relationship of attrition among churn customers. Churn provokers who influence other customers' attrition exist in customer churn networks. The characteristics of churn provokers is that they play a central connector and broker role in their groups. The proportion of churn provokers increases and the churn provoker's influence increases because the network is a reciprocal one.

  • This paper used the network analysis method to analyse a variety of attributes of searcher's search behaviors which was appeared on search access log data. The results of this research are as follows. First, the structure of network represented depending on the similarity of the query that user had inputed. Second, we can find out the particular searchers who occupied in the central position in the network. Third, it showed that some query were shared with ego-searcher and alter searchers. Fourth, the total number of searchers can be divided into some sub-groups through the clustering analysis. The study reveals a new recommendation algorithm of associated searchers and search query through the social network analysis, and it will be capable of utilization.
