도루묵, Arctoscopus japonicus의 산란용 조림초 개발 (Development of artificial spawning seaweeds of the sandfish, Arctoscopus japonicus)

  • To develop the artificial spawning seaweeds of the sandfish, Arctoscopus japonicus, the effects by the material type of artificial spawning seaweeds were investigated at Dongsan port in Gangwon-do from December 2006 to March 2007. Sargassum fulvellum, S. horneri, rope and net were used as materials for artificial spawning seaweeds, and the most effective thing among them was S. fulvellum. A. japonicus began to attach the egg mass to artificial spawning seaweeds when sea temperature dropped below 10${^{\circ}C}$ in December, spawned heavily when it was around 8${^{\circ}C}$ in January, and completed the behavior when it started to increase over 10${^{\circ}C}$ in February. The hatching period of eggs was estimated to be about 60 days. The middle position in artificial spawning seaweed had the highest number of egg masses and the diameter of the egg mass ranged from 25mm to 62mm. Based on the result for the effects, the artificial spawning seaweeds of A. japonicus were developed and it is possible to use them to form seaweed forests or spawning grounds of other species.

진해만에서의 청어(Clupea pallasii) 산란장 분포와 특성 (Distribution and Characteristics of Pacific Herring Clupea pallasii Spawning Beds in Jinhae Bay, Korea)

  • The distribution and characteristics of spawning beds of the Pacific herring Clupea pallasii, were observed by scuba diving in Jinhae Bay, Korea, with a focus on marine vegetation as adhesive substrates and egg density during the spawning season. In 2017, the fertilized eggs of C. pallasii were mainly found attached to the leaves of algae species Carpopeltis cornea, Gracilaria textorii, and Acrosrium polyneurum at the rocky shore in Wonpo-dong and Jeodo. The mean density of fertilized eggs in C. pallasii spawning beds was $153,776eggs/m^2$ off Wonpo-dong and $856,430eggs/m^2$ off Jeodo, giving an estimated total of $5.345{\times}10^9$ eggs in Wonpo-dong and $3.3074{\times}10^{10}$ eggs in Jeodo. We examined spawning beds with an area of $38,619m^2$ off Wonpo-dong and $34,760m^2$ off Jeodo. The choice of spawning bed may be affected by the composition of marine vegetation, such as the algal diversity of rocky shore environments, which could affect adhesive substrates and egg density during the spawning season. The results of the present study suggest that the spawning season of C. pallasii in Jinhae Bay is in January to mid-February.

산란기간중의 붉바리 난질 변화 (Qualities of spawned eggs during the spawning period in red spotted grouper, Epinephelus akaare)

  • 산란기간중 붉바리의 난질 변화를 알아보기 위해 1992, 1993, 1995년도에 채란한 알의 산란, 부화, 난경 및 먹이무공급 생존지수(SAI) 등을 조사하였다. 붉바리의 산란은 수온이 23-$28^\circC$인 7월 중순에서 8월 중순 사이에 이루어졌다. 산란기간중 알의 부상률, 수정률, 부화율은 산란 후반기보다는 대체로 전반기 및 중반기에 높은 것으로 나타났다. 부화자어의 SAI는 1.8-9.6으로 나타났는데, 개구시까지 자어의 생존율과 SAI 사이에는 높은 상관관계가 있었다. 산란기간중 난경의 변화는 1992, 1993, 1995년 모두에 있어 산란 전반기에서 후반기로 갈수록 작아지는 경향을 보였다. 유구경은 난경과는 달리 산란기간중 큰 변화가 없었다. 태반 성성숙자극 호르몬 주사에 의한 인공채란은 어체 1 kg 당 5,000 IU이상의 HCG를 주사함으로써 가능하였다. 인공채란한 알의 부상률, 수정률, 부화율은 자연채란난보다 높은 것으로 나타나, 일시에 대량의 수정난을 확보할 수 있는 유용한 방법으로 생각된다. 자연산란된 알의 난질은 산란전기나 중기가 비교적 좋은 것으로 나타나, 종묘생산을 위한 알은 이기간 동안의 것을 이용하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 산란 성기중에도 난질의 변화가 크기 때문에 부화율, 기형률, 개구시까지의 생존율 및 SAI 등을 종합적으로 고려해야 할 것으로 생각된다.

Spawning Characteristics and Artificial Hatching of Female Mottled Skate, Beringraja pulchra in the West Coast of Korea

  • The gonadsomatic index (GSI) of mottled skate was the highest in April, GSI and HSI showed a reverse phase for its reproductive cycle. The fish had one pair of egg capsules, having 1 to 7 fertilized eggs, and spawned all the year round. When surveying the reproductive characteristics of females over 63 cm in disc width, we found the spawning peak was between April to June, and the appearance ratio of egg capsules was the highest in May (32.1%). The eggs were hatched at $8^{\circ}C$, $13^{\circ}C$, $18^{\circ}C$, water temperature (12.8 to $24.2^{\circ}C$), and the best hatching temperature was $18^{\circ}C$. The number of fish hatched was 4 to 5 fish/egg capsules, and the hatching rate was 100%. The sex ratios of hatching larvae were 45.5% female and 54.5% male. Therefore this study will provide fundamental data and information for artificial reproduction of the mottled skate.

  • Gonadal development, gametogenesis, reproductive cycle, and first sexual maturity of Reishia clavigera were investigated monthly from July 1998 to June 1999 through cytological and histological observations. R. clavigera had separate sexes, and was an internal fertilizer. The ma1e penis was located near the two tentacles. The ovary and testis were composed of a great number of oogenic lobules and spermatogenic tubules, respectively. The size of ripe oocyte ranged from 130 to 140 ${\mu}$m in diameter. The peripheral cytoplasm of the germinal vesicle of the ripe oocyte in many cases were surrounded by smaller yolk granules, while the eccentric cytoplasm was occupied with larger ones. The reproductive cycle of R. clavigera could be classified into five successive stages: early active, late active, ripe, spawning, and recovery. Spawning of females occurred from early July to August when the seawater reached above 24.8$^{\circ}C$. Spawning of males occurred from early June to August in the water above 22.8$^{\circ}C$. Minimum size for sexual maturity of both sexes was above 10.0 mm in shell height. Each egg capsule was a cylinder or spindle in shape, 4-6 mm in length and 1-2 mm in width. Colors of newly spawned egg capsules showed yellowish white or pale yellow, while those with veliger larvae showed pale black, and released larvae or dead egg capsules showed black violet. The fecundity in an egg capsule ranged from 70 to 91 eggs (mean=80.28 eggs).

  • Timing of oviposition, nuclear maturation of oocytes, egg-sperm contact and brooding were observed in the giant fresh-water prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii reared in the laboratory. When a pre-spawning molted female was transferred to the male, the female oviposited commonly at 5 to 10 hr after mating. The first polar body were extruded within 2-3 min after spawning. The egg chromosome progressed to release second polar body by 30 min and mitotic nuclear division occurred in 8 hr after spawning. Thumbtack-shaped spermatozoa were seen peneterating egg membrane with their spike directed forward. Transformation of spermatozoa and fertilization membrane could not be observed by light microscopy. The elapsed hours from oviposition to the end of brooding wee taken in 5-7 hr. Brood size for female 9 cm and 18 cm in body length was estimated to be 10,000~15,000 and 100,000 eggs, respectively and is proportional to the total length of the berried females. The ovigerous females reared at chlorinity of 2.21~4.25$\textperthousand$Cl. showed a normal egg development up to hatching.

멸종위기종 감돌고기 Pseudopuntungia nigra의 일중 산란 타이밍 및 초기 산란 위치 (The Best Spawning Timing in a Day and the First Spawning Position of Korean Endangered Fish, Pseudopuntungia nigra (Teleostei: Cyprinidae))

  • 2009년 5~7월까지 전북 진안군 주천면 주양리에 위치한 주자천에서 감돌고기의 일중 산란 타이밍 및 초기 산란위치에 대한 연구를 실시하였다. 감돌고기의 산란은 5월 7일부터 7월 11일까지 이루어졌으며 꺽지 산란장에만 탁란을 했다. 61개 꺽지 산란장 중 56개의 산란장에 탁란했으며, 꺽지 산란 후 1~2일 사이에 시작되었다. 하루 중 감돌고기의 탁란은 꺽지의 공격횟수가 낮게 나타난 6~7시 사이에 가장 높은 빈도로 관찰되었다. 감돌고기가 탁란한 알의 부화율은 지속적인 꺽지의 산란장 방어와 가장 밀접한 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 감돌고기는 자신의 알을 중심으로 난 보호를 하는 꺽지 난괴와 가까운 곳부터 산란을 함으로써 꺽지의 난 보호를 통한 이득을 얻는 것으로 생각된다.

한국 남해에 출현하는 먹장어 Eptatretus burgeri의 재생산 특성 (Reproduction characteristics of hagfish Eptatretus burgeri in the South Sea of Korea)

  • The reproduction characteristics of hagfish Eptatretus burgeri were examined using individuals caught in the South Sea of Korea. The spawning season and size at minimum sexual maturity of this species were characterized based on a gonad-somatic index (GSI) and monthly variation egg size (long axis). From monthly variation of GSI, the spawning season was estimated to be from August to September. Developing eggs larger than 10 mm were found in March, and the largest egg size was found in July. The first spawning length was 34.2 cm TL. Batch fecundity ranged from 13 to 117 eggs for hagfish sized from 34.2 cm TL to 77.0 cm TL, respectively, and increased linearly with total length.

  • 2015년 5~6월에 전라북도 남원시 식정동 섬진강 수계 요천에서 한국고유종 섬진자가사리 Liobagrus somjinensis의 자연산란장 11개 지점에 대한 특징을 조사하였다. 자연산란장은 하상기질에 따라 256 mm 이상의 큰돌 (boulder)이 놓여진 상부와 자갈 (pebble)과 모래 (sand)로 이루어진 하부로 구분되었다. 큰돌 아래의 자연산란장은 작은 구멍 안에 난괴 (egg mass)를 형성한 알 덩어리와 섬진자가사리 1개체 (수컷)가 위치하였고 어떠한 저서성 무척추동물이나 유기물이 없는 깨끗한 상태였다. 알은 구형의 노란색으로 투명한 막으로 둘러싸여 있었고 알 크기는 $3.31{\pm}0.15mm$ (n=30)로 나타났다. 큰돌 아래 자연산란장에서 확인된 각 알 덩어리는 유사한 발생단계였고 각각은 상실기에서 안구 형성기까지 나타났다. 11개의 자연산란장에서 확인된 알수는 평균 $121{\pm}35.5$ (84~176)개였고 암컷의 난소에서 확인된 포란수는 $143{\pm}31.3$ (110~232)개였다.

꼬막 (Tegiilarca granosa) (Linngeus)의 산란유발 및 난 발생과 초기 유생 사육 (Spawning Inducement, Egg Development and Early Larval Rearing of Ark Shell (Tegillarca granosa) (L.))

  • Spawning induction, egg development and larval growth of ark shell (Tegillarca granosa) (L.) were investigated. The most effective method of spawning induction was steady temperature increasing from$4^{\circ}C\;to\;28^{\circ}C$ with irradiation of sea water by UV after T. granosa was exposed to air at $4^{\circ}C$ Optimum condition for larval roaring was under the 32.4 psu and two temperature $regimes:\;28{\pm}1^{\circ}C\;and \;25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Fertilized eggs was demersal isolated eggs, and egg diameter was $60{\mu}$. D-shaped larvae appear about 20 hr after hatching with $94.1{\mu}$ in shell length and $86.7{\mu}$ in shell height. Ten days were required from hatching to umbo larva stage, of a mean shell length $125.2{\mu}$. On 25th day, the larva grew to $450{\mu}$ in shell length and began to settle on the bottom. Effect of temperature between $25^{\circ}C$ (control group) and $28^{\circ}C$ on larval growth was not different. Survival rate of larvae settled on the bottom was about $19{\%}$ in both temperatures conditions $(25^{\circ}C\;and\;28^{\circ}C)$.
