DEA를 활용한 R&D 프로젝트의 효율성 비교 : 산업기술사업을 중심으로 (Comparing Efficiencies of R&D Projects Using DEA : Focused on Industrial Technology Program)

  • In this paper, scale efficiencies and relative efficiencies of R&D projects in Industrial Technology Program, sponsored by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea, are calculated and compared. For the process, various DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) models are adopted as major techniques. For DEA, two stage input oriented models are utilized for calculating the efficiencies. Next, the calculated efficiencies are grouped according to their subprograms (Industrial Material, IT Fusion, Nano Fusion, Energy Resources, and Resources Technology) and recipient types (Public Enterprise, Large Enterprise, Medium Enterprise, Small Enterprise, Lab., Univ., and etc.) respectively. Then various subprograms and recipient types are compared in terms of scale efficiencies (CCR models) and relative efficiencies (BCC models). In addition, the correlation between the 1st stage relative efficiencies and the 2nd stage relative efficiencies is calculated, from which the causal relationship between them can be inferred. Statistical analysis shows that the amount of input, in general, should increase in order to be scale efficient (CCR models) regardless of the subprograms and recipient types, that the 1st and 2nd stage relative efficiencies are different in terms of the programs and recipient types (BCC models), and that there is no significant correlation between the 1st stage relative efficiencies and the 2nd stage relative efficiencies. However, the results should be used only as reference because the goal each and every subprogram has is different and the situation each and every recipient type faces is different. In addition, the causal link between the 1st stage relative efficiencies and the 2nd relative efficiencies is not considered, which, in turn, is the limitation of this paper.

초소형 유기랭킨사이클 적용 프로토 타입 베인 팽창기에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Vane Expander Prototype Applied to Micro Organic Rankine Cycle)

  • 본 연구에서는 프로토 타입 베인 팽창기가 적용된 초소형 유기 랭킨사이클을 구성하고, 팽창기 전단 온도가 약 $110^{\circ}C$이고, 냉매유량을 일정하게 유지한 조건에서 베인 팽창기 회전수를 변화시키면서, 팽창기 출력, 효율 및 팽창기 전후단 압력, 온도 등을 측정하였다. 베인 팽창기 성능 측정 결과 팽창기 회전수가 증가됨에 따라 팽창기 출력 및 효율이 증가하였다. 팽창기 전효율은 500 rpm 회전수 조건에서 6~7%이고, 1000 rpm 에서는 11~12%임을 보였다. 팽창기 전효율이 낮은 원인은 팽창기 체적효율이 낮기 때문인 것으로 분석되었으며, 향후 체적효율을 향상시키기 위해 팽창기 누설을 개선하기 위한 연구가 진행될 예정이다.

Estimating State-Level Matching Efficiencies in the Indian Labor Market

  • We analyze state-level matching efficiencies in the Indian labor market using stochastic frontier analysis. The key contribution of this research is the estimation of matching efficiencies at the state level because these can be used for a state-level measure of labor market conditions. Next, we explore the relationship between the estimated matching efficiencies and population density, labor market flexibility, and the Ease of Doing Business index, respectively. The results show that matching efficiency is heterogeneous across states with considerable variation in accordance with the regional diversity in India. However, we find that there is little relationship between the estimated matching efficiencies and the labor market conditions of interest, suggesting that other regional diversity affects matching efficiencies across states in India.

Biological Treatment of Nutrients and Heavy Metals in Synthetic Wastewater Using a Carrier Attached to Rhodobacter blasticus

  • The removal efficiencies of nutrients (N and P) and heavy metals (Cu and Ni) by Rhodobacter blasticus and R. blasticus attached to polysulfone carriers, alginate carriers, PVA carriers, and PVA + zeolite carriers in synthetic wastewater were compared. In the comparison of the nutrient removal efficiency based on varying concentrations (100, 200, 500, and 1000 mg/L), R. blasticus + polysulfone carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 98.9~99.84% for N and 96.92~99.21% for P. The R. blasticus + alginate carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 88.04~97.1% for N and 90.33~97.13% for P. The R. blasticus + PVA carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 18.53~44.25% for N and 14.93~43.63% for P. The R. blasticus + PVA + zeolite carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 26.65~64.33% for N and 23.44~64.05% for P. In addition, at the minimum inhibitory concentration of heavy metals, R. blasticus (dead cells) + polysulfone carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 7.77% for Cu and 12.19% for Ni. Rhodobacter blasticus (dead cells) + alginate carrier treatment showed removal efficiencies of 25.83% for Cu and 31.12% for Ni.

흡착관과 탈착용매에 따른 나프탈렌의 탈착효율에 관한 연구 (Study on desorption efficiency of naphthalene by adsorbing media and desorbing solvent)

  • This study was performed to propose appropriate conditions suited to the analysis of naphthalene by comparing desorption efficiencies under various conditions. 1. As to influence by adsorbing media and desorbing solvent on desorption efficiency of naphthalene, when adsorbed by CCT, o-xylene gave the highest desorption efficiency of $73.96{\pm}0.53%$ while the lowest of $1.14{\pm}0.03%$ desorbed by ether. Both XAD-2 and Chromosorb 106 showed around 90% of desorption efficiencies for each solvent, especially desorption efficiencies more than 95% were achieved when adsorbed by Chromosorb 106 and desorbed by $CS_2$ or o-xylene. 2. Desorption efficiencies descended over the storage period in any condition(p<0.05). For all three adsorbing media, while desorption efficiencies showed no significant difference(p>0.05) between room temperature and refrigeration a day of loading, samples kept in room temperature had higher desorption efficiencies than refrigerated ones in 7 and 14 days with significant difference(p<0.05).Also, desorption efficiencies dropped drastically in 7 days, from that point the decreasing tendency went mild. 3. When respective 1 TLV and 0.1 TLV of naphthalene were spiked on CCT and desorbed by CS2($46.45{\pm}0.59%$ vs. $30.15{\pm}0.81%$), o-xylene($73.96{\pm}0.53%$ vs. $67.51{\pm}1.34%$), and ether($1.14{\pm}0.03%$ vs. N.D.) desorption efficiencies increased as the amount of loading increased(p<0.05).On the other hand, naphthalene spiked on XAD-2 and Chromosorb 106 indicated no significant difference(p>0.05) in desorption efficiencies between 1 TLV and 0.1 TLV. In conclusion, in order for favorable desorption efficiencies of naphthalene it is important to select appropriate adsorbing media and desorbing solvent accordingly. The result revealed that adsorbing media of XAD-2 and Chromosorb 106 outperformed CCT and desorbing solvents of $CS_2$ and o-xylene achieved over 90% of desorption efficiencies when adsorbed on XAD-2 and Chromosorb 106. Also, considering the tendency that desorption efficiencies of naphthalene decrease with time, the samples should be analyzed as soon as possible.

  • The extraction efficiencies of panaxynol and panaxydol were optimal at 80$^{\circ}C$ with soxhlet method. The extraction efficiencies increased up to 45$^{\circ}C$ with shaking method. Amounts of panaxynol and panaxydol were determined by gas chromatography. Extracted quantities of panaxynol and panaxydol using the shaking method increased over a period of 14 hours. The efficiencies of panaxynol and panaxydol extraction by soxhlet and shaking methods were higher for smaller particle sizes. Upon water swelling treatment, extraction efficiencies of panaxynol and panaxydol decreased gradually with time for both methods.

  • For the HST(Hydrostatic Transmission) consisted of a variable displacement axial piston pump and motor, a speed controller with efficiencies considered is proposed. To consider a efficiency in speed control, the displacements of pump and motor which maximize a steady state efficiencies with a various load torque are calculated through computer simulation and these results are reflected to speed controller which has PI control structure with cross over control scheme. It is shown through computer simulation that the proposed controller gives better steady state efficiencies compared with the conventional controller and good transient responses.

대덕전파천문대 13.7 M 전파망원경의 효율

  • We determined the efficiencies of the aperture. beam and forward spillover and scattering of 13.7 m radio telescope at Daeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory through the observations of the planets and Moon. The main panels adjustments were carried out on September 1991 and the improvements in the efficiencies were checked by comparing the observations made before and after the panel adjustments. The efficiencies were turned out to be 0.35, 0,47 and 0.83 at 115.27 GHz for the aperture, beam and forward scattering and spillover. respectively. These marked nearly a factor of two upgrade of the efficiencies previously measured.

  • This study mainly concentrated on the treatment of nightsoil by an anaerobic filter media process. Nightsoil has been one of the major water pollutants in this couotry. It represents high ROD and SS concentrations. A comprehensive laboratory study conducted at Kangwoon National University indicate: (1) In the case of anaerobic filter system, COD and BOD removal efficiencies were greatly influenced by hydraulic retention time(HRT), but SS removal efficiencies dropped slowly when HRT were 2~13 days. (2) COD removal efficiencies were 19% when HRT were 15 days, 14% when HRT were 8 days, 10% when HRT were 6 days, 9% when HRT were 4 days, 2% when HRT were 2 days. (3) BOD removal efficiencies were 23% when HRT were 15 days, 14% when HRT were 8 days, 18% when HRT were 6 days, 7% when HRT were 4 days, 5.8% when HRT were 2days. (4) SS removal efficiencies were 21%~25%(2~15 days HRT).
