  • The dielectric effects on the parasitics of bondwires buried in slightly-lossy dielectric materials hav been investigated over a wide frequency range using the method of moments with incorporation of ohmic and dielectric losses. The FR-4 composite is widely used as a basis material for PCB and plastic packages, because of it sinherent electricl and chemical stbility and low cost. The cole-cole model, which is representative complex permittivity model of epoxy polymers, has been applied to consider the dielectric effects in the MoM calculation. The prasitic impedance of a grounded bondwire in FR-4 composite is greatly increased due to the dielectric loading effect enhanced by the radiation at high frequencies. These calculation results will be helpful for designing and packaging of high-frequency low-cost IC's.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of smart learning in both general education and fisheries & marine education through meta-analysis. To find the effects size, we had collected 112 studies from graduation theses and journal articles. Followings are the results of the research: (a) Smart learning turns out to be more statistically effective comparing to traditional education. The total effect size of smart learning is .768 and the value of U3 is 61.50%. (b) There is no significant difference between general education and fisheries & marine education in the view of effect size. (c) There is a significant difference in subjects, type of publication, and size of members in experimental group. High school student group has the most effect size of smart learning.

  • When assessing goodness-of-fit of a model, a small subset of deviating observations can give rise to a significant lack of fit. It is therefore important to identify such observations and to assess their effects on various aspects of analysis. A Cook's distance measure is usually used to detect influential observation. But it sometimes is not fully effective in identifying truly influential set of observations because there may exist masking or swamping effects. In this paper we confine our attention to influential subset In GLMs such as logistic regression models and loglinear models. We modify a backwards stepping algorithm, which was originally suggested for detecting outlying cells in contingency tables, to detect influential observations in GLMs. The algorithm consists of two steps, the identification step and the testing step. In identification step we Identify influential observations based on influencial measures such as Cook's distances. On the other hand in testing step we test the subset of identified observations to be significant or not Finally we explain the proposed method through two types of dataset related to logistic regression model and loglinear model, respectively.

  • Nanofluids have been studied as possible alternatives for heat transfer fluids to improve the efficiency of heat exchangers. There are deviations of measured effective thermal conductivities between research-groups, and the mechanisms of the effective thermal conductivity enhancement of nanofluids are not confirmed yet. In this study, the effects of particle shape on the effective thermal conductivity enhancement are discussed and presented as a possible explanation of the deviations. The particle motion effect is found to be negligible for nanofluids of high aspect ratio cylindrical particles, which is believed to be important for nanofluids of spherical particles, while the percolation network formation and contact resistance play dominant roles in determining the effective thermal conductivity.

  • Objective: Through the literatures on the effects of Buthus martensii Karsch, we are finding out the clinical possibility and revealing the more effctive to intractable diseases. Method: We investigated the literatures of Oriental Medicine and experimental reports about Buthus martensii Karsch. Results: 1. The taste of Buthus martensii Karsch is salty, hot and toxic, and the effect of this is tetanus, headache, facial palsy and convulsion. 2. The venom of Buthus martensii Karsch is anaesthetic and toxic protein, composed of buthotoxin, lecithin, trimethylamine, betaine, taurine, cholesterol, stearic acid and palmitic acid and similar to the snake venom. 3. The pharmacological effects ofButhus martensii Karsch are anti-convulsion, depressor, anesthesia, anti-thrombosis and anti-cancer. 4. Symptoms of Buthotoxin poisoning are local pain, vomiting, fever, hypertension and palpitaion, and critical condition to Dyspnea, coma and death.

  • The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of laser on a base metal alloy for dental casting. In this study, microhardness, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, interaction behavior of metal-ceramic interface, and bond strength were tested before and after the laser treatment for metal-ceramic alloy. The conclusion arised from this study are as follows: 1. The hardness of lased area was higher than that of unlased area. 2. The corrosion resistance was higher in lased specimen than in unlased specimen. 3. the wear resistance was higher in Iased specimen than in unlased specimen. 4. The EDAX showed that Mo, Si and Al were increased in lased surface but Ni and Cr not increased. 5. The SEM of lased area revealed a typical microstructure. 6. The bond strength of lased specimen was increased in 11.2% than of unlased specimen.

  • In this study, we studied the nature of thin films formed by photodoping chalcogenide materials with for use in programmable metallization cell devices, a type of ReRAM. We investigated the resistance of Ag-doped chalcogenide thin films varied in the applied voltage bias direction from about 1 M$\Omega$ to several hundreds of $\Omega$. As a result of these resistance change effects, it was found that these effects agreed with PMC-RAM. The results imply that a Ag-rich phase separates owing to the reaction of Ag with free atoms from the chalcogenide materials.

  • Engine valve seat is a functionally important part for maintaining engine performance. The progress of automotive technology has increased the severity of conditions to which it is exposed, especially as regards LPG fuel engines and turbocharger. Therefore, it requires excellent heat and wear resistance to meet the severe condition inside the engine. In the present study, effects of solid lubricants such as CaF$_2$, MnS and MoS$_2$ on microstructure and mechanical properties of sintered Fe alloys for valve srats have been investigated for the development of valve seat material with high temerature wear resistance. As a results of engine simulation test, 0.5 wt% CaF$_2$ specimen showed the most excellent property, but in the overall aspect of view valve recession has increased with increasing the amount of solid lubricants.

  • Composite ${\pi}$-structure analysis has been proposed for predicting relative isomer stabilities based on nonbonded effects: all the possible crowded ${\pi}$-structures are identified for each isomer, and the systems are represented by abbreviated notation of $(n{\pi}/m)$ : then using simple rules and additivity of the nonbonded effects, the order of stability can be determined. A number of examples are given in support of this analytical procedure.

  • Cinnamaldehyde is the main component of cinnamon bark oil and show several biological activities such as anti-tumor, anti-fungal, anti-mutagenic and anti-inflammatory effects. A couple of studies have investigated how the natural compound exerts its anti-inflammatory effect. In despite of numerous investigations, the biological mechanism of effects belong to cinnamaldehyde remain unclear. We isolated 2-hydroxycinnamaldehyde(HCA) from the bark of Cinnamomun cassia Blume and reported a various of biological activities of HCA. (omitted)
