Recently, shifting channel power is forcing supply chain to take back products. As you can imagine returned product has always been a problem for all parties in the supply chain due to the disruption in operations and a headache in processing returned products. Therefore, every member of supply chain should respond to reverse logistics activities particularly for the return handling process. Under such a strong demand of efficient and cost effective reverse logistics activities, particularly for the return handling process, the information system should be implemented and participated in intensively. This study analyzed the reverse logistics information factors for environmental conscious logistics system limited to returns from customers/consumers. The results provide reverse logistics information factors based on the return handling process which can be used as benchmarking for companies seeking implementation of an efficient return handling system.

While environmental concern is urging shipbuilding industry to reduce pollutant emission, it is necessary to design environmental friendly vessels. LNG as fuel for ship propulsion is proven to be effective way to reduce pollutant emission. In this study, we find optimum position of LNG fuel supply system on AHTS by considering vessel characteristic. Three different positions of fuel supply system are studied in this paper. Factors such as stability, strength and safety are examined in each position of fuel supply system.
The purpose of this study was to identify effective methods to minimize increases in intracranial pressure(IICP ) during endotracheal suction by means of comparing two methods of hyperventilation and oxygen supply before and after endotracheal suction. In order to evaluate the effects of these two methods, the ICP during suctioning and the sustained time of IICP were measured. For hyperventilation, ambu-bagging was done 10 times for 30 seconds with a tidal volume of 800-900m1. For oxygen supply, 100 percent oxygen was supplied for 2 minutes before and after suction. The subjects for this study were 12 neurosurgical patients who had had a subarachnoid bolt inserted for ICP monitoring and they were all on mechanical ventilatory support in a surgical intensive care unit of Seoul National University Hospital from July 1, 1991 to March 31, 1992. In each patient hyperventilation was performed five times and oxygen supply was given five times and intracranial pressures were measured immediately before and every 30 seconds for 15 minutes after suction. For case assignments counterbalancing and repeated measure designs were combined. And so the total number of experiments were sixty for each group. The effects of hyperventilation and oxygen supply on the IICP and the sustained time of IICP after suction were analyzed by t-test. The results of study were as follows 1. There was a significant difference between the two groups in the increased ICP during suction (t=2.49, p=.014). 2. The sustained time of IICP after suctioning in the oxygen supply group was shorter than that in the hyperventilation group(t=2.35, p=.020) In summary, the Increase in the ICP during suction was lower and the time for the ICP to return to the presuction level was shorter in the oxygen supply group as compared to the hyperventilation group. Therefore, oxygen supply can be re commended before and after endotracheal suction.
This study was performed to investigate the supply and demand of the oriental medical doctor(OMD) based on the supply and demand analysis of OMD up to the year 1997. The baseline projection and demographic methods were considered to examine the supply of OMD. On the contrary, for the demand analysis, two different approaches were conducted with the nonlinear regression model. The findings of this study indicate that the OMD will be oversupplied before the year 2012 with decreasing rate. However, when we consider the demand of OMD in the future. it is anticipated that the demand of oriental medicine will be increased rapidly with two major aspects. The first is the expansion of insurance benefits. The second is the increasing number of adult diseases because of the aging of the population structure. Therefore, the effective cooperation system and mutual exchange between western and oriental medicine is required for the future. Also. it is necessary to make the oriental medicine of the pharmaceutical services in more scientific way for the appropriate policy of the demand and supply of OMD. For the future study, the students who study abroad, especially China should be considered. These students will be the key element for the future supply of OMD.

Background : Because hospitals had to faced with financial hardship, we have to have more effective hospital management. In this study, we tried to improve job performance and to reduce cost maintaining safety in fields of patients care. Methods : Central Supply Room(CSR) staffs taught strategy of material cost reduction to middle level managers and staffs 14 times. All staffs and voluntary service workers, working in 33 nursing units, participated in this activity. We developed questionnaire to check the degree of participate in cost reduction activity and job performance in CSR, and quality improvement in the wards. Two hundred questionnaires were distributed and 197 returned. Results : Because CSR staffs developed new items and every item was managed at each department, stocks of each department were reduced. Overall, by comparing before and after cost reduction activity, almost 1.2 billion won reduced for one year. Staffs' loyalty and spirits of cost reduction were improved by changing clothes and duty environment. Furthermore, these activity improved patients' satisfaction. Conclusion : We suggest that CSR activity in a university hospital contributes to improve job performance and to reduce cost without any problem in patient care.
Since the development of water resources is getting more difficult than ever before because of human-sociological condition, it would be necessary to develop a practically applicable technique for the management of water resources based on demand-side concept that could reduce unusable release for more effective and appropriate allocation of limited water resources. The objective of the study is to develop an optimal reservoir system operation model for water supply and energy augmentation by the combination of water budget analysis method in downstream area by MIP technique. The applicable study of the developed model was carried out and water supply capability of Nakdong river basin was re-evaluated by the developed model. The model has been found successful to guarantee appropriate water supply to the basin by means of deficit-supply management method and also turned out to be more practical tool for an optimal reservoir system operation model than other existing models.
The purpose of this study is to estimate the forward impact of water supply bottleneck using a supply-side input-output model. The failure cost analysed in this study can be used to estimate the values of the water supply reliability and can provide the bases of policy decision for the effective reallocation when water supply constraint will occur. So the position of water supply in the national economy is identified, and direct and indirect impacts are estimated by means of the interindustry analysis. Also the failure cost index is suggested to determine the prior order of water supply important in drought. By the way, the occurrence of drought having regional properties, the failure cost of the regional level using a national input-output table may be overestimated or underestimated. For the preceding reason, the failure cost estimated by a national input-output table is compared with and analysed to a regional input-output table for Kyung- Nam.g- Nam.
With the globalisation of the world's economies and the increasing role of multinational corporations in the generation of knowledge, global research and development (R&D) activities in emerging countries are following a new trend. This paper describes case studies of two large companies and discussion of the motives (demand vs. supply) and tasks (demand-driven vs. supply-driven) of R&D activities outside their home country. This work is based on an analysis of four overseas R&D units of two Korean ICT companies - here, ICT refers to goods and services in the information technology and communication technology fields - in India and China. The research findings are as follows: (1) The overseas R&D activities of Korean ICT enterprises in emerging countries may be driven by a combination of demand and supply factors of host countries; and (2) Korean overseas R&D centres in emerging countries may need to carry out both demand- and supply-driven tasks in view of the overlap between demand and supply factors of the host countries. Based on the results of this research, the following policy implications can be drawn for encouraging more effective overseas R&D activities of Korean enterprises in emerging countries. First, the government needs to expand the support systems so that enterprises can manage local R&D centres more effectively and actively use the variety of local support systems and useful information. Second, the government needs to expand the support systems so that the overseas R&D centres of Korean enterprises revitalise collaborations with locally excellent universities and research institutions.

The construction Supply Chain Management(SCM) plays a critical role to proceed construction projects successfully. It is necessary to develop a system to support better communication among various actors and to supply construction materials in the right place on time with unstable situations on site according to the planned construction schedule for effective Supply Chain Management. Therefore, the objective of this study is to propose an automated and intelligent process that can be used to utilize ubiquitous technologies in construction supply chain management. This process consists of various equipments that can collect, store, calculate and communicate data among themselves. This study deals with a conceptual idea in order to improve process and equipment in the supply chain management process.
Total organic carbon (TOC) will replace chemical oxygen demand ($COD_{Mn}$) as an effluent water quality standard in public sewage treatment works (PSTWs) from 2021 in Korea. To ensure effective control of TOC in the effluent, investigation was carried out into TOC levels and sewage treatment operation factors in five target PSTWs using anaerobic-anoxic-aerobic ($A_2O$) processes, media, membrane, and sequencing batch reactor (SBR) technologies. TOC removal efficiencies appeared to be 93-96% on average. As a fraction of TOC, biodegradable dissolved organic carbon (BDOC) was reduced from 64% in the influent to 9% in the effluent in these PSTWs. During the investigation, biological treatment processes were applied flexibly for operation factors such as HRT, SRT, MLSS, F/M ratios and BOD volume loads, based on the influent characteristics and design conditions. As a result, we suggest efficient operating conditions in PSTWs by evaluating relationships between TOC removal and operation factors.
