비대칭(非對稱) 단면(斷面) 보강재(補剛材)의 강도해석(强度解析) (On the Strength Analysis of the Stiffener with Asymmetric Cross Section)

  • In the conventional ship's structures, the stiffeners with asymmetric sections have been widely used, in spite of the disadvantage on the point of strength, compared to those with symmetric sections. So far, the stiffened plating was usually analyzed not considering the geometric unsymmetry characteristics of the section, including only the cross sectional area and moment of inertia. In this paper, the stiffened plating is devided into the strips having a thin-walled open cross section by using the concept of the effective width. The geometric characteristics of the sections are also included. The governing equations are derived, which can be applied to the arbitrary cross section beams, and the symmetric and the asymmetric section beams which have the same cross sectional areas are analyzed by using the finite element method. From that result, we obtain the allowable load of the two sections, and compared them.

  • ATM(automated teller machine) is a machine which can deposit and withdraw money directly. For effective transfer of bills in the machine, crown belts are used. In this paper, the transverse vibration of crown belt is investigated. The equation of motion of the belt is derived using Lagrange's equation. Galerkin's method is applied to convert the partial differential equation to the ordinary differential equations. Experimental investigations are performed on the belt system with the variation of pulley type, eccentricity, and tension. The results of numerical analysis show in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • An experimental method to identify the rigid properties (mass, moment of inertia, center of mass) of mounted structures is presented. A direct system identification method is developed and applied to identify the mass, damping and stiffness martix directly from the translational response of vibration testing. Conventional method is sensitive to noise since it needs artificial rotational response of temporary center of mass which is made by the linear transformation of translational response. A presented method needs only the translational response, and it is robuster to noise than conventional method. Several experimental and numerical implementations show the presented method is effective.

  • Concrete beams reinforced with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bars exhibit large deflection and crack width as compared to concrete beams reinforced steel due to modulus of elasticity of FRP bars. Current design code for prediction and crack width developed in concrete structures reinforced with steel bars may not be used for concrete beams reinforced with FRP bars. Thus a number of researcher have attempted to propose modifications to the ACI 318 empirical equation for estimating the effective moment of inertia of reinforced concrete beams. Others used numerical method to calculate the deflection. The purpose of this paper is to evaluation of methods of ACI 440.1 R-01, ISIS Canada design manual, and others for predicting deflection for glass fiber reinforced polymer reinforced concrete beams.

인공신경회로망에 기초한 직류모터제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on DC Motor Control based on Artificial Neural Networks)

  • In this paper, we assume that the dynamics of DC motor and nonlinear load are unknown. We propose an inverse dynamic model of DC motor and nonlinear load using the artificial neural network and construck speed control system based on the proposed dynamic model. We also propose another dynamic model with speed prediction scheme using the artificial neural network that removes the undesirable time delay effect caused by the computation time during the real-time control. We suggest a dynamic model which has arbitrary number of speed arguments and is especially effective when the motor and load has large moment of inertia. Next, we suggest a controller that combine the neurocontrol and PID control with constant gain. We show that the proposed neurocontrol systems have capabilities of noise rejection and generalization to have good velocity tracking through computer simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper, the eigenvalue sensitivity of vehicle powertrain was investigated by analytic method. The powertrain system was considered as a rigid body with multiple engine mounts, and the engine mounts were supposed as three linear springs in three orthogonal directions. The design parameters for the sensitivity analysis were engine mount properties (positions, stiffness, and orientations) and powertrain properties (mass, second moment of inertia, and center of gravity). Firstly, an effective form of eigenvalue problem for the powertrain system was introduced. Then, the analytic sensitivity of eigenvalue was derived using the equation. Lastly, the derived sensitivity equation was applied to a real powertrain system to provide its correctness and applicability.

  • This paper presents a new control scheme using a sliding mode controller with a multilayer neural network for the robot manipulator operating under the sea which has large uncertainties such as the buoyancy and the added mass/moment of inertia. The multilayer neural network using the error back propagation loaming algorithm acts as a compensator of the conventional sliding mode controller to improve the control performance when the initial assumptions of uncertainty bounds are not valid. Computer simulation results show that the proposed control scheme gives an effective path way to cope with the unexpected large uncertainties in the underwater robot manipulator.

Analysis of R/C frames considering cracking effect and plastic hinge formation

  • The design of reinforced concrete buildings must satisfy the serviceability stiffness criteria in terms of maximum lateral deflections and inter story drift in order to prevent both structural and non-structural damages. Consideration of plastic hinge formation is also important to obtain accurate failure mechanism and ultimate strength of reinforced concrete frames. In the present study, an iterative procedure has been developed for the analysis of reinforced concrete frames with cracked elements and consideration of plastic hinge formation. The ACI and probability-based effective stiffness models are used for the effective moment of inertia of cracked members. Shear deformation effect is also considered, and the variation of shear stiffness due to cracking is evaluated by reduced shear stiffness models available in the literature. The analytical procedure has been demonstrated through the application to three reinforced concrete frame examples available in the literature. It has been shown that the iterative analytical procedure can provide accurate and efficient predictions of deflections and ultimate strength of the frames studied under lateral and vertical loads. The proposed procedure is also efficient from the viewpoint of computational time and convergence rate. The developed technique was able to accurately predict the locations and sequential development of plastic hinges in frames. The results also show that shear deformation can contribute significantly to frame deflections.

시공하중 및 균열 효과를 고려한 플랫 플레이트의 처짐 산정 (Calculations of Flat Plate Deflections Considering Effects of Construction Loads and Cracking)

  • 테두리 보에 의한 휨강성이 확보되지 않은 철근콘크리트 플랫 플레이트의 구조설계는 강도 조건 뿐만 아니라 사용성에 의하여 지배받을 수 있다. 특히, 조기 재령 슬래브의 과하중 작용 및 균열 발생은 시공 중인 플랫 플레이트의 처짐을 크게 증가시키므로, 시공 순서 및 슬래브 처짐에 대한 영향은 플랫 플레이트 시스템 설계의 주요한 요소가 될 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 시공 순서 및 콘크리트 균열 효과를 고려한 슬래브 처짐 산정 과정을 제안한다. 시공단계 및 시공하중이 간편법에 의하여 정의되고, 각 시공단계별로 슬래브 모멘트 및 탄성 처짐, 유효단면2차모멘트가 계산된다. 주열대와 중간대에서의 탄성 처짐은 유효단면2차모멘트 효과에 의해 비탄성 처짐으로 증폭되며, 슬래브 중앙부 처짐은 교차보법에 의하여 산정된다. 제안된 방법은 기존 실험 결과 및 비선형 해석 결과와의 비교를 통하여 검증된다. 또한, 제안법의 적용을 통하여, 시공 중인 플랫 플레이트의 처짐에 대한 시공주기 및 동바리 지지 층 수의 영향이 분석된다.

철근콘크리트 보의 균열폭과 처짐 관계 (Relationship between crack width and deflection in reinforced concrete beam)

  • 철근콘크리트 구조물의 사용성을 검토할 때 처짐은 가장 중요한 사항 중 하나이며, 철근콘크리트 휨 부재의 처짐은 일반적으로 유효 단면2차모멘트의 개념을 적용하여 구해진다. 그러나 이미 사용중인 철근콘크리트 보에서 정확한 사용하중을 알기 어려운 경우에는 기존의 방법으로 처짐을 계산하는 것이 쉽지 않다. 따라서, 이 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 보에서 균열과 처짐은 상호 밀접한 관련이 있다는 사실을 바탕으로 작용하는 하중의 크기에 무관하게 철근 콘크리트 보 부재의 균열 상태로부터 처짐을 쉽게 산정할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 하였다. 균열폭의 합, 평균변형률 및 곡률 등의 관계를 이용하여 처짐식을 제안하였으며, 수정계수를 적용하여 보다 정확한 처짐식을 제안하고자 하였다. 이 제안식을 사용할 경우, 철근콘크리트 보에 작용하는 하중 크기에 무관하게 균열을 측정함으로써 처짐 추정치를 얻을 수 있으며, 유효 단면 2차 모멘트 값을 산출하여 처짐을 산정하는 기존의 방법에 비해 비교적 간단하게 처짐을 산출 할 수 있다. 그러나, 하중에 관계없이 균열폭으로만 처짐을 추정하므로 기존의 처짐 예측식에 비해 정확도가 다소 낮을 수 있으며, 부재의 전 구간에 걸친 균열폭 측정이 수행되어야 하는 한계성이 있다.
