The aim of this study is to assess the impacts of service properties, price expectancy, social influences, and switching costs on adoption intention of 4G in Vietnam. The research model was established by the theory of diffusion of innovation, technology acceptance model, service quality, social influences and switching costs. The result from customers using telecommunication services in Vietnam shows that adoption intention of 4G is affected directly by perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, price expectancy, social influences, prior service quality and switching costs. Whereas, switching costs have negative effect on adoption intention. Other factors such as personal innovativeness, perceived ease of use and prior service quality have an indirect effect on adoption intention of 4G.
Purpose: The application of IoT is finding continuous acceptance in our daily lives, particularly, smart speakers are making life easier and convenient for consumers. This research aims to develop and test an integrated model of factors influencing consumer's adoption of voice-enabled IoT devices. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the VAM, an integrated voice-enabled IoT device adoption model is proposed. Gender differences on five constructs relating with perceived value (perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, perceived security risk, perceived technicality and perceived cost) was also examined through PLS-MGA technique. The usage experience of consumers was also controlled in the integrated VAM. Findings: Result shows that Perceived-Usefulness, Perceived-Enjoyment and Perceived-Cost have a strong effect on Perceived-Value. However, Perceived-Technicality and Perceived-Security-Risk are non-influential and have no significant effect on PV. Additionally, Perceived-Value and Social-Influence plays a significant role in predicting adoption intention. Gender differences also exist in consumers perception of usefulness, enjoyment and cost. In comparison to the basic value-based adoption model, the integrated model provides more insight on consumers adoption of voice-enabled IoT devices. Originality/value: Using an integrated model, this study is one of the first scholarly attempt at modelling the influential factors for adopting smart speakers i.e., voice-enabled IoT devices, with implications for improved adoption.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting on pre-service early childhood teachers' adoption intention of Robot-based education. For this purpose, the survey was conducted on 259 college students and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 23.0. T-test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the differences of adoption intention and predictive factors according to pre-service early childhood teachers' background variables. In addition, multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to analyze influence of perceived ease of use, perceived efficacy, innovative will, and social effect on adoption intention. The results were found that adoption intention and predictive factors did not show any significant difference according to background variables and that perceived ease of use and perceived efficacy influenced on pre-service early childhood teachers' adoption intention. Moreover, innovative will and social effect had an effect on perceived ease of use and perceived ease of use and social effect had an effect on perceived efficacy.
Technological advances are bringing autonomous vehicles to the ever-evolving transportation system. Anticipating adoption of these technologies by users is essential to vehicle manufacturers for making more precise production and marketing strategies. The research investigates regulatory focus and consumer innovativeness with consumers' adoption of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and to consumers' subsequent willingness to pay for AVs. An online questionnaire was fielded to confirm predictions, and regression analysis was conducted to verify the model's validity. The results show that a promotion focus does not have a significantly positive effect on the automation level at which consumers will adopt AVs, but a prevention focus has a significantly positive effect on conditional AV adoption. Consumer innovativeness, consumers' novelty-seeking have a significantly positive relationship with high and full AV adoption, and consumers' independent decision-making has a significantly positive effect on full AV adoption. The higher the level of automation at which a consumer adopts AVs, the higher the willingness to pay for them. Finally, using a neural network and decision tree analyses, we show methods with which to describe three categories for potential adopters of AVs.
Purpose - This study aims to examine new product adoption (NPA) in the context of clothing in Iran. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were gathered from cloth owners in Iran, focusing on famous cloth brands cloth. Further, using the proportionate stratified sampling method, a total 438 usable questionnaires were returned and analyzed through the use of structural equation modeling (SEM). In addition, LISREL software was used to analyze the data collected through the structured questionnaires. Results - Overall, the study findings indicate that education has a positive effect on new product adoption, whereas the impacts of religion and Attitude towards Consumption (ATC) on new product adoption are negative and significant, but the effect of age, peers, and income on new product adoption is not significant. Conclusions - Using date obtained from a large random sample of Iranian consumers, this study offers a deeper understanding of the attitudinal and personal antecedents of consumers' new product adoption in an emerging market. Using the findings of the articles and conclusions will be useful for market researchers and, of course, business persons.
Given the increasing of adoption of the SCM(Supply Chain Management), especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, this study aims at identifying the key influencing factors of small and medium-sized enterprises' SCM adoption. Based on prior research on innovation diffusion theory, TPB(Theory of Planned Behavior), and IT/EDI adoption in various organizations, a model of SCM adoption has been developed and empirically tested hypotheses based on the model. The model was tested using LISREL analysis on the sample collected from 127 small and medium-sized enterprises' top management. The results show that perceived behavioral control is found to have a significant positive effect on adoption intention, and attitude and subjective norm are also important determinants of SCM adoption intention in small and medium-sized enterprises. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.
Purpose: this study investigates the effect of private health insurance on healthcare utilization. Methodology: For the analysis, we employed the three level nested two part model. Findings: the private health insurance adoption was associated with higher health care utilization. In particular, indemnity and fixed insurances adoption was associated with higher probability of outpatient visit, the number of outpatient visit and outpatient cost. While indemnity insurance adoption was associated with higher inpatient admission probability and inpatient days, fixed insurance adoption was associated only with higher inpatient admission probability. Practical Implications: indemnity and fixed insurance adoption were related with the adverse selection as well as moral hazard.
As information technology rapidly develops and the period required to enter new technology shortens, there emerges a wide variety of alternatives for consumers. When there are many alternatives in the market, users choose after making comparisons. This process of making comparisons is our research key. We established a research model to find a mixed effect that comes from new attitudes to technology adoption and alternative's continuous usage intention. The effect is revealed through a relative attractiveness (RA) factor to explain a user's process of comparison. We empirically test our research model in the new media services, such as mobile TV, web TV, and mobile IPTV. According to our research results, a continuous usage intention of an existing technology is an important factor to explain the adoption of a new technology. So, the contribution of our research is in finding a role for the RA factor in research in new technology adoption.
Purpose - People have long thought that disorderly space would influence their lives negatively. However, disorderly space may have positive impact such as increasing sales for new products for store managers. Borrowing the prior findings that disorderly space enhances creativity, we developed two hypotheses regarding space order, product newness, and new product adoption. We hypothesize that space order negatively influences new product adoption and that the proposed negative effect of space order on new product adoption is moderated by product newness. Research design, data, and methodology - We conducted a pre-test in China using 70 undergraduate students to test whether two newly developed cosmetic products were appropriate for the experimental stimuli. We confirmed that a fragrance patch concept, which is unavailable in the market, is a RNP (Really New Product), and an edible fragrance, which is available in the market, is an INP (Incrementally New Product). Next, we conducted a main experiment with a 2 (Space order: orderly vs. disorderly) × 2 (Product newness: RNP vs. INP) between-subjects design in China using 100 undergraduate students. Half of the participants answered questions on the disorderly desk and the other half answered questions on the orderly desk. Results - We obtained evidence from the main experiment that consumers' new product adoption is the function of space order and product newness. First, participants were more likely to adopt the RNP when they were in the disorderly space than in the orderly space. However, the effect of space order on new product adoption disappeared when the product was INP; the adoption rates for the INP did not differ between the participants who answered questions on the disorderly desk and the participants who did so on the orderly desk. Conclusions - Our findings are counter intuitive. Contrary to the conventional wisdom that neat and tidy space benefits store managers, the research demonstrated that disorderly space increases sales, providing fresh insights into store managers to manage their stores and shops to sell new products. In order to help store visitors understand the value of really new products, store managers will have to sacrifice space order to some extent.
