A Study on the Architectural Considerations of the Educational Community Facilities in Apartment Housing (공동주택단지 내 주민교육시설의 건축적 고려사항에 관한 연구)

  • The trend toward more welfare living because of more leisure time has influenced the popularity of the community facilities in apartment housing. According to the residents' increasing interests for well-being life the changes and developments of the community facilities have been required in these days. The purpose of this research is to study these required changes and developments by analyzing the resident's using behavior of community facilities in apartment housing focusing on the educational and cultural facilities. For this purpose, this research intends to examine the existing conditions and problems of educational and cultural community facilities in apartment housing and to analyze the residents' using patterns such as frequency, preference and satisfaction and to comprehend the additional needs and requirements of the residents. The conclusions and suggestions of this research can be a basic data for the architects to design a resident-oriented educational and cultural community facilities.

  • To provide a better educational environment for education, sufficient research in the educational facilities should be carried out. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to establish a direction in research field of educational facilities. To achieve this aim, the purpose of education and the purpose of educational facilities for its sufficiency is established, and through the investigation on the composition realm of educational facilities, the direction of related study field and realm of study is shown. The results are shown as table 12 and table 13, of which the research direction is concerned with table 12, and the model of method is concerned with table 13.

  • This analysis of the educational facility planning is based on the various career, with historical backgrounds from white color, blue color to steel color, idea color, related to the planning of educational curriculum for all levels (from K-12 to higher education). The results of the analysis show that an institution for the research & development of educational facilities through the researchers and practioners occupied with architectural planning, designing and with educational curriculum planning, designing of the educational environments, is timely needed. It is fortunate that function of such institute can be carried out by Korean Educational Facility Institution which enables to research and develop educational facility in collaborative with architects and educators together. CEFPI research and development findings about educational facilities can be applied to our research and development, for the various career of our future students, with the various educational plannings.

Effects of Educational and Cultural Facilities on Housing Prices in Seoul from an Accessibility Perspective

  • Background and objective: A great deal of previous research has highlighted the value of educational and cultural facilities embedded in housing prices, by taking a large spatial area as the focus, such as the city or district level. However, few studies have investigated the extent to which educational and cultural facilities influence the formation of housing prices from an accessibility perspective. This study aims to identify the value of educational and cultural facilities embedded in the housing prices in Seoul Metropolitan City with a focus on the concept of the residents' neighbourhood and accessibility. Methods: To this end, this research used a spatial regression model with educational and cultural facilities as the independent variables and housing prices as the dependent variable. The model assessed the accessibility of cultural and educational facilities by considering geographic effects. Results: The findings are as follows. First, the spatial error model was found to be the best fit for multi-unit housing, while the spatial lag model was more appropriate for single-unit housing and apartments. Second, private educational facilities and art museums had positive effects on single- and multi-unit housing prices, while historical sites had a negative effect. Finally, private educational facilities positively influenced apartment prices, whereas public libraries and urban park areas had a negative effect. Conclusion: These findings indicate that the accessibility of educational and cultural facilities reflects residents' preferences and needs, which will ultimately influence housing prices.

Interior Therapy Cases Analysis of Youth Educational Facilities through Trust-Based Relational Intervention(TBRI) (TBRI를 통한 청소년 교육시설 인테리어 테라피 사례 연구)

  • During adolescence, youths may experience many unexpected changes due to sudden variances. At that time, youths were found to show rebellious or abnormal behaviors due to psychological wounds. These are often caused by psychological wounds oriented at home or at school, which may make some problems in adolescents' self-respect and attachment. In this study, we plan to conduct an analysis of the case of the interior therapy of educational facilities through TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) to discover how psychological therapy for youths is applied to an interior environment. The cases analysis are conducted based on the three principles of TBRI and the twenty seven detailed keywords within each principle. The research method is oriented on the research of literature focusing on TBRI-related external studies and domestic/external studies of interior therapy. The ranges of the case study are studied in six educational facilities retrieved and extracted from the website 'Archdaily' and from the 2019 Journal of the Korean Institute of Educational Facilities. The research article are concluded that TBRI's principles were applied to shape, finish material, color, lighting, furniture layout, plan layout, sculpture, and built-in-furniture by analyzing the interior therapy of educational facilities according to the elements of TBRI.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the characteristics of layout of Jinhae's educational facilities from the perspective of space syntactic changes since the era of Japanese Imperialism. The observations that we made in this research are summarized as the following three points. First, most of the educational facilities are located near the integrated space. Axes of roads near educational facilities display similar spatial patterns as those of entire Jinhae. Second, the level of local integration has been rising near the site of elementary schools for the past decades, and the level of local integration near middle and high schools recently began to rise around the new town. Third, the level of integration is strongly related with the levels of local integration, and the locations of educational facilities are also related with the level of local integration. It implies that the locations of educational facilities are determined not by Jinhae's overall street composition but by nearby road composition.

  • Today, educational facilities are considered to be one of the most important built environment. And the appropriate combinations and applications of technical elements related to green building on the education facilities are emphasized and demanded. These are must be compatible with the occupants' activities and their needs. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze of green building technologies, based on Green Educational Facilities' Case Study in Korea, USA, and Japan. As a result of the comparative analysis of this research, the green technological approaches, problem, and characteristics on educational facilities in different area, climate zone are identified and analyzed by external environment, energy, materials and resources, and indoor environment. It is useful as basic reference for future green educational facilities' planning and design in Korea.
