  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the state-of-the-art solar energy system design cases among LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified school projects and to explore the feasibilities for their applications in domestic school design. Investigating the sold wattages in some kinds of buildings, the wattages per an educational facility is the second-largest after that per an industrial facility. That shows that our attention should be actively directed to the utilization of New and Renewable Energy in school facilities. Therefore photovoltaics systems, lighting systems and solarthermal facilities of solar energy systems were analyzed in the LEED cases. Findings demonstrate that applications of solar energy systems in K-12 educational facilities have been executed more than those in higher educational facilities. However, K-12 educational facilities and higher educational facilities by private funds are not categorized as Green Buildings by Support for Making Green Buildings Act. That fact is needed to be amended. Besides that, design developments are needed for building integrated photovoltaics systems and solarthermal facilities in domestic educational facilities.

In the interview, mothers provided valuable information regarding their personal experiences, thoughts, abilities to carry out the daily singing, and additional support needs in singing. All mothers demonstrated positive experiences and needs for future intervention development. Overall, the results showed that music-involved educational intervention is beneficial for mothers to support their maternal transition. The need emerged for future studies to develop music-involved educational intervention to support maternal transition.

  • The study aims to gain information for developing educational contents to support LPSMB(low-performing students with multicultural backgrounds) through the survey on their personal characteristics, attitudes related to learning, and learning environment. We analyzed a survey of 2,091 students from 200 schools who were low-performing Korean students, LPSMBs, and normally performing students with multicultural backgrounds. Normally performing students with multicultural backgrounds showed statistically significant higher scores on most questionnaires than low-performing Korean students and LPSMBs. However, normally performing students with multicultural backgrounds and LPSMs showed statistically significant lower scores on identity and social relationships. LPSMBs showed lower scores on parents' culture than normally performing students with multicultural backgrounds. We suggested how to support LPSMBs' learning and learning environment based on the survey results.

The other data were collected by the testing method on the memory performance such as the immeadiate word recall task, the delayed word recall task, the word recognition task(Elderly Verbal Learning Test by Kyung Mi Choi, 1998), and the face recognition task(Face Recognition Task tool developed by Hye-Sook Min). The results of this study were as follows; 1. The level of metamemory is 3.4 points in the 5 point scale, the grades of the task and the achievement are relatively high and the grades of the change, the control, and the anxiety are relatively low in the sub-concepts. 2. Metamemory have significant relation with age(r=-.44), educational attainment(r=.46), depression(r=-.58), family support(r=.20), social resources(r=.20). 3. The significant variables to predict older adults' metamemory are educational attainment(22%), sex(11%), age (8.3%), depression(4.7%), and illness state(3%). 4. The strong variables to predict memory performances are metamemory, age, depression, social resources, educational attainment, illness state, and limitation of daily living activity related to illness. In conclusion, the enhancement strategies of metamemory and the social support and the prevention or reduction of depression are necessary to increase older adults' memory performances.
