교육투자의 한계효용에 관한 이론적 고찰 (A Study on the Marginal Efficiency of Educational Investment)

  • Economic development is usually identified with the increased of G.N.P and capital formation connected directly wi:11 the net increase of land, structure, commodity, stocks and foreign claims, etc. The increase of G.N.P. is driving at capital formation. The usual concept of capital formation for economic development misses the important productivity factor of human capital. Because it is now increasingly realized that a massive injection of material into production will 11 not necessarily explain a successful productivity unless that country already possesses 1 suitable human capital. Human capital is built of educational investment which is related to the physical capital. Many statistical investigations identified this reality. Of late years, a great crowd of economists studying an the problem of economic development have turned their attention towards human capital. Thereupon, this paper has dealt with the fact that educational investment affects physical capital and employment. The qualitative increment of human capital will increase the productivity but excessive expenditure on human capital will squander a physical capital. In designing a strategy of human capital for economic development, one needs to consider tile level of educational investment because educational investment of developing countries will be accasionaly made or marred by investment level and direction.

인적자본형성으로서의 교육투자와 경제성장과의 관계 : OECD 비영어권 국가들을 중심으로 (The Relationships between Educational Investment as a Human Capital Formation and the National Economic Growth: Focusing on non-English-Speaking OECD Countries)

  • 최근 지식기반경제로의 진입과 함께 인적자본형성으로서의 교육에 관한 문제는 모든 국가들에 있어서 중요한 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 본 연구는 1970년-2008년 기간 동안 비영어권 OECD 10개 국가들을 대상으로 교육투자와 경제성장과의 관계를 단순회귀분석(OLS) 및 표면상무관회귀분석(Seemingly Unrelated Regression Estimation: SURE) 기법을 사용하여 추정하여 상호 비교분석 하였다. 분석 결과 인적자본의 형성과 관련된 변수들의 추정에서는 교육투자를 비롯하여 R&D투자 및 출산율 모두 통계적 유의성이 높게 나왔으며 또한 경제성장에 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이들 중 경제성장에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요소로는 출산율이었으며 다음으로 R&D 투자, 교육투자 순으로 나타났다. 특히 출산율계수의 크기는 R&D 투자의 1.8배, 교육투자의 약 3.5배의 크기로 나타나고 있어 각 국가들의 지속적인 경제성장을 위해서는 R&D투자 및 교육투자뿐만 아니라 출산율 촉진정책도 동시에 고려되어져야 할 것으로 보인다.

대학입학전형별 교육투자 비교 분석 (An Analysis between College Entrance Exam Types and Educational Investment)

  • 본 연구는 한국교육고용패널 자료를 이용하여 대학입학전형별로 서로 다른 교육투자행태를 보이는지 확인해보았다. 분석 결과, 수시전형으로 대학에 입학한 학생들의 연평균 사교육비와 일주일 평균 혼자서 공부한 시간이 정시전형으로 대학에 입학한 학생들보다 낮았고, TV 시청, 컴퓨터 이용 등과 같은 여가시간과 수면시간이 더 긴 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학입학 제도가 교육투자의 양태를 바꿀 가능성을 보여주며, 나아가 필요한 인적자본투자를 효율적으로 이루어지도록 유도할 가능성도 있음을 보여준다.

가계의 인적자본 투자에 관한 연구 - 사교육을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Investment in Human Capital of Korean Households)

  • This study examined the investment in human capital of Korean urban households. Data for this study were from the 2001 Household Income and Expenditure Survey and consisted of a sample of 2,681 households. The results of Gini's concentration coefficient showed high inequality of investment in human capital. To investigate which factors influence investments in human capital, various socio-demographic variables were analysed. High investment in human capital is shown in high society indicating that they transmit the advantage of education to their descendants. The results of this study is useful for welfare professionals who work in family well-being.

독일의 학교수용계획 사례연구 - 포츠담시의 학교개발계획에 나타난 학생수용계획, 교육환경계획, 시설투자계획을 중심으로 - (A case study on the School Accommodation plan in Germany - Student accommodation, Educational environment and its Facility Investment shown in Potsdam -)

  • Analysis of the case of the German school acceptance plan was to help complement the limitations of the nation's student accommodation plan will be judged. Therefore, the present study in order to determine what the content covered in the plan of the German student acceptance of Potsdam, Germany, which contains information from the Potsdam school development plan (Schulentwicklungsplan) were analyzed. A scheme suggested in this study was based on the analysis of survey to elementary school in Potsdam and actually surveyed data on educational environment, the result can be summed up as follows; Korea's plan to accommodate students and school development plan (Schulentwicklungsplan) is called, as shown in the case of this study in Potsdam(Germany) student acceptance of the educational environment plans, as well as accommodate students like us, school facility planning and school facilities dealing with the financial investment plan. In addition, the plan as a long-term plan that will ensure the predictability of long-term school facilities to finance investment plans. This study, there are limits to Potsdam, Germany, to analyze the characteristics of Germany's student accommodation plan to represent the characteristics of the students of other cities in Germany and an acceptance plan.

우수한 공대생의 교육 활동 참여 분석: 개인투자이론을 기초로 (An Analysis on Educational Experience of Competent Engineering Students based on Personal Investment Theory)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the educational experiences of competent engineering students and finding the reason why they invest their time and efforts engaging in school activities. Five students with high GPA, high K-CESA scores and successful employment or entrance test scores, participated in the survey and the interview. In checking their responses, their activities' records were gathered from school DB. According to the modified framework based on the personal investment theory, the interviews, survey and DB records were analyzed on the sense of self, the social cultural environment, and pattern of behaviors in schools. The competent engineering students are able to manage themselves, in maintaining a good relationship with the collegiate, and in having high self-efficiency. They also tend to put effort into their studies and participate in inbound and outbound school activities. At the last part, freshmen foundation, relationship within college, students' activity related future career, economic stability during studies are suggested for supporting students in universities.

자녀보충교육투자의 유형과 결정요인 (Patterns and Determinats of Supplementary Educational Investment on Childern)

  • This study examined patterns and determinants of families’supplementary educational investment on children. By supplementary educational investment, it meant the amounts of money spent on children’s education other than regular formal schooling expenses. The data used were from the 「1996 Household Expenditure Survey」conducted by the National Statistical Office. The statistical methods employed were descriptive statistics, cluster analysis and logistic multiple regression analysis. Results of cluster analysis revealed five different patterns of family supplementary education expense with relatively even proportion of families allocated to each pattern. The five education expenditure patterns were arts education dominant; other education dominant; gymnastics·clerical·computer education dominant; college entrance exam preparation dominant; and private tutoring dominant. Results of logistic regression analysis showed that the possibility of being in a pattern affected by various family socioeconomic variables. Important factors affecting there patterns were children’s schooling stage, residence, and mother’s education.

학교시설의 민자공급에 따른 학교시설관련 기술관료조직 제도개선에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Development of the Technocrat Organization Structures under the PFI Implementation of the Public Educational Facilities)

  • Korean government implemented the Build-Transfer-Lease (BTL) mechanism since 2005 as one of the privatization methods to procure the social infrastructure with private investment. The mechanism was originally prepared 10 provide such public properties as education facilities, child-care facilities, old generation recuperation facilities, medical welfare facilities, military personnel's apartments, environment facilities, and lease apartments. Since 2005, a total of 13.5 trillion won-valued private fund has been directed to the public educational facilities, which occupies 58% of the total private investment in the facilities of the seven categories. However, many officials in the local public entities have anticipated that the local entities need to be restructured or downsized because of the privatization in stead of providing the educational facilities by governmental finance. The main objective of this study is to identify the appropriate technocrat organization structures to manage the privatization procedures.

우리나라의 교육투자 수익률 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Rates of Return to Education)

  • The purpose of the study was to estimate and analyze the rates of return to educational investment. The study was designed to estimate the social and private rates of return to educational investment by school level and sex in order to measure education's economic value with a viewpoint of human capital theory. The produced result of this study are as follows. The social rates of return to education turned out to be male high school 7.94%, male junior college 3.74%, male university 8.50% female high school 4.30%, female junior college 10.11%, female university 6.92%. The private rates of return to education turned out to be male high school 8.41%, male junior college 3.39%, male university 8.38%, female high school 7.90%, female junior college 10.34%, female university 7.33%, In order to measure economic value of educational investment, rates of return to education were compared with those to physical capital investment. Social rates of return to education turned out to be profitable for female junior college, while for private rates of return to education turned out to be profitable in all school levels except for male junior college.

  • 이 글은 최근에 들어 새롭게 연구ㆍ발전하고 있는 교육경제학에서 교육투자의 경제적 효과분석에 대하여 약술한다. 교육활동의 경제적 효율화 방안 모색과 교육재화의 투입ㆍ산출 분석을 주요 연구대상으로 하고 있는 교육경제학은 우리나라에서는 1980년대부터 교육학자 및 경제학자들에 의하여 심도 있게 연구되기 시작하였다. 교육투자의 경제적 효과는일반적으로 교육비용분석을 통한 학교의 적정규모산출과 같은 교육의 내적 효율성 분석과 경제성장에의 기여도 측정과 같은 교육의 외적효율성으로 대별되며, 그 측정방법으로는 교육수익률접근법과 단순상관관계접근법 및 잉여액접근법 등이 주로 사용된다. 본 논문에서 교육투자의 경제적 효과분석은 자료수집의 미비로 실증분석에는 이르지 못하고, 다만 교육투자의 성격규명과 분석방법의 소개로 마름하며, 다음 논문에서 실증 분석한 결과를 소개하려고 한다.
