This study presents an improved inspection system for slopes adjacent to educational facilities. For this, field investigations for 5 schools and 3 universities were performed to analyze the engineering stability of infrastructures, which ensure the safety of students and educational officers. Educational laws and the relevant enforcement are reviewed to understand the problems of current laws and enforcement. The results reveal that the engineering measures and reinforcement are required for the slopes of 36%. Also, the improvement of social awareness and regular inspection is needed to maintain the educational infrastructures. The suggested inspection system includes the fundamental and detailed checklists and guidance for non-engineering specialists.

It is important to estimate the capability for the facilities and the condition of schools continually and correctly because the structure's life is remained more longer through the effective building control and preservation. In accordance with above of that, it is required to understand the knowledge about all matters at the stage of management for educational facilities and establish the procedure of the facility management consistently. This research suggests the method, which remains consistent and objective and deals with the total functional degree by following ㄴthe way to systemize the management plan of the facility estimation. The functional estimation of the existing facilities will be useful to make an plan for repair, maintain and checking of them as well as be the standard for remodeling and the educational facility duration, including long period project for building mending.

현재 교육시설은 학교시설관리기준에 의거한 엄격한 적용과 예방교육을 함에도 불구하고 학교 안전사고는 책임의식이 매우 낮은 미성년학생들에 의한 우발적 사고와 화재 및 시설물에 관한 안전 불감증으로 인해 인적 물적 피해가 발생하고 있다. 교육시설 안전을 위해서는 신속한 업무 처리와 현장에서 손쉽게 교육시설물에 관한 전자도면 및 관련문서들을 스마트 디바이스를 통하여 다양한 방법으로 확인 할 수 있도록 하는 기술이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 안전사고 발생시 전자도면, 문서관리, 다양한 교육시설물 문서 등을 다양한 스마트 디바이를 통한 교육시설물 자원관리 시스템(EFRMS)으로 교육시설의 점검과 통제를 할 수 있도록 문서변환 기능과 해상도 고효율화, 사물인터넷(IoT) 기술를 활용하여 교육업무시스템(NEIS)과 연계한 시스템 설계를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the 'Sant'Elia Nursery School' constructed in 1937 at Como, Italy. Giuseppe Terragni(1904-1943) is, as it well known, one of the representative architects in the period of Italian rationalism architecture. In particular, his 'Casa del Fascio(1928~1936)' is evaluated as a representative work of this period. The research is based on the original drawings and letters, mostly produced by G. Terragni himself. Through the analyze on the design process, the research tries to reveal Terragni's design method and strategy, especially in the educational facility project. There are at least four deferent phases in the Terragni's design process; in each phase, there are fundamental changes such as a structural grid system, relationships between skin and columns or spatial sequences. Establishment of a new guideline on the educational facility in 1925 is also an another important issue. There was a political need, during the period of Mussolini's regime, to find a model of educational facilities. So, this project reflects not only the Terragni's design process but also the good example of educational facility in the early Twenty Century in Europe.

This study aims to figure out the use of the school facilities as a community center. The twenty-five elementary schools in Korea and nine schools in Japan are analyzed on the frame of the facility types(the athletic facility, the cultural facility, the convenience facility, the educational facility, the welfare facility, and the open-space), the building units(single, multiple), and the user's movement(separate, cross). The results are as follows: (1) The frequently served complexes of the school facilities are the athletic facility, the convenience facility, and the cultural facility in Korea and the convenience facility, the educational facility, the athletic facility, and the cultural facility in Japan. The schools in Japan seem to be more concerned to the life-long studies. (2) Gyms and swimming pools are most popular as the athletic facility both countries. The schools in Japan supply the community members with more various contents encouraging participation and relationship-making as the convenience, educational and the cultura facilities. (3) The use of building units and the user's movement are not distinguishable in both countries.

It is important to manage an educational facility used by many students. The office of education has responsibility to manage public school facilities instead of most elementary, middle, and high schools. Some school or university outsources facility management and maintenance. An international school in Jeju is established by BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease) that includes construction and maintenance. This research objective is to analyze the case of facility management in the international school, and to provide improved method for school maintenance.

Although the educational facility are an important considerations on a social equity standpoint, educational environment in rural areas has been continuously deteriorated by numerous social problems such as decreasing birth rate and increasing of local school closing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accessibility of educational environment in rural areas on village level. First, we evaluate physical accessibility based on legally defined commuting distance. Second, the implication of village population of potential accessibility is analyzed. Lastly, the facility centrality index of each village is estimated for assessing the relations of educational accessibility. The main results of this study are as follows; (1) The accessibility of most villages in Pyeongchang-gun is vulnerable that 81.10% for elementary school, 73.17% for middle school, and 82.32% for high school, respectively; (2) The average commuting distance per student considering estimated number of students for each educational facilities indicated 2.75km for elementary school, 4.37km for middle school, and 5.79km for high school; (3) the facility centrality index is highly correlated to educational facilities but not to village population.

The Educational Cultural Center for Students is a new mixed-cultural space which made around 1997 for students' education of humanism and talent with the 7th revision of educational course. This Educational Cultural Center for Students is different to the existing one because the subject of the culture is students who make creation and performance by themselves while the former ones were for seeing, hearing and feeling things. There are seven Educational Cultural Center for Students all over the country and will be built more in the future. Comparing to the former Educational Cultural Centers for Students, functional rooms in the Educational Cultural Centers for Students are an outdoor performance room, a large performance room, a small performance room of performance facility, a gallery of display facility, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a fitness room, a table-tennis room of physical facility, a library and a reading room of a book facility, and a group room, a computer room, a singing room, a billiard room, an art room, a musical room, a dancing room, a manner room, a playing room, a cultural lecture room and a seminar room of a interest-activity facility. The result of analyzing the usage frequency is that a performance room has the highest frequency and a display room, a musical room, a music appreciation room and a physical room follow the frequency order. But this frequency does not fit for all area. By place and social situations, the frequency and space organization may be changed.

The main objective of this research is to develop an experimental educational facility management information system that will be used for maintaining existing educational facilities in the elementary, junior high, and high schools. The development is based on the nationwide development plan of the education administration information system. The system developed is accomplished by use of Map-application Information System(MAPIS), an applied commercial software that combines Geographic Information System(GIS) with existing Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) such as Database system, Multimedia methodology, and Internet system. In order to figure out the features to be improved in the system developed, the research interviewed the educational facilities management in the Ministry of Education and P Local Education Authority. The authors suggest the functional improvement of the system based on the interview results.

Educational facilities are more uncertain about maintenance costs due to their comprehensive and long life-cycle compared to commercial buildings. In addition, maintenance of the existing post management system can not maintain the original function of education facilities continuously and economically. In order to overcome this problem, it is necessary to analyze the repair and replacement cost for the uncertainty factor in maintenance. This study propose a model to determine repair and maintenance cost and cycle of educational facility based on probabilistic estimation concept. For the analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, a probabilistic analysis method, was applied based on the repair and maintenance history data of the educational facilities in Florida. The results of this study can be used as a guideline for quantitative facility management and facility management research.
