  • In the field of animation, as technology advances, production technology, production methods, and production culture are also steadily developing. The demand for content is increasing rapidly around the OTT platform, and the demand for animation content and diversity is increasing. With these market changes, animation creation ability is becoming a more important animation education goal. There is also a need to innovate educational methods to provide students with the skills and knowledge required in the modern animation business. This paper investigated the composition of the educational curriculum of domestic and foreign animation universities education. It examines artificial intelligence (AI) technology that can be used in animation creation and explores the design and direction of the university animation curriculum using it. AI technology has already proven its potential in various areas, and it is integrated into the animation curriculum to present various development potentials. Using AI technology, students can focus on practical and essential animation education by preventing technical difficulties in animation creation, increase their experience in animation production, and experiment with planning and producing various contents. It is proposed to design an educational curriculum that further strengthens animation creation and production capabilities by forming smart animation classes to foster talents who can lead the future animation industry in a new direction.

  • The development in information technology resulted in an interest for lifelong education, which caused a rapid growth in the educational web based e-Iearning industry. The spread of e-Iearning industries and educational facilities emphasized the need for educational contents with the purpose of online lecturing along with the rapid development of contents production technology. Flash contents provide multimedia, animation, and etc. with diverse and visual expressions, so the complicated interactions with the learner can be easily materialized. The advantage of having a high quality, user-centered interface is that it provides a trigger of interest and arousal of concentration for the user, but it is difficult for teachers to directly create or manipulate educational flash animation contents. This paper is written to technologically methodize the automation of educational programs that the teachers wish to make by reusing the educational flash animation contents.

  • This study is a process of studying an alternative educational model and a preceding analysis process of the study where a teaching method considering the expertise of animation is applied with a perspective of effectively increasing the animation drawing ability. The animation field which is the image contents is a visual art that delivers the story through the movement of the subject, and when looking only at the education related to the drawing, the items required for expertise should be clarified and the development of a systematic curriculum and teaching method is required. Therefore in this study, it aims to review the necessity of education model development by analyzing the educational contents and domestic and foreign curriculums that corresponds to the categorization of motion drawing considered with expertise of animation. As a result, it will be used as a basis for planning the educational model of a subject in the category of motion drawing. This process corresponds to the analysis phase of ADDIE educational model development and in the future, as an attempt for integrated studies, will lead to a study of developing and applying the educational model based on the functions of brain and creative mechanism.

  • In the contemporary modern society, information and knowledge generate a set of new social values. These changes demand a transformation not only in socio-cultural and educational spheres, but also, specifically, in the field of culture and art education. Culture and Art education emphasizes the integration and cross-discipline of other related fields which have great impact on culture and arts. This study applies theoretical analysis of Animation education in the context of culture and art education. Animation education takes an interdisciplinary approach to integrate various subjects in the field of culture and art education. Animation, as a form of culture and art education, plays an educational role in the social classroom. Animation education should be developed and expanded to become a regular classroom course. The goal of Animation education is to pursue and develop a connection with other educational courses of study. In order to strengthen the role of Animation education, we should first re-structure the pedagogical role of Animation education. Secondly, Animation education needs to become a diversified and popularized education. Third, the cultivation of creative human resources is considered of vital importance to Animation education. Finally, the expansion of infrastructure and the establishment of a comprehensive support system for Animation education has to be established.

  • This study is a process of studying an alternative educational model and a preceding analysis process of the study where a teaching method considering the brain function, learning and creative mechanism is applied with a perspective of effectively increasing the animation drawing ability. Recently, studies in each field of study is not simply limited to one major but are attempting to produce subdivided integrated educational contents through integrated study activities with other fields. It is because for any field, it has a complex structure of humanistic experience and this is the same for artistic fields. Especially, in the field of animation, a specialized area is subdivided so when looking only at the education related to the drawing, the items required for expertise should be clarified and the development of a systematic educational method is required. Therefore in this study, a literature study result to design the educational model suitable for professional characteristics of animation education method is proposed. The study aims to conceptualize and categorize the meaning of drawing that can refine the basic ability for education of animation field to suit the characteristics of majoring field. Afterwards, the components are derived through re-established concept of drawing and categories, and this becomes the basis for the process of materializing the study goal which is the follow-up work. As a result, the components are examined by defining the meaning of drawing as the motion drawing due to the characteristics of the picture contents field, and used as a basis for planning the educational model applied with brain scientific creative-learning principles.

  • The purpose of this research was to develop the method of media literacy education program based on animation production for the 21 century student. A total of four stages of educational programs were constructed by linking the media literacy education goals and the animation production process through the previous research. First, Acquisition of animation production tools for enhancing media access capability. Second, Animation production practice stage for strengthening creative production capacity. Third, the development of critical understanding stage for presentation and discussion the results. Forth, social sharing stage to strengthen social communication capacity. For the practical application of the education program, it was produced as an educational model for Hanseo University animation summer camp, and was educated by 79 middle school students in Chungcheong province. Based on this research, students improve an analytical ability and help them become active participants by creating their own animations. In future, it will be needed a continuous research on the development of educational programs using various media.

  • The practical learning requires the new paradigm in its content of education and environment along with the rapid development of information communication technology and the expansion of digital content industry. Especially, the animation education, core area of digital content industry, has attempted to improve the content and method of education by focusing on creativity, convergence and practical education. However, education environment in the previous form of computer laboratory has not been reflected the characteristics of animation education. In the light of this, this research would suggests the effective education environment implemented animation job competency and the characteristics of animation production. Firstly, the problem of previous educational environment will be explored through looking at computer rooms of domestic Universities. The characteristics of animation production consisted of Pre-production, Main-production, Post-production and elements of animation job competency will be reviewed by focusing on three phases of production, Pre-production, Main-production and Post-production, and six particular jobs, concept art, modeling & texturing, animating, lighting, VFX and compositing. Secondly, 6 types of space adapted from space syntax, possibly explored the embedded meaning of the structure of space and environment, will be reviewed by focusing on integration, separation and interaction. Thirdly, based on the characteristics of animation production, the element of animation job competency, 6 types of space, analytical tools about animation project education will be deducted, and the case study regarding animation studio, Walt Disney studio, will be processed by focusing on its production environment and spatial composition by focusing on Pre-production, Main-production, Post-production. Fifthly, the effective spatial composition for animation project education will be explored based on the interpretation of literature reviews and case study. In regard to this, the research addresses the spatial composition reflected the characteristics of practical learning and job competency in animation education, which differs from the previous form of standardized education spaces.
