  • Objectives: This study aimed to combine the satisfaction survey results and suggestion for continuing education of the emergency medical technicians through a systematic review of continuing education of the emergency medical technicians. Methods: This review focused on previous studies published until 2020 that were associated with the continuing education of emergency medical technicians. We followed the guidelines set for each phase of the study and selected the 26 studies that met the selection criteria for the analysis. Results: The level of satisfaction with continuing education for emergency medical technicians was low. The most frequently suggested method for continuing education was patient case presentation. The answers to the desired training subjects of the continuing education program varied. Finally, studies on continuing education have not been published continuously. Conclusion: To enhance the satisfaction and competence of continuing education, we need to provide various programs that reflect the needs of emergency medical technicians attending maintenance training. In addition, various methods should be considered to improve the attendance rate for continuing education, and further investigations and research should be actively conducted on continuing education in the future.

  • 'Fun' may be a basic desire of all human beings, but studies that combine both education and enjoyment were very limited, with the exception of the sports and games subjects. As a result, this study focused on the fun induced from the actual site of education, beginning under the premise that this can increase the effectiveness of education. In particular, it has been concluded that more fun is especially required in compulsory education that disregards one's opinion, with the Social Service Personnel that are required to undergo two weeks of compulsory job training selected as the test subjects. In order to comprehend how the 'fun factor' from the Social Service Personnel' job training influences the educational effectiveness, the causal relationship between learning flow, group flow and learning satisfaction has been proven using the structural equation model. Through this, the median between fun and education was found, as well as whether fun education has an actual effect on educational effectiveness. In addition, it is an opportuniy to emphasise the need for enjoyable education for not just Social Service Personnel, but for all involuntary learners.

  • Although women's economic participation has been increasing in Korea, the utilization of educated women's labor is still low. Therefore, vocational training programs for women are both important and necessary. This study examines the vocational training programs for women offered by the three largest vocational training centers in Jeju: the Woman Resources Development Center, the Jeju Women's Development Center, and the Seogwipo City Women's Cultural Center. This study also analyzes the students' satisfaction with these vocational training programs and identifies the related variables that cause differences in their levels of satisfaction. The sample includes 397 respondents who were surveyed from June 23 to September 12, 2008. Moreover, the data are analyzed by conducting a one-way ANOVA, t-test, and Duncan's Multiple Range(DMR)test. The major results of the study are as follows. First, the vocational training programs in Jeju consist of lectures that cover various subjects. The programs mainly focus on work that offers relatively low wages and requires few skills, and the duration of the programs is short. Second, the original goal of the programs does not meet the needs of women who are seeking employment. The participants respond that they want more appropriate programs that are designed by considering their need for employment, support them in finding a job, and re-educate them. Third, most of the participants are satisfied with their vocational training experiences, and their satisfaction with the instructors is especially high. The differences in their levels of satisfaction are caused by economic characteristics such as the location of the student's residence, home ownership, and the level of life. The results of this study suggest that there is a need to separate vocational/employment training from general education for women. Moreover, the vocational training programs for women should be more specialized according to the different needs of each group.

To achieve these purposes, the study developed a questionnaire by deriving the areas and items for the operation of apprenticeship schools, and analyzed 121 completed questionnaires of head and senior teachers who manage the apprenticeship programs across the nation after conducting a survey. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the teachers of apprenticeship schools found all the operation areas of the schools are important but difficult. Out of the operation areas, teachers had relatively high needs for 'promotion, selection and management of enterprises', 'student management', 'development of apprenticeship programs, formation of the curriculum, and establishment of operation plans of the curriculum'. Second, the teachers found all the detailed items of the operation areas of apprenticeship schools are important but difficult generally. According to the results, it is required to relax the criteria for forming apprenticeship organizations; operate the local government-oriented apprenticeship system; establish information systems between schools and enterprises; improve the support methods of relevant agencies; and increase incentives of teachers who are in charge of apprenticeship programs. It is also necessary to operate exclusive agencies supporting for OJT; operate apprenticeship education centers of local small and medium-sized business associations; provide exclusive supervision of students; cultivate teachers who support industry-academia cooperation; and legislate on the NCS-based qualifications.

Results: The mean score of satisfaction of the clinical training program was $3.88{\pm}0.56$, and $4.24{\pm}0.49$ for teaching efficacy. Teaching efficacy showed associations with Major area (F=2.78, p=.014) and Goal of participation (F=3.39, p=.039). The results presented that satisfaction of the clinical training program positively correlated with teaching efficacy (r=.56, p<.001). Conclusion: This study reports high satisfaction of a clinical training program and teaching efficacy for nursing faculty. In order to increase the satisfaction of the program, there is a need to develop a client-focused program that meets the goals of participation and major areas for nursing faculty.

  • The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has profoundly impacted all aspects of undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education. Only the focus of medical education-care for patients and communities-has remained an integral part of all of the above sectors. Several challenges have been experienced by learners and educators as the education and training of future doctors has continued in the midst of this crisis, including the cancellation of face-to-face classes and training, reduced patient encounter opportunities, fairness issues in online assessments, disruption of patient interview-based exams, reflections on the role of doctors in society, and mental health-related problems linked to isolation and concerns about infection. In response to these disruptions, educators and institutions have rapidly deployed educational innovations. Schools have adopted educational strategies to overcome these challenges by implementing novel education delivery methods in an online format, providing clinical experiences through simulation or telehealth methods, introducing online assessment tools with formative purposes, encouraging learners' involvement in nonclinical activities such as community service, and making available resources and programs to sustain learners' mental health and wellness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, educators and institutions have faced drastic changes in medical education worldwide. At the same time, the quantitative expansion of online education has caused other problems, such as the lack of human collaboration. The long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical education need to be studied further.

The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The subjects showed the high necessity of "emergency nursing", "cardiopulmunary resuscitation", "disinfection and infection" and "interpersonal relationship" in order, but relatively low necessity of "doctor supports" and "medical insurance affair" for the practical orientation. Therefore, the orientation should provide prepondently an education Which they really need, on the basis of their education experiences and/or requirements. 2. Practical training, individual teaching and performance will be an effective orientation more than theorical education. The educator should be selected from unit based persons being capable of providing technical education to trainee. Also, in order to develop the teaching method and to improve the corresponding ability, a special program is required for educators. 3. It will be desirable that task training is given at least one month before working at their unit. In addition, orientation schedule should be made to concentrate trainee on their task training fully. 4. The subjects showed that half of them had spent four to six months for work adaptation. A meeting of new nurses may be helpful not only to acclimate themselves to new circumstances. but also to provide an exchange of views and an emotional relationship. Furthermore, unit based staffs should exerts efforts to maintain the educational circumstances and warm concern for new nurse's adaptation.
