Recognition, attitudes, knowledge, education experience, and education demand regarding physical restraint among laypersons (신체억제대에 대한 일반인의 인식, 태도, 지식 및 교육경험과 교육요구도 조사)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate recognition, attitudes, knowledge, education experience, and education demand regarding physical restraint among laypersons. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 105 randomly recruited laypersons in D city. Excluding 2 incomplete answers, 103 data were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and chi-square test using SPSS 23.0. Results: Laypersons' recognition of physical restraints was rated at 3.37 out of 5 points, and showed a positive perspective. Knowledge on physical restraints was rated at 13.68 out of 18 points and was affected by age and education level (F = 2.845, p = .028)(F = 3.126, p = .029) A majority of the participants had no education on physical restraints. Nevertheless, participants showed intention to receive education in physical restraint to reach further understanding. Conclusion: Education on physical restraints is necessary for lay persons. However, there were education limits for people living in modern times. As an intervention addressing this problem, observing videos on the internet is recommended. Moreover, for advertising/educational purposes, accessing the internet and using smart-phone applications are suggested.

Recognition and awareness of the need for education among dental laboratory technology students during the 4th industrial revolution of the healthcare field (치기공(학)과 대학생들의 4차 산업혁명에 대한 인식과 교육필요성 인지도 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aims to identify the recognition, readiness, and awareness of the need for education in the era of the 4th industrial revolution among dental technology students in the healthcare field, and to provide essential data for the development of a future-oriented curriculum. Methods: A survey of 260 students, who were briefed about the purpose of this study, was conducted at D University and G University, located in Daejeon and Gangwon-do, South Korea, respectively. A total of 229 questionnaires, excluding 31 with insufficient responses, were analyzed. Results: 1. Recognition of the 4th industrial revolution was 3.43±0.77, preparedness was 2.91±0.84, and awareness of the need for education was 3.86±0.80. 2. Major satisfaction was found to have a significant effect on concept recognition and impact recognition of the 4th industrial revolution, readiness level, and the need for education (p<0.001). Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an education program on specialized skills (professional knowledge) related to the 4th industrial revolution, and to implement such a program that serves the educational needs of individual groups.

Status of Sanitary Education and Recognition and Perceived Performance of Cooking Operations Related to Sanitation for Cooks in a Super Deluxe Hotel (특1급 호텔 조리사의 위생교육 현황과 위생관련 조리업무 인지 및 직무수행도)

  • A survey on the status of sanitary education and recognition and perceived performance of cooking operations related to sanitation for cooks at nine deluxe hotels in the Seoul area was conducted. The frequency of a food sanitary training program inside the hotel was 94.0%, and the frequency of training was 'once a month' at 68.5%. The program was taught by a hygienist in the hotel (62.7%), and 64.2% of cooks always attended. Cooks' recognition of HACCP was 3.52, and the importance of education on HACCP was higher at 3.77. Cook's' level of sanitary management was satisfactory with an average of 3.83 out of 5 in a Likert scale. The results showed a high average (4.08) for importance of personal hygiene during cooking, but satisfaction of personal hygiene was rather low at 3.92. Cooks' recognition of food sanitation in work field was very high at 4.15. The average scale of recognition on personal hygiene was 4.36, and out of 10 items related to personal hygiene, 'maintaining hand hygiene' showed the highest recognition (4.43). In a performance scale, the average was 4.24, and 'performing annual health examination' was the highest at 4.38. Perceived recognition of 18 items related to food sanitation had an average of 4.41, whereas the average for performance was lower at 4.31. Perceived recognition of 12 items related to cooking equipments had an average of 4.39, and average scale of performance was 4.28. Therefore, cooks' high recognition of food sanitation but rather low recognition of satisfaction of personal hygiene and perceived performance indicated that systematic sanitation management monitoring tools are necessary for higher performance.

The Influence of Wife's Home Management Behavior Pattern and Husband's Perception about It on Family Life Satisfaction (주부의 가정관리 행동유형과 남편의 인지가 가정생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to find the influence of wife's home management behavior pattern and husband's perception about it on family life satisfaction, and to find out variables which influence them. For theses reviewing literature and empirical research were conducted. The major results were as follows; 1) The couple's psychological variables (ie, degree of life level recognition, of resourcefulness recognition and of communication) were relatively high. The wife's home management behavior pattern was relatively morphogenesis and the husband's perception about wive's it was relatively morphogenesis. And the couple's degree of family life satisfaction were relatively high. 2) Influential variables on wife's home management behavior pattern were level of education, degree of resourcefulness recognition and of communication. And influential variables on husband's perception about vive's it was degree of communication. 3) Influential variables on wive's the degree of family life satisfaction were degree of life level recognition, of resourcefulness recognition and of communication. And influential variables on husband's it were level of education, job, degree of life level recognition, of resourcefulness recognition and of communication. 4) The wife's home management behavior pattern and husband's perception about wive's it were to predict the couple's degree of family life satisfaction. 5) In cause-effect pathway mode. level of education·job·degree of life level recognition·of resourcefulness recognition and of communication showed direct and indirect effect on family life satisfaction through wife's home management behavior pattern or husband's perception about wive's it.

A Study on the Influencing Factors of Recognition and Attitude of Early Childhood Teachers for Integrated Education (통합교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 태도에 미치는 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the effect of the teachers' personal variables to the teachers' recognition and attitude about the integrated education. The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic data of the strategic plan for the integrated education of the exceptional children. After survey of the daycare centers' teachers, I analyzed the impact of the individual variables experience, level, education level, experience of integrated education, disabled study - to the teachers' recognitions and behaviors of the integrated education. The results of this study are that personal variables showed different impacts according to the recognition and behaviors. However, integrated education experiences and disabled study experiences showed the important roles. Consequently, I suggest the disabled study and integrated education for the teachers.

The Study of the Recognition of Sexual Roles and the Demand of Sexual Education by the Korean Junior Students and their Parents (한국 청소년과 학부모의 성역할인지와 성교육요구에 관한 조사연구)

  • The study was attempted to survey the recognition of sexual roles and the demand of sexual education. The period was May 1st through June 15th, 1998 and the subjects were 377 junior students and 251 parents in Pusan. This study was based on questionnaire which focused on the Han and Lee's inquiry. The analysis of collected data was executed by using SPSS/PC+. The results were as follows : (1) The average point as to the 12 items of recognition of sexual roles regarding the occupational functions by the boys was 2.92 which was higher than that of the girls(1.85). The average point as to the 14 items of recognition of sexual roles regarding the attitudes by the boys was 2.91 which was higher than that of the girls(2.13). The average point as to the 14 items of recognition of sexual roles regarding the abilities by the boys was 2.93 which was higher than that of the girls(1.96). The point as to the item of androgyny among the demand of sexual education by the girls was 3.17 which is higher than that of the boys(2.93). (2) The parents showed the higher recognition toward androcentrism than the students and the parents showed the higher demand of the overall sexual education than the students. (3) 15.7% of the students was engaged in the masturbation. The students who answered that their parents had known the masturbation by their children were 16.9%. The 59 masturbaters consisted of the boys(91.5%) and the girls(8.5%), and that showed significant difference. (4) The opinions about the well-qualified teacher of sexual education by the subjects were studied as under: 16.7% of the parents supported the nurse-teacher, meanwhile 24.7% of the students supported the nurse-teacher.

The effect of recognition of need and participation intent of motivational interviewing education in dental hygiene students experiencing clinical practice (일부 임상실습을 경험한 치위생(학)과 학생들의 동기면담 교육 필요성 인식도와 동기면담교육 참여의사에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of recognition of need and participation intent of motivational interviewing education in dental hygiene students experiencing clinical practice. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 261 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam from June 6 to August 8, 2016. The questionnaire comprised general charactieristics of the subjects and Motivational interviewing (MI) in health care including philosophy, principle, and method. Data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney U test, Spearman's correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Recognition on need for MI education was positively correlated with participation intent for the education. MI method showed the highest correlation among MI educations(r=0.329, p<0.001). Participation intent for motivation interviewing(MI) education was higher in those having stronger recognition on need for MI method education and satisfaction with clinical practice. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop motivational interviewing education curriculum that will promote participation intent for motivational interviewing in clinical field.

Middle School Environmental Education of the 7th National Curriculum and Application to Teen-agers Practice of Environmental Education (제7차 중학교 ‘환경’ 교육과정과 청소년 환경교육)

  • The Quality of human living depends on the environmental quality of the region sustaining the life. The environmental deterioration of the modern society is due to mechanical environmentalism. For the better quality of the life, The changes of recognition and attitude on the environments are required. These changes of mind are also important in environmental education for teenagers. The 7th national curriculum, officially anounced December 1998, focuses on the change of attitude to environments and practical behavior in real life for “Environments”, the environmental education curriculum in middle school. Basic elements of the curriculum are cultivation of the pro-environmental thinking, multi-levelling of teaching materials and methods, and encouraging of student participating activity. Actually, the curriculum construction is composed of stepped-levelling of teaching and learning, reasonable contents volume, encouraging of student practice, and suggesting of evaluation standards of textbook writing. Three main subjects of environmental education for middle school consist of (1) man and environment, (2) recognition of environmental problem, and (3) protection activity for environment. Methodology of environmental education can include multi-disciplinary approaches, variable teaching methods, and continuing evaluation of student practice and participation attitude. Environmental education for teenagers relating to the 7th national curriculum focuses on recognition of the environmental problems and practice activity in daily life. The recognition includes considering relationship of human life to environment, solving environmental problems in regional context, and development of comprehensive understanding concept of the environments. For the practice education, variable teaching methods, such as field survey and application of multi-media, are needed.

Recognition Level of the Culinary Practice of Culinary Teachers in Vocational High Schools

  • This study finds methods to activate culinary education by surveying the level of recognition for culinary practice from the culinary teachers of vocational high schools. The number of individuals surveyed is 103. Data is verified by using SPSS 14.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). The results of the survey on recognition for culinary education showed that learning requirements are very high as well as that theoretical education and trial demonstrations are necessary to enhance the effects of culinary practice education. Desired teaching learning materials were cooking materials by a certified technician. Their desired supplementary data for enhancing practical techniques were practical demonstrations, various materials and language instruction to learn other culinary practices. It is reported that there was increasing work other than learning time and complication for preparing practice. In addition, they desire more websites for cooking need to be built. Plans for activating culinary education are as follow: First, how to enhance the professional abilities of culinary teachers. Second, to show the necessity of theoretical education, video-based education, and culinary practice demonstrations. Third, to show the necessity to increase the ratio for culinary practice classes. Fourth, to display various teaching and learning materials. Fifth, to enhance websites for culinary data. Sixth, to provide opportunities to augment a sense of achievement.

Analysis of Multicultural Elements in the 2015 Revised Elementary Curriculum (2015개정 초등교육과정에 나타난 다문화요소분석)

  • The purpose of this paper was to analyze multicultural elements and propose measures to strengthen them in the 2009and the 2015 school curriculum. Based on Kim Cheong-ha (2015), the multi-cultural guidance elements and Bennett (2003:32-35) the target system and Choi Moo-sung and Kim Soon-ja (2009) were reconstructed and analyzed. Multicultural elements shown in the 2015 revised curriculum were analyzed for cultural diversity, recognition and tolerance, community awareness, and self-identity. The analysis targets analyzed multicultural elements of 'seeking human beings', 'core competences' and 'school organization and operation' during the elementary education curriculum in 2009. As a result of analyzing the multicultural elements of the former primary education process, 'cultural diversity' is 1,Recognition and tolerance'0, community spirit'3, and 'self-reliant'2 total6. In the new elementary school curriculum, 18 were analyzed as 'cultural diversity'1, 'Recognition and tolerance'1, 'community spirit'8, and 'self-identity'8. The first analysis of multi-cultural factors appearing in the new elementary school curriculum should include the addition of multicultural elements 'cultural diversity' and 'cultural diversity area' and 'education and tolerance' to the following: Second, to grow into a balanced multicultural society member, it proposes an enhanced multicultural curriculum in four areas: cultural diversity, recognition and tolerance, ccommunity spirit, and self-identity.
