대학생들의 교양강좌에 대한 인식조사 : 소비자교육 교양강좌 개설을 위한 기초연구 (University Students's Perception about General Studies)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a meaningful thought to professionals and administrators of Korea working for Consumer General Education development at their Universities. Also, tips for organizing and meaning Consumer General Education Curriculum effectively are provided. Finally, the study suggests essential elements to improve qualities of Consumer General Education in Korea Universities. This study's method are content analysis through web site and survey. The subjects of this survey were 257 students. The data were collected by qusetionaires developed by researcher and analyzed by frequencies, correlation Analysis, One Way Anova, Duncan Test, Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis. The major findings were as follows: University students's satisfaction level about General Education was low and the needs level about Consumer General Education was high. And the education service quality showed factors to be administrative service element, professor service element, classroom environment element, communication element. And Multiple Regression Analysis on each of the education service quality factors had been significant effects for find out the differences in the degree of satisfaction.

Analysis of plane frame structure using base force element method

  • The base force element method (BFEM) is a new finite element method. In this paper, a degenerated 4-mid-node plane element from concave polygonal element of BFEM was proposed. The performance of this quadrilateral element with 4 mid-edge nodes in the BFEM on complementary energy principle is studied. Four examples of linear elastic analysis for plane frame structure are presented. The influence of aspect ratio of the element is analyzed. The feasibility of the 4 mid-edge node element model of BFEM on complementary energy principles researched for plane frame problems. The results using the BFEM are compared with corresponding analytical solutions and those obtained from the standard displacement finite element method. It is revealed that the BFEM has better performance compared to the displacement model in the case of large aspect ratio.

Kano의 이원적 품질모형과 Timko의 만족계수를 활용한 공학교육의 질 향상 방안 탐색 (An Improvement Method of Engineering Education Quality using Kano's Dualistic Quality Model and Timko's Satisfaction Coefficient)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a method to improve the quality of engineering education by using Kano's dualistic quality model and Timko's customer satisfaction coefficient. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the top priority for major education is improve 'smooth support of class medium' as an attractive and one-dimensional quality element, and 'use of various examples' and 'specialty improvement of major curriculum' as an one-dimensional quality element. Secondly, the top priority for general education is improve 'liberal education curriculum' as an attractive quality element 'use of various examples' as an one-dimensional quality element. Thirdly, the top priority for extra-curriculum is develop and provide 'study support program of student' and 'voluntary service'. Fourthly, the top priority for administrative service and facilities is improve 'increase of scholarship' and expand 'service of welfare facilities as dormitory and refectory' as an one-dimensional quality element.

시뮬레이션 실습이 접목된 문제중심학습에 대한 간호학생의 PBL 학습요소별 인식과 학업성취도 (Learning Element Recognition and Academic Achievement of Nursing Student Receiving PBL with Simulation Education)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze how a nursing student recognizes PBL with simulation education and its relationship to academic achievement. Methods: The study objects were the students in C college who learn through PBL using simulator for 15 weeks(September 2007 to December 2007). Learning element recognition was developed by Cho(2002) and three key evaluations(performance, self-evaluation, and colleague evaluation) were designed by professors. Results: Learning element recognition ranged from 2.37 to 4.83 with the average at 3.94. For Learning element recognition, students who preferred discussion score 4.15. This was statistically more significant than those who do not. Students who preferred presentations show significantly higher score in colleague evaluation. For Learning element recognition and academic achievement, self-evaluation and colleague evaluation showed relationship to PBL learning element. Conclusion: There was definitely a relationship with PBL learning element and academic achievement after learning the PBL with simulation education.

원소와 원자 개념에 대한 과학 교과서 진술의 문제점 분석. 과학 개념의 역사적 변천을 중심으로 (The Problems of Science Textbook Contents Related to Element and Atom in the Viewpoint of Science History)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 원소와 원자에 관련된 개념의 과학사적 변천과정을 분석하는 것이다. 과학적 관점에서 볼 때, 고대 그리스 시대부터 보일과 라부아지에 시대, 돌턴 시대, 그리고 현대까지 원소의 개념은 다양한 변화를 겪었다. 원자의 정의는 고대 그리스시대부터 라부아지에 시대에 이르기까지 원소의 개념과 혼동되어 왔다. 또한 이 정의는 돌턴과 러더퍼드에 의해서도 변화되었다. 원소와 원의의 정의에 대한 중등학교 과학 교과서와 대학교 일반화학 교재의 정의는 다른 교과서의 정의와 상반되는 것으로도 분석되었다. 이러한 경항성은 4차 과학교육과정부터 6차 과학교육과정까지 지속되었다. 따라서 우리는 원소와 원자의 개념을 보다 명확하게 정의하여 학생들이 과학적 개념을 더 잘 습득할 수 있도록 도울 필요가 있다고 본다.

초·중등 공학교육 프로그램 구성 모형 개발 (The Development of Composition Model for Engineering Education Program of Elementary and Secondary School)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data and guideline to STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) educators who prepare engineering education in elementary and secondary school. For this, this study develops a composition model for engineering education program of elementary and secondary school. To do this, a literature research, experts interview and Delphi survey were conducted. Through the literature research, we extracted the components of model for engineering education program of elementary and secondary school and then made a first draft of the model. The draft was revised by experts while Delphi survey was used to validate the model based on Delphi panels' opinions. The panels for the Delphi survey consisted of 51 experts in the STEM education field. The survey was conducted three different times and importance survey was included in the third stage. The conclusions of this study were as follows: First, the model consist of definition, 4 directions, 4 characteristics, 3 educational goals according to school level, educational contents area and element, teaching and learning method and evaluation method. The educational contents area and element consist of 2 major areas, 7 areas and 18 elements. Second, all components of the developed model were valid in most of the statistics such as mean, standard deviation, the degree of consensus and convergence, and CVR(Content Validity Ratio). Third, importance for education contents area and element according to the school level are analyzed.

1D finite element artificial boundary method for layered half space site response from obliquely incident earthquake

  • Site response analysis is an important topic in earthquake engineering. A time-domain numerical method called as one-dimensional (1D) finite element artificial boundary method is proposed to simulate the homogeneous plane elastic wave propagation in a layered half space subjected to the obliquely incident plane body wave. In this method, an exact artificial boundary condition combining the absorbing boundary condition with the inputting boundary condition is developed to model the wave absorption and input effects of the truncated half space under layer system. The spatially two-dimensional (2D) problem consisting of the layer system with the artificial boundary condition is transformed equivalently into a 1D one along the vertical direction according to Snell's law. The resulting 1D problem is solved by the finite element method with a new explicit time integration algorithm. The 1D finite element artificial boundary method is verified by analyzing two engineering sites in time domain and by comparing with the frequency-domain transfer matrix method with fast Fourier transform.
