The currently and most widely used client/server architecture is composed of database servers and clients that include both application and presentation logic. To date, due to the rapid growth in WWW, these client/server applications are implemented using Java language, especially in GUI design at client sides and client/server applications development using JDBC. To develop the applications using JDBC, developers should design database schema, code source code for JDBC connection, design report forms to display selected columns from server-side database. In this paper, we propose a development environment based on JavaBeans component for client/server applications development using JDBC. The proposed environment minimizes manual coding and enables developers to develop client/server applications easily with the designed JavaBeans components and their custom property editor.

Embedded software generates its outputs using current states of the system as well as external inputs. When a module in embedded software is tested, we need an automated testing tool, which generates possible sequences to reach the module as well as input data of the module, to reduce the testing time and to improve the quality of software. In this paper, we use decision table to specify the functionality of the module and data-annotated MSC (Message Sequence Charts) to describe scenarios, and implement a tool, which we call MSCTest, to automate the testing process. MSCTest consists of MSC graphic editor, test sequence and data generator, and test driver generator. MSCTest is effectively applied to test EsWin which is a kind of window library used in embedded systems.

In this paper, we built an Object Oriented Framework for Web collaboration system which contains high level analysis information and design knowledge for java applets and applications that enable web clients to communicate and collaborate each other. Components of framework contain design information, source codes and executable codes for reuse. We had defined a development method for domain framework in related works and built a web collaboration system framework following it. We defined subsystem of web collaboration system for the communication and collaboration between web clients. We also BBS, Q&A system, board service system for the communication and collaboration between web clients. We also developed visual tools for framework usability : source code generator, class editor, knowledge supporting tools.

It is important to develop standard metadata to give more plentiful information about the forest cover type map and to promote distribution by National Geographic Information Clearinghouse. In this study metadata for the forest cover type map was designed based on TTAS.IS-19115 and it consisted of 10 packages and 50 elements. Also metadata editor was developed to implement metadata with standard schema and metadata viewer to service more user friendly interface. This work was about the first standard metadata for forest GIS data. So it would be a useful reference to develop metadata for other digital map concerning forest.

Human beings have been leading their life and desirable social life through communication. Human communication has been changed and expanded through language, letters, printing media, broadcasting media, and more recently network communication media. Since the invention of characters, books have been the human beings' communication medium that have the longest history, and they have preserved and succeeded human spiritual world. Children's picture books are also a communication medium composed of the transmitter of the information, message, medium, and the receiver, and makes the process of communication. The sender: writer, illustrator, and editor, analyzes children, special receiver, symbolizes messages, make up contents and make communication come true by selecting media and effectively delivering them to children. Considering the developmental characteristics of the receiver, children and their desires, visual media such as the writings and illustrations. The writings and illustrations are the most appropriate for communication with children. The first, picture books are for the communication between grown-ups and children, and also that with society for helping children find their identity and perform their roles. The second, through the message of writings and illustrations young children acquire human communication ability of this age. That is, they experience and learn visual communication and letter communication

Technical innovation on multimedia data processing brings us new multimedia services. Multimedia services are classified into five groups : TVs, computers, telecommunications, periperals, and softwares. This paper surveys on the services in various aspects and, in particular, computer areas are discussed in detail. To provide the services, major subsystems such as highspeed networks, operating systems, intelligent agent based user interfaces are discussed. In particular, multimedia operating systems are the most actively investigating research area as an infrastructure of multimedia computer systems to provide integrated multimedia services. So, the trends of new multimedia operating systems are analyzed and COSMOS (Collaborative Object Sharing for Multimedia Operating System) multimedia group presentation is discussed. The characteristics, model and abstract data structure of COSMOS is described. The performance analysis of 3 person conference system using audio, video and shared graphic editor on COSMOS shows that taking integrated multimedia operating system approach leads changing of new multimedia service environments.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the fashioning phenomenon of Muslim women's clothes and its significance for Islamic culture around Malaysia and Indonesia. The study examined the phenomenon of hijab, a cultural symbol of Muslim women, emerging as a 'fashion' rather than folk or religious costume, as well as its significance. As for methodology, the investigator reviewed research reports, previous papers, and literature studies home and abroad since 2010 and conducted an interview with seven female college students from Indonesia and Malaysia and one fashion editor from Malaysia staying in South Korea. The findings suggested that the high level of women's education and entry into society along with the Pop Islamic created an opportunity for hijab among Muslim ladies. The balance between religion and fashion leads to happiness among young Muslim women. Second, the modest fashion and global fashion retrends present a fashion culture and identify the diversity of aesthetic values around the globe. Finally, SNS and hijabista activities have promoted individual means of direction based on hijab to represent the identity of Muslims on SNS, they play an important role in the acceptance of global fashion and the fashioning and globalization of Southeast Asian Muslim clothes. The findings understanding of the consumers and markets of Muslim fashion related to global industries and contribute to the multicultural and diverse aspects of research and development in the field of apparel study.

Since the mid-1990′s, researches on 3D GIS have been regarded as one of main issues both in the academic sites and commercial vendors; recently, some prototyped systems or the first versioned software systems of commercial basis are being reported and released. Unlike conventional 2D GIS, which consists in intelligent structured GIS or desktop GIS, every 3D GIS has its own distinguished features according to data structure-supporting capability, GIS-styled functionality, external database accessibility, interfacing extents with 2D GIS, 3D visualization/texture mapping ability, and so forth. In this study, technical aspects related to system development, SERI-Web3D GIS ver. 1.2, are explained. Main features in this revised 3D GIS can be summarized: 2-tier system model(client-server), VGFF(Virtual GIS File Format), internal GIS import, Feature manager(zoning, layering, visualization evironment), Scene manager(manage 3D geographic world), Scene editor, Spatial analyzer(Intersect, Buffering, Network analysis), VRML exporter. While, most other 3D GISes or cartographic mapping systems may be categorized into 3D visualization systems handling terrain height-field processing, 2D GIS extension modules, or 3D geometric feature generation system using orthophoto image: actually, these are eventually considered as several parts of "real 3D GIS". As well as these things, other components, especially web-based 3D GIS, are being implemented in this study: Surface/feature integration, Java/VRML linkage, Mesh/Grid problem, LOD(Level of Detail)/Tiling, Public access security problem, 3-tier architecture extension, Surface handling strategy for VRML.

This paper presents the Web service generation system using virtual environments and databases. Main features include that the environments and databases are generated and maintained correspondingly. It means that the virtual environments are changed automatically if the databases are updated, and also that the databases are maintained accordingly as the information about the environments are modified at the scene End users can modify the property of the virtual environments in the scene directly using the VRML edit interface, which visualizes the structures of virtual environments. Each object can be accessed through the VRML editor, its property be modified directly, and the information is updated in the database automatically. Web service pages are maintained accordingly. In addition, we define a texture mapping method based on weighted view interpolation using 2 photo images for a scene. A texture mapping interface Is also provided for end users to generate realistic images themselves.

The purpose of this study was to examine the perverted labors of online newspapers' editors in Korea. Online newspaper editors' works were be influenced directly and indirectly by the printed newspaper, the parent company of online newspaper. Their labor conditions were poorer than online newspaper editors'. And online newspapers' editors didn't have status as professionals. They set a premium on Internet traffics on their works. For online newspaper editors' normal labor conditions, the most practical measure was to normalize the editorial system of online newspapers. How to raise the status of online newspaper editors was to secure the online newspapers' editorial right. And to conclude, to improve the quality of online journalism in Korea, the most urgent issue is to improve online newspaper editors' professionalism.
