  • Posttranscriptional regulation of RNA metabolism, including RNA processing, intron splicing, editing, RNA export, and decay, is increasingly regarded as an essential step for fine-tuning the regulation of gene expression in eukaryotes. RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are central regulatory factors controlling posttranscriptional RNA metabolism during plant growth, development, and stress responses. Although functional roles of diverse RBPs in living organisms have been determined during the last decades, our understanding of the functional roles of RBPs in plants is lagging far behind our understanding of those in other organisms, including animals, bacteria, and viruses. However, recent functional analysis of multiple RBP family members involved in plant RNA metabolism and elucidation of the mechanistic roles of RBPs shed light on the cellular roles of diverse RBPs in growth, development, and stress responses of plants. In this review, we will discuss recent studies demonstrating the emerging roles of multiple RBP family members that play essential roles in RNA metabolism during plant growth, development, and stress responses.

  • A geographical resource analysis support system (GRASS) was incorporated to an input and output processor for the agricultural nonpoint source pollution (AGNPS) model. The resulting interface system, GIS-AGNPS was a user-friendly, menu-driven system. GIS-AGNPS was developed to automatically process the input and output data from GIS-based data using GRASS and Motif routines. GIS-AGNPS was consisted of GISAGIN which was an input processor for the AGNPS model, GISAGOUT a output processor for the AGNPS and management submodel. The system defines an input data set for AGNPS from attributes of basic and thematic maps. It also provides with editing modes so that users can adjust and detail the values for selected input parameters, if needed. The post-processor at the system displays graphically the outputs from AGNPS, which may he used to identify areas significantly contributing nonpoint source pollution loads.

  • We developed a modeling and visualization software that can analyze 3-dimensional spatial information in the ArcView environment. The software constructs and visualizes an object in 3 dimensional space from the input data given a number of horizontal cross-sections. The software can generate and visualize the cross-sections of the object in any azimuth and inclination. Utilizing the program users can modify the 3-D shape of the object by interactively editing the cross-sections.

  • In this paper, We have studied for guaranteeing the clear display of MPEG-2 video sequence when conduct splicing of MPEG-2 system streams. we focus on the PES domain splicing considering video sequence. And we wish to make a base on the TS or PS domain splicing considering video sequence. For that, first, we compared and analyzed problems that is raised when different two PES streams are spliced and effects that affect the video sequence. And based on this analysis, we have searched for methods that resolve the cause of problems that can be happened in the display of video sequence directly in PES domain.

  • In this study, we implement the prototype modeler with non-manifold data structure using Open Inventor. In these days, Open Inventor is a popular tool for computer graphics applications, even though Open Inventor could not store topological information including a non-manifold data structure which can represent an incomplete three dimensional shape such as a wireframe and a dangling surface during designing. Using Open Inventor, our modeler can handle a non-manifold model whose data structure is based on the radial edge data structure. A model editor is also implemented as an application which can construct a non-manifold model from two dimensional editing.

  • Geometric shape morphing is an interesting geometric operation that interpolates two geometric shapes to generate in-betweens. It is well known that Minkowski operations can be used to test and build collision-free motion paths and to modify shapes in digital image processing. In this paper, we present a new geometric modeling technique to control the morphing on geometric shapes based on Minkowski sum. The basic idea develops from the linear interpolation on two geometric shapes where the traditional algebraic sum is replaced by Minkowski sum. We extend this scheme into a Bezier-like control structure with multiple control shapes, which enables the interactive control over the intermediate shapes during the morphing sequence as in the traditional CAGD curve/surface editing. Moreover, we apply the theory of blossoming to our control structure, whereby our control structure becomes even more flexible and general. In this paper, we present mathematical models of control structure, their properties, and computational issues with examples.

  • This paper describes the general process of making augmented reality game for real objects without markers. In this paper, point cloud data created by using slam technology is edited using a separate editing tool to optimize performance in mobile environment. Also, in the game execution stage, a lot of load is generated due to the extraction of feature points and the matching of descriptors. In order to reduce this, optical flow is used to track the matched feature points in the previous input image.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the consistency of external ear measurements obtained by electronic digital caliper, photocopier scanning and digital photographic methods. Photogrammetric measurements were made after image editing software was used to optimize the brightness, contrast, size and image clarity. The CorelDRAW dimension tool was used to create a dimension line that measured the vertical and horizontal length between any two landmarks. Results of repeated measures analysis of variance revealed no significant differences in length and width of the pinna between the three methods. The reliability of the three measurement techniques showed a high degree of consistency. Further study and efforts could be extended to measurement hands, foots and facial dimensions by present techniques.
