라플라시안 피라미드와 주성분 분석을 이용한 가시광과 적외선 영상 합성 (Visible and NIR Image Synthesis Using Laplacian Pyramid and Principal Component Analysis)

  • This study proposes a method of blending visible and near infrared images to enhance edge details and local contrast. The proposed method consists of radiance map generation and color compensation. The radiance map is produced by a Laplacian pyramid and a soft mixing method based on principal component analysis. The color compensation method uses the ratio between the composed radiance map and the luminance channel of a visible image to preserve the visible image chrominance. The proposed method has better edge details compared to a conventional visible and NIR image blending method.

곡면 모델링에서 3차원 경계 곡면 블렌드 구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Construction of 3-Dimensional Edge Blend Surface Modeling)

  • 3차원 자유 형상 곡면으로 이루어진 선형을 부분적으로 표현하기란 매우 힘들다. 선박 설계에 컴퓨터를 이용한 기술이 적용되기 시작하면서, 기하학적 모델링 기법이 개발되어 왔다. 선형 모델링에서,곡률 변화가 심한 선체 곡면의 국부적인 곡면 형상을 Blending 기법을 써서 표현하는 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. Blend곡면을 써서, 설계시에 도면상에 표시되는 작은 곡면을 부드럽게 표현하는 방법을, 선체표면과 돌출된 접합 부분을 Blending 하고져 하였다. 본 연구에서는, 두개의 Base곡면에 Blend반지름을 입력 했을 때, Blend곡면에 Blending방법을 이용하여 공간 좌표인 Offsets 데이터를 얻을 수 있도록 선박 설계에 적용하여 보았다.

Non Uniform B-spline(NUB) 곡면에 의한 블랜드 곡면의 모델링 (Modeling of blend surfaces by Non Uniform B-spline surface patches)

  • Presented in this paper is a scheme for constructing ball rolling blends of a non-uniform B-spline surface(NUBS) patches. Ball rolling blending is a popular technique for blending between parametric surfaces. Along the "common edge" of a pair of "base surfaces" to be blended, a sequence of "ball positions" is sampled. The radius of the ball may vary along the line. At each sampling point, a ball center point and a pair of ball contact points are computed by applying a Jacobian inversion method. Using ball contact points, the constructing scheme of blend NUBS patches consists three steps; 1) determination of intermediate control vertices; 2) determination of boundary vectors; 3) determination of B-spline control vertices. The proposed blending scheme has been tested in a Omega CAM system and found to be working satisfactorily.

3차원 다중 치과 CT 영상의 고화질 스티칭 기법 (High-quality Stitching Method of 3D Multiple Dental CT Images)

  • In this paper, we propose a high-quality stitching method of 3D multiple dental CT images. First, a weighted function is generated using the difference of two distance functions that calculate a distance from the nearest edge of an overlapped region to each position. And a blending ratio propagation function for two gradient vectors is parameterized by the difference and magnitude of gradient vectors that is also applied by the weighted function. When the blending ratio is propagated, an improved region growing scheme is proposed to decide the next position and calculate the blending intensity. The proposed method produces a high-quality stitching image. Our method removes the seam artifact caused by the mean intensity difference between images and vignetting effect. And it removes double edges caused by local misalignment. Experimental results showed that the proposed method produced high-quality stitching images for ten patients. Our stitching method could be usefully applied into the stitching of 3D or 2D multiple images.

전시환경의 영상 맵핑에 관한 연구 (A study on the Image Mapping of the Exhibition Environment)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상 콘텐츠를 전시 공간에서 프로젝션 맵핑(Projection Mapping) 기법을 활용하여 적용하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 일반적인 전시 공간에서는 작가의 작품을 전시하고 일방적으로 보여주는 방식과 스크린으로 정의되는 벽면을 이용하는 방식으로 전시를 진행한다. 하지만, 새로운 전시의 형태는 일방적이지 않고, 공간의 제약도 벗어난 방식으로 변화한다. 전시 공간의 구성요소인 벽이나 다양한 설치물을 공간의 구획을 위한 재료가 아닌 전시의 핵심 내용으로 사용하고자 하는 것이다. 이렇게 이루어진 전시의 형태는 공간도 하나의 전시요소로 이를 관람하고 새로운 환경에 대한 전시의 재미와 흥미를 느낄 수 있다. 영상과 공간이 융합된 전시를 구성하기 위해서 다양한 영상 기법이 필요한데 그중에서 중첩영역을 처리하는 에지블랜딩(Edge Blending)과 정형화되어 있지 않은 스크린 영역 투사를 위한 와핑(Wapping)을 사용하는 전시 방식에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 한다.

3D View Synthesis with Feature-Based Warping

  • Three-dimensional video (3DV), as the new generation of video format standard, can provide the viewers with a vivid screen sense and a realistic stereo impression. Meanwhile the view synthesis has become an important issue for 3DV application. Differently from the conventional methods based on depth, in this paper we propose a new view synthesis algorithm, which can employ the correlation among views and warp in the image domain only. There are mainly two contributions. One is the incorporation of sobel edge points into feature extraction and matching, which can obtain a better stable homography and then a visual comfortable synthesis view compared to SIFT points only. The other is a novel image blending method proposed to obtain a better synthesis image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the synthesis quality both in subjectivity and objectivity.

  • A new type of extended element-free Galerkin method (XFEM) is proposed on this paper. The blending region which was inevitable in the extended finite element method and the extended meshfree method is removed in this method. For this end, two different techniques are developed. The first one is the modification of the domain of influence so that the crack tip is always placed on the edge of a domain of influence. The second method is the use of the Lagrange multiplier. The crack is virtually extended beyond the actual crack tip. The virtual extension was forced close by the Lagrange multiplier. The first method can be applied to two dimensional problems only Lagrange multiplier method can be used in both two and three dimensions.

글로벌 e-서비스 기업의 현지 생존화 전략 (Glocalization of e-Services)

  • We have recently witnessed many of global companies did not successfully adapt themselves to local markets, and finally exited the markets experiencing failures. The purpose of this study is to suggest practical glocalization strategies for global e-service companies to run their respective businesses in local markets with success. Glocalization is a terminology blending globalization and localization, meaning that global companies adapt themselves to local cultures, environment, languages, laws and regulations so as to survive and prosper in those markets while maintaining high quality of standards and processes they originally have for global competitive edge. Examining success stories as well as failure ones of global e-service companies having entered Asian markets, we provide marketing mix strategy for successful glocalization, and suggest some guidelines for prospective e-service companies wishing to enter local markets with different cultures and languages to fit themselves to new environments.

다중스크린의 연속적인 배치를 지원하는 몰입형 가상환경 디스플레이 시스템의 개발 (Development of an Immersive VR Display System Supporting Continuous Arrangement of Multiple Screens)

  • The suggested modular projection system can have flexible arrangements of screens. Modular and continuous arrangements of the display system enable us to modify the screen configuration easily, so that the system can be used in various applications. The image of each screen is calculated automatically by using window projection and the tracked position of the viewer. This system also uses the off-axis stereoscopic projection for the seamless stereoscopic edge blending of multiple connections of screens. The system has been successfully tested for the general navigation model and the CAU driving simulator with motion platform.
