다단 축류 압축기 정익 흡입면에서의 비정상 경계층 유동 특성 (Flow Characteristics in Unsteady Boundary Layer on Stator Blade of Multi-Stage Axial Compressor)

  • Experimental study was performed to investigate the flow behavior in boundary layer on the blade suction surface of a multi-stage axial flow compressor, which was focused on the third stage of the 4-stage Low Speed Research Compressor. Flow measurements in the boundary layer were obtained using a boundary layer hot wire probe, which was traversed normal to the blade suction surface at small increments by the probe traverse specially designed. Detailed boundary layer flow measurements covering most of the stator suction surface were taken and are described using time mean and ensemble averaged velocity profiles. Amplitude of the velocity fluctuation and turbulence intensity in the boundary layer flow are also discussed. At midspan, narrow but strong wake zone due to passing wake disturbances is generated in the boundary layer near the blade leading edge for the rotor blade passing period. Corner separation is observed at the tip region near the trailing edge, which causes to increase steeply the boundary layer thickness.

음향방출법을 이용한 편측노치를 갖는 유리섬유/알루미늄 적층판의 파괴거동 해석 (A Study on Fracture Behaviors of Single-Edge-Notched Glass Fiber/Aluminum Laminates Using Acoustic Emission)

  • 본 연구에서는 음향방출법을 이용하여 편측노치를 갖는 단일 Al판재 및 유리섬유/알루미늄 적층판에 대해 인장하중하의 파괴거동을 살펴보았다 단일 알루미늄의 AE신호는 2가지 형태로 분류될 수 있었다. 유리섬유i알루미늄 적층판의 경우에는, 고진폭의 긴 유지시간의 신호를 대상으로 한 FFT 주파수 해석 결과 이러한 신호들은 거시적인 균열진전 및 층간분리에 해당하는 신호임을 알았다. 또한 도달시간차를 이용한 위치표정은 균열의 개시 및 진전과정의 특징을 보여주었다. 위와 같은 AE해석과 파괴관찰을 토대로, 편측노치를 갖는 섬유/알루미늄 적층판의 파괴특성을 해명하였으며 이는 섬유층 배향 및 섬유/알루미늄층 구성비에 의존하여 변화하였다.

  • Surface and edge finishing processes are important technological operations of in parts machining. Quality of the finished parts directly affect the performance of the whole product. Especially, edge quality, which depends on burr control, is extremely important. Burrs are undesirable projections of the material beyond the edge of the workpiece. A number of deburring processes have been developed such as barreling, brushing, chemical methods etc. But, there are only few publications in the area of applying ultrasonics to deburring. When ultrasonic vibration propagates in the liquid medium, a large number of bubbles are formed. These bubbles generate an extremely strong force, which can be used to remove burrs. Cavitation is used as a term to describe the erosion of parts caused by the action of cavities in liquid. The object of this study is to analyze the effects of ultrasonic cavitation in the deburring process. For this purpose, we introduce a new ultrasonic cavitation method, which efficiently removes the burrs. Experimental parameters to verify the deburring effects of ultrasonic cavitations are ultrasonic power, amplitude, distant of the transducer from the workpiece, deburring time and abrasive. It has been shown that deburring with ultrasonic cavitation in water is effective to burrs.

연속계 해석에 의한 보오링바의 비선형 동적 거동

  • In the case of a boring bar, the vibration amplitude is generallylarge due to its high slenderness. The boring bat is then modelled as a cantilever with dynamic force acting at the free end and a generalized model of nonlinear continous system is obtained. The Analysis of model is conducted for the specific case with a zero side cutting edge angle. The dynamic behaviour is investigated for machining processes in which the the overlap factor of regenerative effect is considered. The vibration characteristics of boring bar depth of cut rather than feed rate in given slenderness.

  • [ $CH_4-He/Air$ ] 대향류 확산화염의 저 화염 신장율에서 진동 불안정성에 관하여 실험적으로 연구하였다. 저 화염 신장율에서 진동 불안정은 Le가 1보다 클 때 소화한계 부근에서 발행하고 측면방향 열손실이 중요한 역할을 한다. 화염이 진동할 때 화염의 형태는 전진하거나 후퇴하는 edge flame이고 진동의 동적거동은 성장, 조화 그리고 감쇠 진동 모드 세 가지로 나타났다. 전체 화염 신장율이 감소하면 진동의 진폭은 커지게 되는데 이는 화염의 크기가 감소하게 되어 측면 열손실이 증가하였기 때문이다. 저 화염 신장율에서 edge flame의 진동 불안정성은 Le 뿐만 아니라 복사와 측면 열손실도 밀접한 관계가 있다.

Shaded apodizer가 광학 디스크 시스템의 wotodf 신호에 미치는 영향 (The effect of shaded apodizer on the read-out signal in an optical dise system)

  • 본 연구에서는 shaded spodizer가 광학 디스크 시스템의 재생신호에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 동의 중앙에서 가장자리로 갈수록 진폭이 단조 감소하는 shaded spodizer와 진폭이 단조 증가하는 shaded spodizer를 스칼라 회절 이론을 사용하여 고려하였다. 또한 bump 형태 변화에 따른 재생 신호의 변화를 조사하기 위하여, 원통형, 준원추형, 그리고 원추형 bump를 고려하였으며, 이때 bump의 높이는 $\lambda/4$로서, 위상 높이가 $\pi$가 되도록 하였다. 동의 중앙에서 가장 자리로 갈수록 진폭이 단조 감소하는 shaded spodizer의 경우에는 bump 반경이 증가함에 따라 재생 신호가 증가하여 극대값을 가진 후 감소하는 경향이 나타났으며, 진폭이 단조 증가하는 shaded spodizer의 경우에는 bump 반경이 작은 영역과 큰 영역에서 극대값을 갖는 특성을 나타냈다. 도한 구면수차를 0.5λ 포함하는 광학 디스크 시스템의 경우 진폭이 단조 감소하는 shaded spodizer의 최대 재생 신호가 spodizer를 사용하지 않은 경우의 최대 재생 신호보다 크게 나타났다.

Control of the VIV of a cantilevered square cylinder with free-end suction

  • A steady slot suction near the free-end leading edge of a finite-length square cylinder was used to control its aerodynamic forces and vortex-induced vibration (VIV). The freestream oncoming flow velocity ($U_{\infty}$) was from 3.8 m/s to 12.8 m/s. The width of the tested cylinder d = 40 mm and aspect ratio H/d = 5, where H was the height of the cylinder. The corresponding Reynolds number was from 10,400 to 35,000. The tested suction ratio Q, defined as the ratio of suction velocity ($U_s$) at the slot over the oncoming flow velocity at which the strongest VIV occurs ($U_{\nu}$), ranged from 0 to 3. It was found that the free-end slot suction can effectively attenuate the VIV of a cantilevered square cylinder. In the experiments, the RMS value of the VIV amplitude reduced quickly with Q increasing from 0 to 1, then kept approximately constant for $Q{\geq}1$. The maximum reduction of the VIV occurs at Q = 1, with the vibration amplitude reduced by 92%, relative to the uncontrolled case. Moreover, the overall fluctuation lift of the finite-length square cylinder was also suppressed with the maximum reduction of 87%, which occurred at Q = 1. It was interesting to discover that the free-end shear flow was sensitive to the slot suction near the leading edge. The turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) of the flow over the free end was the highest at Q = 1, which may result in the strongest mixing between the high momentum free-end shear flow and the near wake.

장력신호의 주파수 해석을 이용한 롤 형상 이상 진단에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fault Diagnosis of Roller-Shape Using Frequency-Domain Analysis of Tension Signals)

  • Rollers and rolls in the continuous process systems are noes of key components that determine the quality of web products. The condition of rollers and rolls(ex. eccentricity wear) should be consistently monitored in order to maintain the process conditions (ex. tension, edge position) within a required specification. In this paper, a new diagnosis technique is suggested to detect the defect of rollers/rolls (ex. eccentricity, wear) based on frequency domain analysis of web tension signal. The kernel of this technique is to use the spectrum amplitude of tension signal which allows to identify the fault rollers/rolls and to also diagnose the degree of fault in corresponding rollers and rolls. The experimental results proved that the suggested diagnosis technique can be successfully used to identify the defect rollers and rolls as well as to diagnose the degree of the defect of those rollers. The suggested technique can be applied to monitor and diagnose the shape of rollers and rolls in various multi-span web transport systems.

복합재 패치로 보수된 노치형 알루미늄 합금 평판의 음향방출 특성 (Acoustic Emission Characteristics of Notched Aluminum Plate Repaired with a Composite Patch)

  • 본 연구는 편측 노치가 삽입된 A16061-T6 알루미늄 합금 평판 시편에 대해 유리섬유강화플라스틱(GFRP) 복합재 패치의 적층수를 변수로 하여 보수히고, 인장 하중에 따른 시편의 손상 과정을 음향방출법(acoustic emission, AE)으로 실시간 분석하였다. AE 에너지 발생률(AE energy rate), hit 발생률(hit rate), AE 진폭(AE amplitude) 거통과 파형 및 1차 중심주파수(1st peak frequency)의 대역을 조사하여, 시편 파괴시 알루미늄 크랙(Al cracking), 섬유 파단(fiber breakage), 수지 균열(resin cracking), 층간 분리(delamination)로 분류하였다. 시편의 변위를 음향방출 특성에 따라 구간(region) I, II, III으로 나눌 수 있었으며, 패치 자체가 실제 파괴되는 구간인 구간 II를 세부적으로 분석하여 패치의 적층수에 따른 AE 특성 차이를 구하였다.

Trichel Pulse in Negative DC Corona discharge and Its Electromagnetic Radiations

  • We investigate in this paper the radiated electromagnetic waves together with the discharge characteristics of Trichel pulse of negative DC corona discharge in air in pin-to-plate and wire-to-plate configurations. The feature of the current pulse and the frequency spectrum of the electromagnetic radiations were measured under various pressures and gas gaps. The results show that the repetition frequency and the amplitude of Trichel pulse current depend on the discharge conditions, but the rising time of the pulse relates only to the radius of needle or wire and keeps constant even if the other conditions (including the discharge current, the gas gap and the gas pressure) change. There exists the characterized spectrum of electromagnetic waves from negative corona discharge in Trichel pulse regime. These characterized radiations do not change their frequency at a given cathode geometry even if the averaged current, the gas gap or the air pressure changes, but the amplitude of radiations changes accordingly. The characterized electromagnetic radiations from Trichel pulse corona relate to the formation or the rising edge of current pulse. It confirms that the characterized radiations from Trichel pulse supply information of discharge system and provide a potential method for detecting charged targets.
