Installation of MFC(Multiple FACTS Coordinated control) On-line System for the Spinning Reserve of a Reactive Power in Metropolitan Area (수도권 순동 무효전력 확보를 위한 FACTS 협조제어 시스템 온라인 설치)

  • In this paper, the on-line system schemes for coordinated control system of multiple FACTS were presented to enhance the voltage stability around the metropolitan areas. In order to coordinated control system of FACTS devices, MFC on-line system calculates the optimal set point(Vref, Qrev) of FACTS devices using the coordinated control algorithm with real time network data which is transferred from SCADA/EMS system. If the system is unstable after contingencies, the new operation set-point of FACTS would be determined using bus sensitivity from tangent vector at voltage instability point. Otherwise, we would determine the new operation set-point of FACTS for considering economical operation, like as active power loss minimization using Optimal Power Flow algorithm. As the test, MFC(Multiple FACTS Coordinated control) on-line system will be installed in Korea power system.

  • A sterilizer equipment by using electrical energy has merits that no process of chemical and no second environmental pollution. Also, the power conversion circuit for sterilizer equipment has merits that are reducing switching loss for soft switching topology by using zero current and zero voltage switching, and miniaturizing size of equipment. Thus, it is expected that the cost of sterilization process, when quality of the device is measured by power consumption, will be reduced. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to solve the sterilization problems of existing powder with plasma sterilization device, to find more economical and effective way, and to suggest more improved sterilizer.

  • This paper describes fault analysis of a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker of a transformer in a hydro power plant which is connected to the 154kV line. The fault is a single-line-to-ground fault, so that it gives power generation halt and economical loss. The analysis has been done in aspects of the status of the breaker, insulation degradation, surge invasion and earthing resistance of the switchyard.

  • The purpsoe of automatic steering system is to keep the ship's course stable with the minimum course error and rudder angle, and there have been a number of studies as to the optimal design and adjustment of the autopilot. Recently, modern control theories are being used widely in analyzing and designing the system. When a ship is at sea, autopilot installed on the ship plays an important role, particularly in the respect of economic aspects, that is, when the design and the adjustment of adjustable parameters are not conducted perfectly, the amount of loss in energy and the extension of sailing distance become large. Therefore the optimal design and adjustment of a autopilot are very important. Though P.I.D type autopilots are widely spread and generally used in modern ships, the suitability and the adjusting method are not clarified. In this paper the authors considered the stabilaity and the economical efficiency of the P.I.D. type autopilot and investigated various facts which should be considered at the time of designing and using the P.I.D. type autopilot through the digital computer simulation.

We can do economy of time, sending of official document, alumni bulletin, many kinds of guide note. post matter, administrative affairs. 3. In order to coordinated control of FACTS devices, f-V analysis method which is one of the indices for voltage stability was performed with real time network data which is transferred from SCADA/EMS system.   • Networked Control Systems(NCS) contain the structure which controllers, actuators and sensors are connected to communication network. And they have been adopted in large and complicated plant area due to the advantages of mitigating computational bottleneck and maintenance. Although this structure provides many benefits, it brings in problems of unpredictable communication delay, data loss and corruption. This phenomena have to be considered in designing NCSs since it affects on overall control system stability. This paper introduces network traffic test method for ethernet based NCSs to find out maximum network usage which guarantee stable control operation. Test results shows this methods can be adopted in various types of NCSs and contributes economical system design and effective system operation.

  • This paper deals with the three phase high voltage power-grid connection topology using multi-level inverter. Due to the multi-level inverter, these are improved effect of fluctuating voltage, problem of EMC and switching loss using suitable switching patterns of device, above all thing, it is easy to realize the system because of using lower voltage rating switch. This topology can be applicable to power-grid connection of wind system, there is a good point about economical efficiency. The simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed topology.

Static Behavior of Geotextile Container for Urgent Restoration of Rail Roadbed (철도노반 보수용 토목섬유 콘테이너의 정적 거동특성 분석)

  • Utilizing of the geotextile container shows several advantages such as standardized construction, factory manufactured products, the control of quality, workability, and economical point of view. Recently this technique can be applied to rehabilitate the loss of rail roadbed due to the heavy rainfall. In this study, a large-scale laboratory test were conducted with simulation of static performance on the geotextile container reinforced rail roadbed. Based on the laboratory test results, the vertical pressure distribution with respect to the depth, and settlement of rail roadbed were measured and compared test results between geotextile container reinforced case and unreinforced case. Thus, the effectiveness of reinforcement was evaluated in terms of its performance and stability.
