  • Co-optimization of Gen. Speed Governor & AGC are essential to control proper Frequency control & Economic Dispatch. Improper AGC Control result in the decrease of Electricity frequency quality & Generator Life cycle by over-regulating each Generator. This paper presents a number of AGC Area/PLC parameter tuning technique & better performance results. This optimal tuning was studied & implemented by System Operation Dept Korea Power Exchange in 2007.

Improved Pre-prepared Power Demand Table and Muller's Method to Solve the Profit Based Unit Commitment Problem

  • This paper presents the Improved Pre-prepared Power Demand (IPPD) table and Muller's method as a means of solving the Profit Based Unit Commitment (PBUC) problem. In a deregulated environment, generation companies (GENCOs) schedule their generators to maximize profits rather than to satisfy power demand. The PBUC problem is solved by the proposed approach in two stages. Initially, information concerning committed units is obtained by the IPPD table and then the subprob-lem of Economic Dispatch (ED) is solved using Muller's method. The proposed approach has been tested on a power system with 3 and 10 generating units. Simulation results of the proposed approach have been compared with existing methods and also with traditional unit commitment. It is observed from the simulation results that the proposed algorithm provides maximum profit with less computational time compared to existing methods.

  • 신재생에너지원 및 분산전원의 계통연계가 증가함에 따라 이를 효율적으로 관리하고자 하는 마이크로그리드에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 마이크로그리드는 효율성 및 경제성을 감안하여 열부하 및 전기부하를 동시에 공급하는 형태로 운용될 가능성이 높다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로그리드 에너지관리시스템의 운용과 관련된 기능 중 열부하 및 전기부하를 고려한 마이크로그리드에서의 경제급전에 대한 최적화 모델을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문은 급증하는 제주지역의 풍력발전설비의 증가에 따라 제주계통의 안정적 운영을 위하여 제주EMS 기능의 일부인 경제급전프로그램의 개선된 내용을 소개하였다. 풍력발전기의 출력은 수시로 변하고 그 예측이 곤란하여, 소규모 계통인 제주계통의 불안정성을 야기할 우려가 더욱 커지고 있다. 이에, 계통운영자가 제주지역 풍력발전기 변동특성을 고려하여 계통운영을 할 수 있도록 풍력발전량 대비 연계선 및 발전기 예비력을 설정 또는 계산하여, 경제급전 참여 발전기에 대한 발전량을 배분할 수 있도록 개선된 제주EMS의 경제급전프로그램의 개선된 내용을 제시하였다.

  • The capacity constraints of tie-lines in production cost analysis are very important issues in the operation and planning of MicroGrid power systems. This paper presents the Harmony Search(HS) algorithm to solve the Economic Dispatch (ED) problem with tie-line capacity limits in MicroGrid system. The applied HS algorithm has achieved efficient and accurate solutions for three-area MicroGrid systems with renewable power units.

  • 본 논문에서는 산업단지에 공정증기를 공급하는 열병합 발전소 건설에 대한 타당성 분석시 적용되는 기초 경제성 분석에 대한 것으로, 인근의 타 열병합 발전소에서 잉여열을 수열받고 중압급전을 하였을 경우 매전수익 및 기타 소요 금액 산출을 통해 연간 발생되는 발전소 경제성 평가에 목적이 있다. 시스템 구성은 순환유동층보일러, 증기터빈, 복수기, 급수펌프, 탈기기 및 급수가열기 그리고 수처리 설비로 구성되어 있다. 중앙급전 지시를 받을 경우 열원설비인 보일러는 최대부하로 운전되기 때문에 이때 전력생산량이 증가하였으며, 수열을 받을 경우도 수열된 증기는 탈기기 및 급수가열기 등의 열원 및 증기터빈으로 공급되기 때문에 전력생산량이 증가하였다.

  • Load forecasting is an important issue as for the economic dispatch and there have been many researches which are classfied into two classes, time series method and factor analysis method. But the former is not adaptive for a sudden change of a correlated factor and the latter is not inefficient as the factor estimation is not easy. To make matters worse, both of them are not good for the estimation of special days. It is because the load forecasting is not a problem modeled precisely in mathematics, but a problem requires experience and knowledge those can solve it case by case. In this viewpoint, an expert system is proposed which can use complicated experience of an expert by use of fuzzy decision.

  • This paper propose the method combined Priority and Tabu search (TS) for short term hydro-thermal scheduling. We satisfy various conditions using TS, Restarting method is used as diversification strategy of TS to prevent a local convergence. Also, we use Lagrangian method to solve economic dispatch problems.

  • The Paper describes the implementation of a quadratic interior point method for optimal power flow involves the determination of the optimal of a given objectives function subject to given constraints. The scheme developed solves the quadratic or linear optimization problem subject to linear constraints. The algorithm has been evaluated on a 14-bus system, and its accuracy and speed are demonstrated.

  • ln this paper, a method by which penalty factors of all generators including slack bus can be directly derived is presented. With a simple re-assignment of angle reference bus to a bus where no generation exists, penalty factors for slack bus is obtained without any physical assumption. While previous Jacobian-based techniques for generator penalty factor calculation have been derived with basis upon reference bus, proposed method are not dependent on reference bus and calculated penalty factors can be substituted directly into the general ELD equation to compute the economic dispatch. Equations for system loss sensitivity, penalty factors and optimal generation allocation are solved simultaneously in normal power flow computation.
