Purpose: This study questioned the efficiency of daylight factor as a daylight adequacy and investigated a method of how to complement its weakness by considering a direct sunlight component under a clear sky condition. Method: The Snowdon visitor centre cafe was chosen as a case study building and various techniques such as BRE formula, BRE sky protractor, Pilkington dot diagram and mock-upscale model under the artificial sky simulator were used to analyse and compare daylight factor values. An analysis of direct sunlight component under the clear sky condition was carried out by Climate Consultant 5.5, sun path diagram, and the artificial sky simulator. Result: The result of daylight factor analysis differed by the adopted techniques and it was also contradictory to the results on a direct sunlight penetration. The result not only showed the limitation of daylight factor as a metric but also suggested an improvement by combining it with direct sunlight analysis. The techniques used in this study had a merit of being applied in the early design stage and thus be beneficial to many design professions in order for early daylight performance analysis.
Recently, the construction and plan of super-tall building is attention link of new town development or urban core regeneration. Super-tall Buildings have many advantages and a lot of affects in urban contexts. Also, construction of super-tall building is will be able to social problem like urban core's decline, loss of openspace, incompatible urban scape, traffic congestion of urban core. But, compares to super-tall buildings affects in urban contexts, there was not extra ordinary study about super-tall building by the urban scale approaches. Therefore, need about study materplan planning of the site which is made to meet super-tall building and urban contexts. There are two main processes in this study. First, to analyze the factors affect to masterplan planning of the super-tall building's site. Through the analyzed factors, classify type of super-tall buildings and identify the type's state. Second, to classify and set the elements of masterplan planning factor in the site. Identify the masterplan planning factor's state by deployment materplan planning factor set the current applied to the constructed super-tall buildings. Through this process, identified the recent trend and providied the basic elements of materplan planning of super-tall building's site.
This study evaluated the screening level assessment of ecological health using four biomarkers and four bioindicators of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus as a indicator species in agricultural area of South Korea during May-June 2011. The endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) indicators, such as vitellogenin (VTG) and gonado-somatic index (GSI), were not significantly changed in the agricultural site (p>0.05), indicating no effects. The biomarkers and bioindicators were compared between two sites of reference site (RS) and the agricultural site (AS) for screening assessment of ecological health. The ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activity, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, and DNA damage were significantly changed in the AS compared with the RS (p<0.05). But the individual level bioindicators such as condition factor (CF), hepato-somatic index (HSI), and gonado-somatic index (GSI) were not significantly different from reference site (RS). These results may indicate impairments of ecological health by toxic chemicals and environmental conditions. Current this study is based on screening assessment of biochemical and individual level biomarkers and bioindicators, so further study is required additional biomarkers and population or community level bioindicators for more specific health assessments in agricultural areas.

The object of this research is to elicit the ecological wetland's creating and maintaining conditions through GIS and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) on common characteristics of wetland, by exploring the function of the long-standing and naturally created wetlands in South Han-river basin. Geomorphological, geologic, hydraulic & hydrological, pedological, environmental & ecological approaches of five categorizations were made based on the documents and precedent studies in order to perform the research object. Elicitation of the common creating and maintaining conditions on the objected wetlands through analysis of satisfactory conditions was conducted by performing an overlay analysis from the gathered information in each category and linking its result to each wetland. Also, elicitation of highly believable qualified analysis result was made by calculating the each factor's weight through application of AHP analysis method on each factor. The research result is expected to be applied effectively in suitability selection for creation of an artificial wetland and restoration and maintenance for naturally created wetlands when introducing the No Net Loss of Wetlands. In addition, with a new understanding on wetland and beyond the value of its conservativeness, this research result can be considered as a solution for Eco-Wetland's maintainable development.

The purpose of this study is to find out cold and fresh air producing areas using climate-ecological functions in Changwon city, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. The evaluation of climate-ecological functions were composed of the six factors: patch size with cold air generation and inflow functions, farmland and grassland ratio, mean slope degree, cross section types, mean slope length and roughness of bottom in valley. The analysis results of each evaluation factor in the study area were divided into 5 grades according to the capacity of cold air generation. The first-grade area with the highest factor values for cold air generation was take up 3.51% of the total study area, second grade was 13.48%, third grade was 31.65%, fourth grade was 27.28%, and fifth grade was 24.09%. According to the spatial distribution of cold air producing areas, the valleys around Mt. Bongnim, Changwon tunnel, and Anmin tunnel had higher evaluation grade. It will require the future research to establish the climate-ecological conservation areas and to construct the wind corridor based on the long-term microclimatic monitoring.
Background: The leaves and roots of Panax ginseng are rich in ginsenosides. However, the chemical compositions of the leaves and roots of P. ginseng differ, resulting in different medicinal functions. In recent years, the aerial parts of members of the Panax genus have received great attention from natural product chemists as producers of bioactive ginsenosides. The aim of this study was the isolation and structural elucidation of novel, minor ginsenosides in the leaves of P. ginseng and evaluation of their antiinflammatory activity in vitro. Methods: Various chromatographic techniques were applied to obtain pure individual compounds, and their structures were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance and high-resolution mass spectrometry, as well as chemical methods. The antiinflammatory effect of the new compounds was evaluated on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Results and conclusions: Two novel, minor triterpenoid saponins, ginsenoside $LS_1$ (1) and 5,6-didehydroginsenoside $Rg_3$ (2), were isolated from the leaves of P. ginseng. The isolated compounds 1 and 2 were assayed for their inhibitory effect on nitric oxide production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, and Compound 2 showed a significant inhibitory effect with $IC_{50}$ of $37.38{\mu}M$ compared with that of NG-monomethyl-L-arginine ($IC_{50}=90.76{\mu}M$). Moreover, Compound 2 significantly decreased secretion of cytokines such as prostaglandin $E_2$ and tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$. In addition, Compound 2 significantly suppressed protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2. These results suggested that Compound 2 could be used as a valuable candidate for medicinal use or functional food, and the mechanism is warranted for further exploration.
The objectives of this study are to identify the environmental consumer behavior, to examine the degree of environmental consumer behavior of the junior high school students, and to investigate the educational system of a school which influence the consumer behavior. The data used in this study are 368 male and female students in 9th grade in Anyang City, Kyunggi-do province. Statistics used for data analysis are means, standard deviation, t-test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the research are summarized as follows : First of all, as a tendency of the environmental consumer behavior of junior high students, the primary factor to the environmental problems was media, and among those, TV and radio was the medium to environmental problems. This implies the fact that the time juveniles interact with mass media is significantly growing, which means that transmitting environmental problems by programs targeted to adolescences through mass media would be effective. Next, the disposal process showed the highest environmental consumer behavior, followed by the consuming and purchasing process. Education on the purchasing process will be necessary to encourage environmental consumer behavior. The route of obtaining environmental knowledge was basically from school and the level of the average environmental knowledge fumed out to be low. This shows the need to produce and distribute media education materials because educating the conclusion of actual experiments will be more effective than that of theoretical studies. The conformity showed general indifference on environmental consumer behavior and the environmental resources were normally collected seperated. Conformity is a cultural bond teenagers think important, therefore education available for students about the same age should be developed. Next, the value intention of the surveyed showed that the ecological intention was highest, followed by economic and convenience intentions. This means the morale of the junior high students to environmental consumer behavior is set sound. Females tended to act more environmentally, while males showed more intention to economic causes. Also, the students of the boys-only or girls-only schools showed higher environmentally sound behavior in disposal processes. Finally, the environmental consumer behavior was influenced most by environmental consumer behavior of the conformity group, followed by ecological morale, frequency of encountering environmental problems, gender, environmental knowledge, whether the school was boys-only or girls-only or not, economical morale, respectively. The largest factor affecting the consumer activity of the purchase, consumption, and disposal process was environmental consumer behavior of the conformity group, along with the ecological morale, and the frequency of encountering environmental problems. This implies that conformity group is a large factor to the juveniles and a plan to entice the environmental consumer behavior of conformity groups are necessary.

The study was conducted on Godeoksan, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, for the study of elderly people's park use and satisfaction. For the analysis, frequency analysis was performed on all items, and reliability analysis was performed to check the validity of the items. Factor analysis was used to identify items that have a significant effect on the customer's satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis was performed using the derived factors. As a result of factor analysis, it was found that the factors affecting satisfaction were composed of three factors and 69.50% of the total variance was explained. The KMO value, which means the sample fit between items, was analyzed as .756. Factors were classified into usage aspect, ecological aspect, and amenityt aspect by reflecting the characteristics of the item. As a result of the multiple regression analysis through the derived factors, the multiple regression equation for the elderly's park use satisfaction was analyzed to be Y = 3.678 + 0.202X1 + 0.125X2 + 0.236X3. In this study, there are limitations in conducting a questionnaire survey for the elderly who lack professional knowledge. In the future, evaluation studies should be conducted for the elderly with specialized knowledge, and it is judged that a comparative study of ecological, utilization, and climatic aspects by age is necessary.
Greenhouse gas emission from agricultural land is recognized as an important factor influencing climatic change. In this study, the national $CO_2$ emission was estimated for paddy soils, using soil GHG emission model (DNDC) with $1km^2$ scale. To evaluate the applicability of the model in Korea, verification was carried out based on field measurement data using a closed chamber. The total national $CO_2$ emission in 2015 was estimated at $5,314kt\;CO_2-eq$, with the emission per unit area ranging from $2.2{\sim}10.0t\;CO_2-eq\;ha^{-1}$. Geographically, the emission of Jeju province was particularly high, and the emission from the southern region was generally high. The result of the model verification analysis with the field data collected in this study (n=16) indicates that the relation between the field measurement and the model prediction was statistically similar (RMSE=22.2, ME=0.28, and $r^2=0.53$). More field measurements under various climate conditions, and subsequent model verification with extended data sets, are further required.

This study was established to build and suggest the Ecological Performance Standards for replaced wetlands as the mitigation strategies for the construction projects. The request performance and assessment factors and standards were derived by bibliographic review and verified by the field survey for the reference wetlands. And the weights for each factor were derived by AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) method. The results are as follows : 1) Assessment factors were induced by in-depth research of many wetland assessment models and benchmarks evaluated ecological functions. This study proposed final 12 assessment factors through ecological specialist and experts interviews added with literature analysis. 2) 10 natural wetlands were selected as Reference Wetlands as the measure to propose assessment factors and assessment criteria. Those reference wetlands are well-conserved inland natural wetlands classified to the one having worthy to conserve (grade "high") according to RAM(Rapid Assessment Method). Reference wetlands chosen by the study are Parksilji, Jeongyangji, Mulkubi, Bawineupkubi, Jilnalneup, Jinchonneup, Doomoso, Haepyung wetland, Whangjeong wetland, and Whapo wetland. The research developed assessment criteria for the performance assessment factors based on several explorations of the reference wetlands. 3) "Requiring performance" of replaced wetlands is defined as "to carry out similar or same ecological functions provided by natural wetlands", in overall. The detailed requiring performances are as follows; ${\bullet}$ to play a role of wildlife habitats ${\bullet}$ to have biological diversity ${\bullet}$ to connect with other ecosystems ${\bullet}$ to provide water environment to perform good ecological functions 4) The assessment factors for required performance are categorized by wildlife habitat function, biological diversity, connectivity of adjacent ecosystem, and water environment. Wildlife habitat category is consisted of wildlife habitat creation, size of replacement wetland, and site suitability. Biological diversity category contains the number of plant species, the number of wildlife species, and number of protected species as the sub-factors. Connectivity of adjacent ecosystem is comprised of wildlife corridor, green network and distance from other ecosystem. Finally, water environment make up with water quality, depth of water body, and shape of waterfront. 5) Finally, every assessment factors were verified and weighted by the AHP methods and the final standards were proposed. The weights of factors of requiring performance suggested as habitat (0.280), connectivity (0.261), diversity (0.260), hydraulic environment (0.199). And those of detailed sub-factors are site suitability (0.118), protected species (0.096), distance to neighbor ecosystem (0.093), habitat creating (0.091), green corridor (0.090) etc.
