Purpose - National scientific technology R&D investment is exceeding 60 trillion won per year, and the results of patent applications and technology transfers are visually improving. However, despite the improving research results of national R&D, the practical results of technology startups are mediocre. It is now time to expand the construction of the technology commercialization ecosystem, where the expansion of national R&D leads to the results of technology startups. Therefore, this study discussed the measures to increase the competitiveness of technology startups through the factual survey of the companies that benefitted from R&D support programs. Research design, data, and methodology - This study targeted 996 companies that benefitted from the R&D projects of the Technology Transfer Center for National R&D Programs, and deducted itemized issues through the survey replies. Survey questions were prepared to estimate the national R&D results, and the technology recognition path, the purpose of detailed introduction of the technology, investment of the commercialization fund, economic results, and the factors of success and failure were analyzed. Results - As for the recognition rate of technology during the process of corporate technology commercialization through the technology transfer, recognition through project participation showed a high response rate, and diverse implications of technology commercialization were deducted through the analysis of economic results. As for the resolution alternatives, the proliferation of technology commercialization platform that can create excellent technology for the companies in early stages and the measure of expanding the distribution of technology infrastructure were suggested. In this study, public technology commercialization strategy is established, and the innovative marketing strategy is presented. Conclusions - This study reveal that the result of creating scientific technology jobs should be deducted, in order to produce the revolutionary results of job creation by suggesting the success models of technology commercialization based on domestic scientific technology. In particular, even though the support systems for public research results are being diversely suggested, accurate studies on their actual conditions are currently lacking. Therefore, this study suggest realistic political alternatives to assure results in the process of public technology commercialization, by examining the current state of public research results of R&D support institutions and diagnosing the issues.

The purpose of this study is to verify how the accounting information of a bankrupt firm which is defined as a dishonor, an impaired total capital, a poor financial performance of a business, a rejection of auditor's opinion and an incongruity of auditor's opinion differs from that of a healthy firm on the basis of the index of financial affairs if the accounting information released by KOSDAQ is valuable. The sampling firms consists of 45 KOSDAQ firms that went bankrupt from 2000 to 2007 and 45 healthy firms which are selected in accordance with the sizes of assets. It has also selected the 30 sampling firms for the confirmation of the model in the same way. According to the result of the in-depth analysis, the variables related to security among the 17 indexes of financial affairs that have been used in this study for 5 years show a noticeable difference between a bankrupt firm and a healthy one. The accuracy of failed firms using this model for confirmation demonstrates 76.7% in 5 years before the bankruptcy, 76.7% in 4 years before that, 65.0% in 3 years before it, 76.7% in 2 years, 88.3% in 1 year. This data shows that the process from a healthy firm to a bankrupt one has progressed gradually and confirms the value of the index of financial affairs, exhibiting the accuracy with 83.8% of a presuming sample and 76.7% of a confirming sample for 5 years.

An accurate early diagnosis of congenital midgut malrotation is essential to prevention of catastrophic effects of volvulus. To evaluate the usefulness of radiologic examinations in diagnosing intestinal malrotation, we retrospectively analyzed radiologic findings and operation records of 17 intestinal malrotation patients, who were radiologically diagnosed. The age range of the patients studied were from 1day to 12years. The presenting symptoms were vomiting, vomiting with abdominal pain, abdominal distention, diarrhea and failure to thrive. The viewpoints of this analysis were the location of duodeno-jejunal flexure on barium meal and cecal location on barium enema. Sixteen of 17 patients, who were radiologically diagnosed, were surgically proven, but one patient with annular pancreas was false positive. In the case of 3 surgically proved patients, malrotation was suspected on barium meal prior to the barium enema, but final diagnosis was determined on barium enema examination. We concluded that a barium enema should be performed on all children with suspected malrotation where the initial upper gastro-intestinal study was normal or suspicious on account of the small incidence of false positive and false negative barium meals.

Bum-in test is one for eliminating semiconductor devices that are subject to early failures and other operational problems; it is usually carried out on the devices by imposing severe test conditions such as elevated voltages, temperatures, and time. In order for such a test to be performed, each burn-in board having devices to be tested, needs to be inserted into a corresponding slot. A set of such slots is called a zone. The slots comprising a zone can only have the burn-in boards with the devices of the same type. In order to test many different types of semiconductor devices, it is desirable to build a burn-in test system to have as many zones as possible. A zone controller controlling a zone, is a device that performs a burn-in test and collects test results. In case of existing systems, each zone controller takes care of a zone that consists of a fixed number of slots. Since a zone controller is, in most cases, embedded into a workstation that controls the overall testing process, adding new zone controllers is restricted by the spaces for them. As a way to solve or alleviate these problems, a dynamic zone system in which the number of slots in a zone can be dynamically allocated, is presented. This system maximizes the efficiency of system utilization, by altering the number of slots and hence minimizing the idle slots of a zone. In addition, all the test operations being performed must be aborted for maintenance in existing systems. In dynamic zone systems, however, a separate and independent maintenance is allowed for each slot, as long as the main power supply system has no problem.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Inadequate nutrition in infants and young children affects physical growth and neurocognitive development. Therefore, early nutritional intervention is important to promote catch-up growth in young children with faltering growth. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutritional supplementation with a pediatric concentrated and balanced nutritional supplement formula on promoting growth and improving nutritional status in children with nonorganic faltering growth. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Children aged 12-36 months whose body weight-for-age was < 5th percentile on the Korean Growth Charts were enrolled. Children born premature or having organic diseases were excluded. Children were instructed to consume 400 mL of formula per day in addition to their regular diet for 6 months. Pediatricians and dietitians educated the parents and examined the subjects every 2 months. Anthropometric parameters were measured at baseline and at 2, 4, and 6 months, and laboratory tests were done at baseline and 6 months. The good consumption group included children who consumed ≥ 60% of the recommended dose of formula. RESULTS: Total 82 children completed the 6-month intervention. At baseline, there were no significant differences in all variables between the good consumption and poor consumption groups. Weight and weight z-scores were significantly improved in the good consumption group compared to the poor consumption group at the end of the intervention (P = 0.009, respectively). The good consumption group showed a significant trend for gaining weight (P < 0.05) and weight z-score (P < 0.05) compared to the poor consumption group during 6 months of formula intake. The concentration of blood urea nitrogen was significantly increased in the good consumption group (P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Nutritional supplementation with a concentrated and balanced pediatric nutritional formula along with dietary education might be an effective approach to promote catch-up growth in children with nonorganic faltering growth.

We have reviewed 157 cases of coarctation of aorta in the age of infancy and children from March 1973 to december 1994. Patients were 9) males and 64 females, and their age ranged from one month to fifteen years (23.8 $\pm$ 41.6months) with 113 infant cases. In the infantile age, congestive heart failure was the most common chief complaint (781113), and above that age, asymptom was most common (15/44). Isolated coarctation was present in 31 patients, and 9 patients had additional atrial septal defect (group I), 73 patients had associated ventricular septal defect (group II), and 44 patients had associated complex intracardiac lesions(group III). Aortic arch hypoplasia was present in 17 patients. , The operations perf'ormed were subclavian flap angioplasty in 71 patients, resection and anastomosis in 32 patients, patch aortoplasty in 26 patients, resd extended end-!o-end anastomosis in 27 patients, and direct angioplasty with resection of web in 1 patient. The early mortality was 17.2% (27/157) and re-coarctation rate was 18.0% (281157). The most common complication was respiratory problem in infants and postoperative hypertension in children.
Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) reconstruction using four-strand hamstring tendon with looping around transfixing screw in femoral tunnel requires osteointegration between the grafted tendon and bone for stability of the knee. Authors have experienced a histologic finding of osteointegration between the grafted autogenous hamstring tendon and bone in femoral tunnel after arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. A patient received arthroscopic ACL reconstruction with autogenous four strand hamstring tendon for the ACL injury. Traumatic re-rupture of mid-substance of ACL graft was developed at thirteenth week after operation. During the procedures of arthroscopic revision at fifteenth week after initial ACL reconstruction, biopsy was performed at the site of interface between grafted tendon and bone in femoral tunnel. Integration between the grafted tendon and bone was evident by demonstrating the continuity of collagen fiber between bond and tendon. This histologic finding and the low incidence of early graft failure suggest that free tendon autograft attached to bone by looping around a transfixing screw in femoral tunnel undergoes adequate osteointegration between 12 and 15 weeks after surgery and authors thought that insertion of bone chip into the femoral tunnel would accelerate osteointegration procedure.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficiency of arthroscopic treatment for infected total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and to investigate the factors affecting the outcomes. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 17 cases which underwent arthroscopic treatment to treat infection after TKA. After confirming infection by hematologic examination and analysis of joint fluid, we performed arthroscopic debridement, synovectomy and irrigation with normal saline mixed with antibiotics. Through routine examination after operation, we checked failure of treatment or recurrence of infection. If there is no recurrence until 2 years after the operation, we considered it as a success of treatment. Results: Of the 17 cases taken arthroscopic treatment, 13 cases were treated successfully with primary arthroscopic treatment only, but 4 cases had to undergo re-operation because of persistence or recurrence of infection. Analyzing the factors affecting the results, we found that symptom duration of the re-operation group is longer than the treated group after arthroscopy (p<0.05). Conclusion: Arthroscopic treatment can be effective when we performed appropriate selection of patients, careful and extensive arthroscopic irrigation and debridement, and suitable use of antibiotics. However, we have to do early arthroscopic surgery as soon as possible when infection after TKA is suspected.

Primary cardiac lymphoma is an extranodal malignant lymphoma of any cell type involving only heart and pericardium without dissemination. Patients usually present symptoms of heart failure, arrhythmias, pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade. Diagnosis of primary cardiac lymphoma can be performed by echocardiogram, CT and MRI and cytologic examination of pericardial effusion or transvenously biopsied cardiac tissue. Prognosis of primary cardiac lymphoma is poor. Because of poor prognosis, early diagnosis and complete surgical excision is essential and postoperative systemic chemotherapy or radiotherapy is useful. In this case extensive tumor infiltration on the right ventricle and atrioventricular groove preclude surgical excision. Tissue biopsy revealed primary cardiac lymphoma. After postoperative chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the size of intracardiac mass is decreased in follow up chest CT scan and echocardiogram and symptoms of patient are relieved. Therefore, we report a case of primary cardiac lymphoma with review of literatures.

Oligodontia is defined as the congenital absence of six or more teeth in dentition, excluding the third molars. The prevalence of congenital missing teeth is about 1.6 to 9.6% of population and the prevalence of oligidontia is about 0.08 to 1.1%. The mandibular second premolar is the most frequently absent after the third molar, followed by the maxillary lateral incisor and upper second premolar. Females seem to be affected slightly more than males. Oligodontia may occur either in isolation, or as a part of a syndrome such as ectodermal dysplasia. Different causes are possible for oligodontia: physical obstruction or distruction of the dental lamina, space limitation, functional abnormalities of the dental epithelium, failure of induction of the underlying mesenchyme, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or genetic factor. Because oligodontia would result in esthetic and functional problems, such as facial asymmetry or occlusal disharmony, early diagnosis from clinical and radiographic examination was necessary. And appropriate treatment plan should be followed. This case report was about oral conditions and treatment of the oligodontia patients who have no specific systemic disease.
