Application of RFID System for MES Enhancement -Focused on EPCIS Expended Model- (MES개선을 위한 RFID 적용 -EPCIS 확장모형을 중심으로-)

  • In the recent years, the companies have manually recorded a production status in a work diary or have mainly used a bar code in order to collect each process's progress status, production performance and quality information in the production and logistics process in real time. But, it requires an additional work because the worker's record must be daily checked or the worker must read it with the bar code scanner. At this time, data's accuracy is decreased owing to the worker's intention or mistake, and it causes the problem of the system's reliability. Accordingly, in order to solve such problem, the companies have introduced RFID which comes into the spotlight in the latest automatic identification field. RFID is an automatic identification technology by radio communication technology that allows us to identify or record information without contacting the corresponding object, and as Gen2 and EPCIS, EPCglobal's standard tag for RFID, have recently been established, it will be introduced to the whole computation industry. This study suggests RFID type Modeling Notation for analyzing logistics flow to improve MES focusing on extended model of EPCIS, and EPCISEvent Template in manufacturing industry.

  • The application service to use recently an electronic tag have been activated. Therefore research about a data processing of an electronic tag have been processed widely. Therefore, object information to be collected efficiently from various former tag for requesting a data processing of XML based on used widely in Web. For this EPCIS defined the standard interface to share EPC relation data. Currently, Core Event Type of EPCIS defined the Core Type to need in EPC network currently and Types about a business context do not define according to Apply field. We apply to EPC network to a specific business We need the type about the information which defines with Core Event Type. in this paper. We are defining an reusable object type which is used often in a business area. in this way design the schema based to an object information data model of a marine logistics apply to the object type to define in this way and Core Event Type to define EPCIS Specnt.

  • EPC Information Services (EPCIS) is an EPCglobal standard designed to enable EPC-related data sharing within and across supply chain. The EPCIS standard defines standard interfaces to enable EPC-related data to be captured and subsequently to be queried using a set of service operations and an associated data model. There are two kinds of EPCIS data: event data and master data. Event data is created in the process of carrying out business processes. Traceability of goods across supply chain is based on event data. Therefore, each company must have an event data. This study compared he difference between MS-SQL(DRDBMS) and ALTIBASE(MMDBMS) for data storage. We compared the difference between two database management in many respects such as insert time and select time. We come to a conclusion that ALTIBASE is more efficient than MS-SQL.

  • This paper deals with how to operate sensor data in smart livestock barn environment through EPCIS event schema design based on GS1 standard. We defines the types of sensors used in the smart livestock barn environment, describes the information using the GS1 standard identifier, standard event / master data structure, and standard interface for operating the sensor information, and stores / shares various sensor information of smart livestock barn defined in the schema structure.

  • 본 연구에서는 EPCIS(전자상품코드 정보 서비스) 시스템의 요구사항인 추상화, 고성능, 확장성, 상호 운용성을 기반으로 EPCIS 시스템의 구조를 설계하고 구현한다. EPCIS 시스템의 추상화를 위해 기존에 존재하는 다양한 데이터 베이스 시스템과 상호 운용을 위한 공통 인터페이스를 구현하고 내부적으로 확장 질의 인터페이스, 공통 질의 언어를 가진다. 연속 질의 처리 시간을 감소 시키고 중복된 결과를 효과적으로 처리하기 위한 연속 질의 처리 모듈을 구현한다. 또한 RFID(전자 태그)의 이력 추적 질의의 고성능을 지원하기 위해 RFID 환경에 최적화된 색인 기술과 질의 처리를 위한 구성 요소(Component)를 추가하여 EPCIS 시스템의 고성능 질의 처리를 가능하게 한다. 또한 확장성을 위해 저장소(EPCIS Repository) 관리자를 구현하여 비즈니스 이벤트의 메타 데이터의 스키마를 정의하여 새로운 종류의 비즈니스 이벤트를 쉽게 등록하고 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 기업의 응용 시스템과 협력 기업간에 정보 교환을 위해서 EPC 글로벌에서 제시하는 웹 서비스를 지원하며 표준 데이터 형식인 확장성 생성 언어(XML)를 사용한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 EPCglobal Network 상의 물류 정보 시스템인 EPC IS(Electronic Product Code Information Services)와 EPCIS Discovery System의 기능을 확장하여 사용자 정보를 유지할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서 EPC IS에 저장된 정보는 공개(Public)정보와 비공개(Private)정보로 나뉘고, 물류 정보사용자에 따라 접근 가능한 정보가 다르다는 전제하에 물류 정보 사용자가 물류 정보 접근 시 사용자 정보를 유지하는 EPCIS Discovery System과 EPC IS의 연동을 통한 물류 정보 접근 제어가 이루어질 수 있도록 방법과 절차를 제안한다.

  • EPCglobal Network is based on the Electronic Product Code(EPC) and rapidly opening up to many enterprises that have close relationships with each other. Since a huge amount of logistics Information is distributed in the EPCglobal Network, it needs to manage them effectively. Global logistics companies and institutes are studying and setting up the standards about EPC Information Service(EPCIS), Object Name Service (ONS) and EPC Discovery Service(EPCDS) in the RFID and EPC-based logistics information network. In this paper, we propose expanded EPCIS and EPCDS that are satisfy EPCglobal standards and enable more effective logistics information management.

  • Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology has been widely used to identify and keep track of physical objects. The EPC Network Architecture, which is proposed by EPCglobal to promote EPC and RFID technologies, consists of several layers to deal with the captured data. Many studies concentrated on dealing with RFID tag data (ECReports) from ALE. However, there is no well-known work on specifying how to generate high level EPCIS events. For the incoming ECReports, Capturing Application cannot decide to generate which event types and how to get the semantic fields. In this paper, we propose the new Capturing Application (NCA) to solve the problem. NCA can generate EPCIS events correctly and automatically.

  • Obtaining and applying information is considered as a critical task in the modern informationized society. Finding the one's necessary information and processing it into a detailed knowledge are becoming more priortized in the enormous amount of information. Data modelling is the process that does not only reflect the demands of the user but the one that also facilitates the user's comprehension of the model itself. Ultimately, data modelling fully supports the processes that are requisite for the implementation of a data base and minimizes the alternations of the model during the development of applications.

  • RFID/USN, are recognized as the new growth engines for the future, regardless of the advanced and developing countries. RFID, in particular, already entered practical stage by global companies. EPCIS, which is the one of the EPC golabal network components, makes a huge load on the system due to the large amount of entering data by following events. In this study, a data model developed based on ER-WIN by collecting four kind information that occurred in the EPC global networks. This model supports both in processing of high performance and huge capacity of data by a considerable storage capacity and input speed. A simulation was developed in order to verify the performance. Each model tested several times and results were compared.
