  • In this paper, we describe a study on the relationship between neutral emulsion manufacture and hardening test of films. The hardeners were prepared by condensation of equimolar amounts of trichlorotriazine with benzene- or naphthalene-based amino or oxy acids at 0 to $5^{\circ}C$ and at pH 7, and used as hardening agents for gelatin. The hardening test of neutral emulsion layers was studied at pH 7.0. For example I(R=ONa) had strong hardening properties, I substituted with an aminobenzosulfonate moiety $(R=NHC_6H_4-p-SO_3Me$ where Me = K, Na) was a much weaker gelatin hardener, and when substituted with amino- or oxynaphthalene derivative (II, III) did not harden gelatin at all. Compound with 2 dichlorotriazine groups as IV exhibited hardening properties. The hardener can be used in neutral emulsion layer of film and showed good hardening effect.

  • The aim of this study was to enhance the transfection efficiency of emulsion-mediated gene expression by using chitosan, Conventional DNA/emulsion complexes and precondensed DNA/emulsion complexes were prepared by adding either naked or precondensed plasmids to cationic emulsion. The zeta potential. TEM, and size of transfection complexes were measured. In vitro transfection efficiency for boty complexes was also studied by several methods: flow cytometer, expression analysis by confocal microscope, RT-PCR, and in addition. (omitted)

  • A study on the combustion and exhaust emissions characteristics by using Emulsion Fuel in Diesel Engine is performed experimentally. In this paper, the experiments are performed at engine speed 1800rpm, emulsion fuel ratio is 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and main measured items are specific fuel consumption, NOx and Soot emissions etc. The obtained conclusions are as follows. 1) Specific fuel consumption increase maximum 19.8% at low load, but is not effected at full load. 2) NOx emissions decrease 30% in case of emulsion fuel ratio 25% at full load. 3) Soot emission decrease 58.9% in case of emulsion fuel ratio 25% at full load.

  • This paper describes the fuel oil characteristics of mulching waste vinyl by indirect heating emulsion system. For the emulsion experiment of waste vinyl, the system is composed of melting furnace, the 1th pyrolysis furnace, and the 2nd pyrolysis furnace. The mulching waste vinyl is used for the fuel oil characteristics analysis of mulching waste vinyl. The refined oil, gasoline, and diesel oil are extracted and quantified to analysis the fuel oil characteristics. From the results of experiments, it has been shown that the production of fuel oil from mulching waste vinyl is possible using the emulsion system.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the properties of polymer-modified mortars using asphalt emulsion. The polymer-modified mortars using asphalt emulsion with various asphalt-cement ratios are prepared, and tested for flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption and permeability, carbonation, Cl ion penetration and chemical resistance. From the test results, the flexural and compressive strengths, water absorption and permeability, carbonation and Cl ion penetration depths of polymer-modified mortars using asphalt emulsion tend to be decreased with increasing asphalt-cement ratio, and chemical resistance is improved. It is evident that polymer-modified mortars using asphalt emulsion having an excellent properties as a waterproof and finish materials can be produced.

  • The core-shell latex particles were prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization of alkyl methacrylate and styrene(ST) by using an water-soluble initiator(APS) after preparing monomer pre-emulsion in the presence of an anionic surfactant(SDBS). In organic/organic core-shell polymerization, the pre-emulsion method, which minimized required quantity of sulfactant, has been used to increase the conversion rate and the stability of core-shell latex particles as well as to reduce the formation of secondary particle that cause problems of soap-free emulsion during shell polymerization. We used several methods to observe the core-shell structure. The core-shell structure was studied by measuring pH change during hydrolysis by NaOH, glass transition temperature($T_g$) by differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), morphology of latex by transmission electron microscope(TEM) and change of particle size and distribution by a particle analyzer.

  • Is very simple in tension work of screen mesh for effective printing if worker uses screen mesh of player who desire at screen print process. General method is methods that use mesh of player who want on screen frame as screen plate because tensioned. The single layer screen plate was made from one sheet screen mesh and the double layer screen plate was made from two sheets screen mesh overlapped. The thickness of sensitive emulsion applied to double layer screen plate is more thicker than two time s of thickness of emulsion applied to single layer screen plate. It seems that the sensitive emulsion inserted between an upper layer and a lower layer of double layer screen mesh.

  • Colloid refers to dispersed particles of solid or liquid having diameters of $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-7}$cm, among which colloidal silver is produced by electrolysis. Colloidal silver of various concentrations according to charge and time were formed, antimicrobial activity of colloidal silver was measured. And, the optimum conditions for emulsion were determined by changing the concentration of coloidal silver. Also, the stability of the emulsion was measured by zeta potential and chroma meter by applying colloidal silver to creams(W/S, O/W, MLV)
