New Performance Analysis of SSSC with EMPT Simulation and Scaled-model Experiment (EMTP 시뮬레이션과 축소모형 실험에 의한 SSSC의 성능 해석)

  • This paper describes performance analysis techniques for SSSC using computer simulations with EMPT and experiments with a hardware scaled-model. A switching-level simulation model with EMTP was developed for the SSSC connected in series with the transmission line. The increase of transmission capability and dynamic performance was analyzed with the simulation model. The simulation results were reverified by experimental works with a hardware scaled-model. The developed analysis techniques can be used for designing and evaluating actual system of SSSC.

  • This paper describes a dynamic var compensator to compensate the line reactance for power transmission and distribution system. The compensator consists of a voltage source inverter with dc capacitor, coupling transformers, and control circuit. The operation of compensator was verified by computer simulations with EMPT and experimental works with a scaled hardware model. The advantage of the proposed system is rapid and continuous regulation of the reactive power.

  • 제주-해남간 운영중인 HVDC 해저케이블에서 발생한 절연파괴사고('06.4)와 관련하여 써징코일을 이용한 고장점 탐색을 실시하고 고장지점 추정 및 향후 대책마련에 활용하코자, 제주-해남 HVDC 해저케이블 고장점 모의용 EMPT 모델링을 개발하였으며 유인잠수정을 이용한 실측 데이터 값과 EMTP를 활용한 시뮬레이션값을 비교하였다. 향후, 다양한 HVDC 해저케이블 고장유형에 따른 과도해석용 시뮬레이션을 위하며 본 논문에서 개발한 EMTP 모델링 활용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

  • The management of technological systems will become increasingly complex. Safe and reliable software operation is a significant requirement for many types of system. So, with software fault tolerance, we want to prevent failures by tolerating faults whose occurrences are known when errors are detected. This paper presents a fault location algorithm for single-phase-to-ground faults on the teed circuit of a parallel transmission line using software fault tolerance technique. To find the fault location of transmission line, we have to solve the 3rd order transmission line equation. A significant improvement in the identification of the fault location was accomplished using the N-Version Programming (NVP) design paradigm. The delivered new algorithm has been tested with the simulation data obtained from the versatile EMTP simulator.

  • According to the TIMSS and PISA, Korean students proved to score one of the best group among the participated countries on the cognitive area of school mathematics. As an attempt to find out the Korean students' trends of mathematics learning, we compared Korean and American 10th graders' mathematics test result. It was proved that Korean students were especially well equipped in retaining basic fact and formulas.

  • I take the position of the thirders on the sleeping beauty problem like Elga and criticize Lewisian halfers. In particular, I attack Franceschi's recent arguments for the halfers. In addition, I claim that Bostrom's and Kim's hybrid view is not satisfactory, because it is to pre-empt or to take the burden of proof that the problem is the genuine paradox. Consequently, the purpose of this paper is to show that the thirders' argument is more intuitive than others and what the fallacies of the halfer's arguments are.

Analysis on the Switching Surge Characteristics of a High-Voltage Induction Motor Fed by PWM Inverter Using EMTP

  • The PWM inverter drive may cause an over voltage at the motor terminal, which imposes severe electric stresses on the inter-turn insulation of motor windings. Unlike low-voltage induction motors, high-voltage induction motors have a stator type of form-wound coil for insulation and are insulated to the slot and the coil. So, this paper presents a PWM 3-level inverter, H-Bridge cascaded 7-level inverter and High-voltage induction motor model. It then analyzes the voltage that generates at the input terminal of the high-voltage induction motor fed by each inverter. Also, in order to examine a factor that influences the switching surge voltage, this paper proposes the system equivalent model and performs the case studies using EMTP.

Disturbance State Identification of Power Transformer Based on Dempster's Rule of Combination (Dempster 결합룰에 의한 전력용 변압기 외란상태판정)

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy decision making method for power transformer protection to identify an internal fault from other transient states such as inrush, over-excitation and an external fault with current transformer (CT) saturation. In this paper, analyzing over 300 EMTP simulations of disturbances, four input variables are selected and fuzzified. At every sampling interval from half to one cycle after a disturbance, from the EMPT simulations, different fuzzy rule base is composed of twelve if-then fuzzy rules associated with their basic probability assignments for singleton- or compound-support hypotheses. Dempster's rule of combination is used to process the fuzzy rules and get the final decision. A series of test results clearly indicate that the method can identify not only an internal fault but also the other transients. The average of relay operation times is about 12(ms). The proposed method is implemented into a Digital Signal Processor (TMS320C31) and tested.

  • Recently, UAVs and Drones have been used for various applications. In particular, in the field of surveying, there are studies on the technology for monitoring the terrain based on the high resolution image data obtained by using the UAV-equipped digital camera or various sensors, or for generating high resolution orthoimage, DSM, and DEM. In this study, we analyzed the accuracy of GCP(Ground control point) matching using UAV and VRS-GPS. First, we used VRS-GPS to pre-empt the ground reference point, and then imaged at a base altitude of 150m using UAV. To obtain DSM and orthographic images of 646 images, RMSE was analyzed using pix4d mapper version As a result, even if the number of GCP matches is more than five, the error range of the national basic map(scale : 1/5,000) production work regulations is observed, and it is judged that the digital map revision and gauging work can be utilized sufficiently.
