A EMC Certification Environment Management System using USN (USN 기반 EMC 인증환경 관리 시스템)

  • In EMC(electromagnetic compatibility) certification, the facilities and equipments have been considered as important qualification for registration of EMC certification business. In future, the certification environment is also supposed to be restricted Strictly. Many organizations have made on attempt to establish, certification environment as a international standard. Therefore, in order to enhance the competitive powers of domestic certification industry, a real-time system which can be measure automatically and remotely the temperature, humidity, illumination, CO/CO2, magnetic field, and human sensing is proposed in this paper. This system can also maintain the appropriate measurement environment by using USN (ubiquitous sensor network). The availabilities are confirmed through the experiment.

  • This paper addresses EMC test results for the EQM Communications & Broadcasting Satellite(CBS) Ka-band Payload System. The aim of the EMC test is to verify that the payload system has no effect on the other system and is not affected by the external field. The compliance of EMC system requirements was verified by the analysis and measurement of the emission level from the payload system. The variation of performance by noise injection was measured to inspect the susceptibility of the payload system. The analysis and test results also showed that the electromagnetic interference has no serious effect on the overall payload system performance. It is confirmed that the EQM CBS Ka-band payload system can be operable in the space environment from the EMC performance's viewpoint. It is also obtained that better performance can be acquired by improving waveguide design and integration method.

  • This paper presents the results of Ka band qualification model multiplexers for COMS Payload to be launched in 2008. These are the input and output multiplexers of the satellite transponder to use available frequency resources effectively and the diplexer of the satellite antenna to use the same reflector for both transmitting and receiving frequency bands, respectively. The input multiplexer with four frequency channels has four(4) independent channel filters which consist of an 8-pole elliptic band-pass filter for high frequency selectivity and a 2-pole equalizer for group delay equalization. For low insertion loss, mass and volume reduction, manifold type os employed for output multiplexer. E-plane T-junction is used for either splitting or combining a frequency band into two sub-bands. Asymmetric inductive irises are used to tune the receiving filter easily. The electrical performance and environmental test such as vibration test, mechanical shock test, thermal vacuum test and EMC test are performed and the results of all qualification model multiplexers are compliant to the requirement of each multiplexer. Followed by this qualification, the flight model equipment will be developed.

  • This paper describes and analyzes the HIRF protection standards of the helicopter category focused on external RF environments. In addition, this paper presents an ideal process of airplane design to accomplish the successful certification. Furthermore, this paper proposes practical recommendations to reduce RF energy on aircraft using specific EMI/EMC techniques such as shielding, grounding and filtering methods. Most of the proposed methods in this paper were key issues during the certification process of KC-100 small airplane which is Korea's first trial aircraft for civil airplane certification.

  • this paper proposes a filter design that makes to be satisfied EMC spec. in reliability test of analogue switch for electronic equipment and air conditioning load unit. A designed electromagnetic wave filter was applied to minimize an mutual interference and surrounding environment and improve the product's quality being satisfied to EMC standard. By simulation, using a spectrum analyzer at the 30MHz~1GHz band, ISO/JASO standard frequency range, and simplified EMI chamber, energy distribution of a specific frequency band was analyzed and the capacity of the element which composed the filter was determined in order to implement the most suitable electromagnetic wave filter.In fact, it was certificated that noise decrease by filter addition to the analogue switch for electronic equipment and air conditioning load unit in Certification Authority, and confirmed that the unit is carried out a normal action without electromagnetic wave interference.

  • The technical regulation and conformity assessment procedure of our country on ICT equipments is currently required to have more innovation due to the request of main trade countries, the second phase conclusion of MRA, necessity of expansion of conformity assessment service market and demand of manufacturers. The world's leading advanced countries have already proceeded with innovation based on privatization plan. According to the comparative analysis of the level, it turned out that Japan obtained the highest level of privatization while South Korea ranked the lowest level. According to the research result of examination and certification ability of private institutions of our country, it turned out that our country is expected to have possibility of achieving higher level of privatization than that of the present. Moreover, according to the questionnaire survey conducted to the persons concerned regarding privatization direction, they gave positive response to all the indicated survey contents of privatization direction in terms of "delegation of certification services to private sectors (contracting-out)", "transformation of EMC into private voluntary standard" and "changeover of conformity assessment agent". However, from the view of acceptance and conflict model, it is estimated that starting from "delegation of certification services to private sectors (contracting-out)" seems to be the most advisable plan. Also, prior to privatization, it is required to improve relevant systems such as certification examiner system.

  • Recently, we developed a new subway train with many cooperative companies. The main controller of the subway train is Control and Monitoring System (TCMS), so we conducted requirement analysis of TCMS considering system performance, easy maintenance and service oriented flexibility. Hence, we adopted new bus architecture and QNX as a Real-time Operating System (RTOS) and developed hardware systems. The functions of TCMS are employed into two computers, service computer and control/monitor computer, to increase on their performance and to yield easy maintenance and to satisfy customer needs. The TCMS controls and monitors control devices equipped in the train through various protocols which are implemented in hardware. In order to evaluate the performance of the system and to satisfy reliability, various experiments including EMC/ECI were performed. Now the TCMS is installed on the newly developed train and is under performance evaluation through test driving.

  • This paper presents guidelines for the verification test on electromagnetic environmental effects of a commercial derivative military aircraft. To prove the safety-of-flight of a renovated aircraft and appropriate working of electronic system/device, E3 test and analysis at the system level should be performed prior to its operations on real warfare. For the aircraft modified with Falcon 2000S, we concentrate on intra-system EMC, EMRADHAZ (Electromagnetic Radiation Hazards), electrical bonding, P-Static as test and lightning as analysis from a airworthiness certification point of view based on MIL-STD-464, MIL-HDBK-516. As a result, it is verified that the modified aircraft has enough electromagnetic compatibility capabilities under EME(Electromagnetic Environment). In the process, test and analysis methods considering shielding effectiveness(SE) are applied.

  • Solar and wind energy among the renewable energy produce irregular power because resource is difficult to control. When connected to grid have unstable. However, when the fuel cell system is connected to grid more stable because regular frequency and output power based on controllable hydrogen energy. To using fuel cell system in the household, it is important that the safety performance of power conditioning system(PCS) and it is important that evaluation method of electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). In this study, we consider that introduce power-frequency magnetic field immunity test before analyzed that compare with the EMC of the international standards and KGS AB 934 PC53. Also, we conduct that actual assessment and study on available the quantitative analysis as using complementary indicator.
