The Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on Financial Performance of Firms: Empirical Evidence from Vietnamese Logistics Enterprises

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has hurt the economy and negatively impacted all enterprises' financial performance. The COVID-19 pandemic has put a strain on global manufacturing capacity and supply chains, and it is also the pandemic that has given up new opportunities for the logistics industry to develop as e-commerce has developed. By analyzing the financial performance of logistic firms listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange, this study tries to quantify those consequences. A total of 114 logistic companies were included in the study's sample. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was performed to test the difference between some ratios in 2019 and 2020. This study found that the financial performance of 114 logistic firms listed on the Vietnam stock exchange has not improved. The data show that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the leverage ratio increased while the profitability and efficiency ratios decreased. The liquidity ratio did not show any significant differences. On the contrary, these businesses' performance, such as returns on assets, receivable turnover, and leverage, has decreased. The COVID-19 had a global impact on supply chains, therefore export activity and international transportation were badly hampered, with only a few domestic logistic enterprises growing.

  • The customized cosmetics preparation management qualification system was implemented in March 2020, and it served to create jobs by developing professionals and vitalizing the cosmetics business. However, various problems such as high examination fees, suitability of questions, and utilization in industries are emerging. This paper attempts to prevent disputes that the system can cause and suggest ways to improve it by researching customized cosmetics, the industry status, and comparing foreign cosmetics laws. There is a kind of opinion that laws should be eased for this industry and the other opinion that expertise is necessary in this field because of safety. The system now has adverse effects due to a failure to adjust the difficulty of the exam. Cosmetics are not prescription-based, so they are routinely used. However, some toxic ingredients can cause side effects if they do not conform with certain standards. Also, it is difficult for a case to lead to lawsuits because most consumer damages related to cosmetics are individual. In addition, as e-commerce develops, there is a growing possibility of seeing more consumer damages. If safety and distribution issues, which experts are concerned about, escalate, the private dispute settlement system (among the ADR systems) should be activated as a resolution method.

전자종이 디스플레이 기반 ESL의 시장현황 및 분석 (Market Status and Analysis of ESL Based on Electronic Paper Display)

  • Recently, retail technology has been developed by the rapid evolution of e-commerce and a representative example is ESL technology. In this study, we investigate ESL technology, market status and forecasts, and analyze the competitive structure between relational companies. Market analysis refers to data from market reports of Marketsandmarkets and Research, and internet media. In ESL, the display field is predicted to account for 43% of the total market in 2026, and is converting from LCD to electronic paper. The segmented type is becoming more advanced into the full-graphic type, and CAGR of 18.7% for 3-7 inches and 20.6% for 7-10 inches is predicted. The demand for ESL is greatest in North America and Europe, but CAGR is the highest in the Asia-Pacific region at 19.1%. Since ESL technology has a lot of overlap with semiconductor and display technology, the Asia-Pacific region is relatively advantageous, and this has led to rapid growth of domestic companies. However, it is expected that competition from European companies that are actually owned by Chinese companies will increase in the future, so continuous technological development and new market development are necessary.

  • System Intergration (SI) has resently been conceived as one df the most important tools for enforciong and reinforcing the competitiveness of an enterprise. A major concern of SI lies in sharing many types of information, such as engineering, production, finance, marketing, and so on. Product Data Management (PDM) systems are mainly concerned with product- related information, and also support a large portion of the Commerce At Light Speed (CALS) straitegy. PDM systems receive a great amount df attention form industry, A variety of PDM solutions have been introduced for the last few years, and its market has expanded very fast with an annual growth of 30%. However, in general, it is not an easy task to choose a right PDM solution for a particular company. A major purpose of this paper is to provide essential factors in evaluating PDM systems. While developing the factors. we consider the expected future trend of PDM technologies and three types of PDM-based intergration (frontward, rearward, and sideward integrations). We Propose to carry out the evaluation process in two fold. An overall evaluation is performed first to narrow down many alternatives into a few candidate systems, and then a detailed technical evaluation step follows to determine the final solution. A number of influencing factors are categorized and described in each of these steps.

  • Nowadays an information exchange on Bn such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-relational database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-relational database is needed. In order to build good quality application systems, modeling is an important first step. In 1997, the OMG adopted the UML as its standard modeling language. Since industry has warmly embraced UML its popularity should become more important in the future. So a design methodology based on UML is need to develop efficiently XML applications. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for In applications based on object-relational database using In. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-relational database schema to store efficiently XML data in object-relational databases.

  • Bsusiness-to- Business transactions requires interactions between diverse application s and business. This gives rise to the need to for a common standard and protocol for exchanging busienss messages. and RosettaNet is the leading industry organization focused on developing B2B process standard for a global supply chain. This paper is intended as an investigation of Build-up Method of SCM Connection applying EC Standard(Rossetta-net) to reduce the integration effort, and improve extensibility and interoperability of an eBusiness infrastructure.-Intiative way for E-commerce applications to quickly incorporate new standards. Supply Chain Management (SCM) helps companies plan and execute supply to meet customer demand. The researches of modem scientists have thrown new light on the subject. but, The study of SCM for EC Standard has been strangely neglected by critics. Consequently, existing SCM system, which require to introduce the functions of EC, needs to be changed. Let me summarize the main points that have been made in this paper. The sharing information for connection and the Rosetta-net standard of the existing SCM system, and PIP 3A4, order management module, of the Rosetta-net specifications for connection by the Rosetta-net. Lastly, That shows the process of the gateway for connecting among the existing SCM systems. This provides felxibility in incorporating any new emerging open standard.

앱기반 서비스 브랜드의 TV 광고 노출량이 검색량에 미치는 영향: 업종유형 및 검색언어 유형의 조절효과를 중심으로 (A Study on the Impact of TV ad Exposure on Search Volumes on App-based Service Brands: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Industry Type and Search Language Type)

  • TV media는 인지도 생성 뿐 아니라, 브랜드에 대한 인터넷 검색 행동을 유발하며, 검색 결과는 브랜드 홈페이지 혹은 E-commerce site로 연결된다. 본 연구는 TV 광고가 브랜드 관련 검색행동에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위해 국내 TV 채널에서 방영된 TV 광고량이 국내 검색 플랫폼인 NAVER 검색량에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. TV 광고 노출량은 한글 검색량, 영어 검색량, 총 검색량과 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 또한, TV광고 노출량의 변화는 검색량 변화에도 유의한 정적 영향력이 있었다. TV 광고를 실시한 업종별로 TV 광고량 증가에 따른 브랜드 검색 언어 증가량이 다르게 나타났고, TV 광고내용에 영어 로고가 표출된 경우 TV광고 노출량이 늘어날수록 영어검색 빈도가 한글검색빈도보다 더 빨리 상승함이 검증되었다. 따라서 국내 TV 광고량은 NAVER 검색량에 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었으며, TV 광고를 실시한 광고 업종과 브랜드 검색 언어는 조절효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 이에 따라 TV 광고는 한국인의 모국어가 아닌 영문 브랜드 검색 행동도 활발하게 일으킬 수 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있다.

e-Finance의 확산요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diffusion Factor of e-finance)

  • 현재 정보통신기술의 비약적인 발전은 물리적인 거래 패러다임을 전자방식으로 확대시키는 극적인 변화를 주도하고 있다. 주지하는 바와 같이, 금융서비스는 거래당사자간 대부분의 금융거래를 지원하고 있다. 그러므로 전자거래의 확대는 금융서비스를 제공하는 모든 금융기관들에도 영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 따라 모든 금융기관들은 정쟁에서 살아남기 위해 e-Finance 시스템을 도입하여 인터넷금융 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 이용자측면에서 인터넷을 이용한 e-Finance의 이용 실태와 확산요인을 분석함으로써 e-Finance 고객서비스의 질적인 향상과 신속한 확산 그리고 올바른 전략 수립에 기여하는 것이다. 본 연구는 기존문헌 검토와 요인 및 신뢰도 분석을 통해 e-Finance 자체에 대한 지각된 효율성과 지각된 신뢰 및 안전성, e-Finance 시스템에 대한 신뢰도, 기술적 요소, 고객서비스 품질 그리고 개인특성에 있어 혁신성향 등 6가지를 확산요인으로 채택한다. 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 가설 검증 결과에 따르면, e-Finance시스템에 있어서 기술적 요소와 고객서비스 품질 그리고 개인 특성에 있어 혁신성향은 e-Finance의 확산여부에 각각 유의수준 0.05와 0.01%에서 통계적으로 정의 영향을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 그렇지만 e-Finance 자체에 대한 지각된 효율성과 지각된 신뢰 및 안전성은 이의 확산여부에 별다른 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 e-Finance 시스템과 관련하여 시스템의 신뢰도는 통계적으로 이의 확산에 유의적이지 못하였다. 본 연구는 추후 이용자 측면에서 e-Finance 확산요인에 관해 실증적 연구를 하는데 기본적인 자료로서 이용될 수 있고, 이에 대한 기업이나 정부의 정책 수립 또는 구현과 금융기관의 고객서비스 품질정도 결정에 이용될 수 있다. 그러나 본 연구는 만족요인과 이의 e-Finance에 대한 영향을 다루지 못했다는 점과 국내 이용자만을 대상으로 했다는 점 그리고 다중희귀분석을 실시하지 못했다는 점 등 몇 가지 한계를 갖는다.

  • 새 천년의 화두로 떠오른 인터넷은 건설업의 위상을 새롭게 정립할 수 있는 도구로 활발히 연구되고 있으며 건설 CALS의 실현을 통해 건설업도 고부가가치 및 첨단산업의 대열에 동참할 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다. 이미 인터넷 입찰체계 및 건설분야 전자상거래 시스템 도입 등 다방면에 걸쳐 건설업에서도 인터넷이 점진적으로 활용되고 있지만 좀 더 다양하고 실질적인 면에서의 인터넷 활용이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 최근 건설 상황변화에 대처하기 위한 신속한 의사결정 도구 및 효율적인 관리기법의 필요성이 절실히 대두되었고 PRIMA 시스템은 공사관리를 위한 신기술로 개발되었다. 이 시스템은 인터넷을 이용한 Just In Time(JIT) 관리기법, 노무$\cdot$안전$\cdot$작업 관리의 통합 어플리케이션, 실시간 데이터에 의한 의사결정 프로세스 세가지로 구성되어 진다. PRIMA시스템은 대형공사 현장에 적용되어 이미 그 실효성을 입증 받았으며 앞으로 인터넷 환경이 좋아질수록 특정 프로젝트만의 관리 방법이 아닌 범용적 관리 기술로 자리잡게 되어 현장의 규모 및 장소에 관계없이 그 활용은 점점 확대될 것이다.

서비스업체 근로자의 직무요구와 직무 스트레스 회복경험이 직무착근도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Job Demand and Recovery Experience from Job Stress on Job Embeddedness among Workers in the Service Industry)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of job demand and recovery experience from job stress on job embeddedness among workers in the service industry. Methods: The participants were 223 workers from the service industry in P and Y Cities with the help of a structured self-report questionnaire, administered between July 10 and August 20, 2017. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Results: There were significant differences in job embeddedness in terms of satisfaction with salary, continuous service, perceived stress level and the perceived health status of the subjects. There were significant positive correlations between role clarification in job demands (r=.55), recovery experience from job stress (r=.27) and job embeddedness. From the multiple regression analysis, the most significant factors affecting job embeddedness were found to be role clarification in job demands (${\beta}=.47$), recovery experience from job stress (${\beta}=.23$), and perceived stress level (${\beta}=.18$). These variables explain 34.0 % of the total variance in job embeddedness. Conclusion: In order to increase job embeddedness among workers in the service industry, it is necessary to prepare measures to increase recovery experience from job stress and to decrease role clarificationin job demand, and perceived stress level.
