  • COVID-19 pandemic has brought the world into economic recession. This study aims to present an analysis of the readiness of creative e-commerce in Indonesia. Data was collected from various locations that may represent the Creative Industry in Indonesia. The quantitative method has been applied as a research approach by gathering questionnaires from 383 business owners selected using the cluster random sampling method. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that E-Commerce Readiness is very important in times of uncertainty such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The level of readiness will determine the continuity and sustainability of a company or business in a volatile business environment. E-Commerce Readiness can be evaluated based on Technology Readiness, Organizational Readiness, and Environmental Readiness. Not all perspectives are taken into consideration in making decisions about the implementation or improvement of E-Commerce in the pandemic period. Technology Readiness is seen as the most significant impact on a company's ability to cope with volatility, while Environmental Constraints encourage businesses to adopt E-Commerce and take it to the next level. On the other hand, Organizational Readiness has no effect on the E-Commerce readiness of the company because the company or organization does not consider this aspect.

  • Todays, computers in business world are potent facilitators that most companies could not without them, while they are only tools. They offer extremely efficient means of communication, particularly when connected to Internet. What I stress in this article is the risks accompanied by e-commerce rather than the advantages of Internet or e-commerce. The management of e-commerce companies, therefore, should keep in mind that the benefit of e-commerce through the Internet are accompanied by enhanced and new risks, cyber risks or e-commerce risks. For example, companies are exposed to computer system breakdown and business interruption risks owing to traditional and physical risks such as theft and fire etc, computer programming errors and defect softwares and outsider's attack such as hacking and virus. E-commerce companies are also exposed to tort liabilities owing to defamation, the infringement of intellectual property such as copyright, trademark and patent right, negligent misrepresent and breach of confidential information or privacy infringement. In this article, I would like to suggest e-commerce insurance or cyber liability insurance as a means of risk management rather than some technical devices, because there is not technically perfect defence against cyber risks. But e-commerce insurance has some gaps between risks confronted by companies and coverage needed by them, because it is at most 6 or 7 years since it has been introduced to market. Nevertheless, in my opinion, e-commerce insurance has offered the most perfect defence against cyber risks to e-commerce companies up to now.

  • The world of business is being profoundly transformed by the Internet and electronic commerce. E-commerce is driven by Internet and e-commerce technology. That is, the new e-commerce is commonly associated with highly developed technical elements, ranging from web , graphic design. payment systems and network infrastructure. Thus, it is necessary to decide which technologies are important and how they are related to each other. To anticipate the future of each information communication technology and electronic commerce accurately , we have attempted to develop a classification model of electronic commerce technology. A classification model for EC technologies consists of three categories: basic technology, base technology, and application technology. This model can play a role as a guideline in classifying EC technologies into three hierarchical category and in comparing the relative relationships of each electronic commerce technology. It will also provide an impetus for the study of electronic commerce technologies and for the shaping process of electronic commerce generally.
