Consensus of High-order Linear Systems with Directed Communication Topology Using LMI Approach (LMI 기법을 이용한 방향성 통신 토폴로지를 갖는 고차 선형시스템들의 상태일치)

  • This paper deals with the consensus problem for multi-agent linear dynamic systems with directed communication topology. All the agents are identical high-order linear systems and their state information is exchanged through a communication network with directed graph. It is shown that a consensus is achieved if there exists a feasible solution to a set of linear matrix inequalities obtained for a simultaneous stabilization problem for multiple systems. Examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a sensorless V/f control based on maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) operation for PMSMs is proposed. Given that the MTPA operation is not considered in the conventional sensorless V/f control, efficient PMSM drives cannot be achieved. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved technique based on the d-axis current control to enable the MTPA operation in the V/f control for PMSMs. A stabilization technique is also proposed to improve the dynamic characteristics and stability against load variation. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified by conducting experiments with a 250 W SPMSM for driving a blower.

  • In this study the attitude control of the KOREASAT is investigated. The KOREASAT is a geostationary satellite and its 3 attitude angles, namely, roll, pitch and yaw angles, are stabilized by using the 3-axis stabilization technique. In the pitch control loop, the pitch attitude angle received from the earth sensor is processed in the attitude processing electronics by using PI type control logic, and the control command is sent to the momentum wheel assembly to generate the control torque by varying the wheel rate. The roll/yaw attitude control is performed by activating a magnetic torquer or by firing appropriate thrusters. The magnetic torquer interacts with the earth magnetic field to produce the control torque, and the thrusters are used to control the larger roll attitude errors. In this study dynamic modelling of the satellite is performed. And the earth sensor, the momentum wheel, and the magnetic torquer are mathematically modelled. The 3-axis attitude control logic is implemented to make the closed-loop system and simulations are carried out to verify the implemented control laws.

  • In this paper, we propose a design technique for a neural network controller and apply it to power system stabilization. Using a learning algorithm of error back propagation that accepts error and change of error as inputs, the momentum learning technique is used by which reduction of learning time is possible for real time control. The related simulation results show that the proposed control techinque is more powerful than the conventional ones for dynamic responses.

  • A technique for power system' stabilization is presented using the variable structure control theory. The selection problem of the proper switching vector is very important subject for a design of the variable structure controller. In this paper, the switching vector is selected by desired eigenvalues allocation. and these desired eigenvalues are determined by eigenvalue assignment. Simulation results show that eigenvalue allocation variable structure stabilizer yields better dynamic performance than the others (conventional PSS, optimal linear stabilizer) and is robust to wide variations of the system parameters.

  • The present study has focused on numerical investigation on the flame structure, flame lift-off and stabilization in the partially premixed turbulent lifted jet flames. Since the lifted jet flames have the partially premixed nature in the flow region between nozzle exit and flame base, level set approach is applied to simulate the partially premixed turbulent lifted jet flames for various fuel jet velocities and co-flow velocities. The flame stabilization mechanism and the flame structure near flame base are presented in detail. The predicted lift-off heights are compared with the measured ones.

Hyper Redundant Manipulator Using Compound Three-Bar Linkages

  • A new mechanism for hyper redundant manipulator (HRM) is presented, which comprises of serially assembled compound three-bar linkages (CTL). The CTL mechanism has some unique properties. This paper presents the forward and inverse kinematics of this mechanism and shows the simulation of the HRM havig 9 CTL units. The recursive algorithm of the inverse kinematics that the author originally developed is employed. It is fast and stable ; moreover, it enables us to obtain a solution in which the end-point of the HRM is controlled by a portion of joints. It also presents the method of the dynamical analysis. There exist kinematical constraints in the proposed closed linkage mechanism. In the dynamic analysis constraints are sufficiently sustained by the constraint stabilization method that the author developed. The mechanical structure of the HRM having some CTL units that is under construction is shown.

  • To meet an increasing demand for high performance in gun dynamic plant, both a precise and a fast response positioning are strongly required for the gun servo system. A mode switching control(MSC) scheme, which includes a fine stabilizing controller, fast positioning one and a switching function, is widely used to meet this requirement. Stabilization is performed through PID controller, while a time optimal control method is used for target designation. In this paper, a modified PTOS(Proximate Time Optimal Servomechanism) algorithm is derived so as to accommodate the damping term in the gun plant model. Also, applying a mode switching strategy, the bumpless transfer is made possible when the controller switches from PTOS to PID. To show the effectiveness of the overall control system, simulation results are given including the gun dynamics.
