In this paper, we suggest a method for dynamic generation of SMIL documents by user profiles on the web. Generated multimedia documents are based on the SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) that are recommended by the W3C. The method generates automatically XSLT documents according to user profiles. SMIL documents are produced on real-time by integration of the XSLT documents and the XML documents that are made already. Most of conventional web-based documents are based on the HTML that is difficult to support reusability of documents are relation among multimedia abject. However, the suggested method is based on the XML, and so it supports reusability of documents and produces efficiently various SMIL-based multimedia documents. Application for the suggested method are as follows; Electronic commerce, tele-lecture, a web-based document editing, etc.

인터넷에 기반한 학습 콘텐츠가 보편화됨에 따라 이에 대한 사용자들의 요구도 다양화되고 있다. 이중 컴퓨터에 기반한 평가(CBT: Computer Based Test) 시스템은 학술적으로나 경제적으로 최근 그 방법론이 평가 및 개발 분야에 있어 다양하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나 현재 개발된 대부분의 CBT 시스템 환경은 관계형 데이터베이스에 기반하여 개발되었기 때문에 다양한 형태의 문제를 구현하기 어려울 뿐만 아니라, 관리 측면에서도 높은 비용을 요구한다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제점이 문항 정보는 동적인데 비해, 기존 전산 정보 환경은 정적인 것에서 비롯되었다 보고, 이에 대한 구조적 해결책을 제시하기 위해 최근 그 사용이 급증하고 있는 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)을 이용하였다. 컴퓨터 환경 관점과 문항 저작 관점 모두를 충족시키기 위해 XML의 요소(element) 정의는 컴퓨터 친화적(computer friendly) 요소와 콘텐츠 친화적(computer friendly) 요소로 분류하고, 각 요소별로 중복되지 않는 정보 유형을 추출하였다. 본 연구결과를 활용할 경우 기존 관계형 데이터베이스에 비해 동적인 정보를 손쉽게 구현할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 다른 XML 문서와 동기화 작업을 거칠 경우 문항 세트를 손쉽게 확장할 수 있어 경제적이고 관리가 용이하여 관련 분야 연구를 촉진할 것이다.

The macro-parametric approach, which is a method of CAD model exchange, has recently been proposed. CAD models can be exchanged in the form of a macro file, which is a sequence of modeling commands. As an event-driven commands set, the standard macro file can transfer design intents such as parameters, features and constraints. Moreover it is suitable for the network environment because the standard macro commands are open, explicit, and the data size is small. This paper introduces the concept of the macro-parametric method and proposes its representation using XML technology. Representing the macro-parametric data using XML allows managing vast amount of dynamic contents, Web-enabled distributed applications, and inherent characteristic of structure and validation.

본 논문에서는 동영상 미디어와 VRML, 그리고 컨텐츠를 웹 환경에서 Script를 이용하여 동적으로 상호 웹 프리젠테이션 시스템을 구현 할 수 있는 방법에 대해 연구한다. 동영상 데이터와 VRML, 그리고 컨텐츠의 정보를 자동화된 툴을 이용하여 동기화 정보와, 이벤트 정보를 XML 데이터로 정의한다. 그리고 XML 데이터를 기반으로 JavaScript와 VBScript를 이용하여 인터넷 환경에서 동적으로 동작하는 웹 프리젠테이션 시스템을 구현한다. 본 논문의 구현 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 컨텐츠의 정보를 XML로 정의하는 구현방법을 제시하고, 각각의 컨텐츠 간의 상호 유기적인 결합 및 동기화를 통해 웹 프리젠테이션의 효과를 높일 수 있는 방법을 제시한다.

The progress of information technology triggered the rapid progress of tourism industry and the industry has now grown to be the biggest and the highest value added producing industry. Tourism industry is characterized by its high information dependency and is subject to the frequent changes of schedule. Therefore, dynamic cooperations between the service provider and the service agent is essential. One of the latest trend in information technology is the popular adoption of XML as the standard means of document exchange in the internet environment. This paper proposes a supply chain management system which enhances the productivity and customer satisfaction in the tourism industry by exploiting the exchange of information in XML among the tourism society, which consists of the producer, the agents, and the consumer. This Paper is especially addressed to the applicability of e-SCM for the productivity enhancement in the tourism industry, which is known as the leading service industry in the internet environment.

In the monitoring system based on web service application, it is faced with the problems like code reproduction, difficult scalability and error recovery derived from the frequent change of data structure. So we propose a technique of monitoring system by DTD(Document Type Definition) automatic generation. This technique is to use dynamic server-side script to cope with the change of sensor data structure, generate the DTD dynamically. An it also adapt the AJAX(Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) for XML data parsing, it can support mass data transmission and exception processing for data loss and damage. This technique shows the result of recovery time is decreased about 44.8ms in case of temporary data failure by comparing to the conventional XML method.

The internet is comprised of various users with diverse hardware and software platforms. This paper presents a tourism information system which enables the stable and reliable transmission of information over the dispersed, heterogeneous, and/or mobile platforms. The proposed system assumes XML as the basic document format since it has been accepted by W3C as the standard for information exchange on the internet This paper exploits the characteristics of JAVA and XML as they provide software applications independent of the platforms. The proposed system also deploys Aglet, a mobile agent developed by IBM, to ensure a dynamic and flexible performance of the system over the internet. The system provides the user oriented search and retrieval of tourism information, and also enables the reservation of various services and facilities with mobile devices.

Schema matching is important as a prerequisite to the transformation of XML documents. This paper presents a schema matching method for the transformation of XML documents. The proposed method consists of two steps: preliminary matching relationships between leaf nodes in the two XML schemas are computed based on proposed ontology and leaf node similarity, and final matchings are extracted based on a proposed path similarity. Particularly, for a sophisticated schema matching, the proposed ontology is incrementally updated by users' feedback. furthermore, since the ontology can describe various relationships between concepts, the proposed method can compute complex matchings as well as simple matchings. Experimental results with schemas used in various domains show that the proposed method is superior to previous works, resulting in a precision of 97% and a recall of 83 % on the average. Furthermore, the dynamic ontology increased by 9 percent overall.

Web-Mail Services are implemented with SMTP and POP3 in these days. These web mail services provide not only the basic sending and receiving functions but also additional functions for user. However, the sent and received data are stored in the web mail server. So general web mail users can't process their mail data if they have not access ID for the web mail server. In this paper, we design and implement WMIS (Web Mail Integration System) using XML. In the proposed system, mail data and user's environments in the old web mail system are transformed into XML documents and inserted into database. In order to store XML data into database, we use dynamic document processing method and analyze XML file by record unit. When the users change their mail accounts, they easily can establish the web environments and their mail data. Because the transformed XML document is converted into WML easily, the WMIS can reduce development cost, labors and time.
