The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among the identity, lifestyle and satisfaction with family resources of rural married persons. The subjects of this study were 435 married women and men in Ansung. The major findings were as follows: 1. The identity of rural married persons was significantly different depending on their gender and educational level. 2. Their lifestyle was significantly different depending on their gender, educational level, job, the type of dwelling, and family income. 3. Their satisfaction with family resources was significantly different depending on their educational level, job, the type of dwelling, and family income. 4. There was positive correlation among their identity, lifestyle and satisfaction with family resources of the rural married persons.

The purpose of this study was to assess risk indicators of depressive symptoms such as demographic, socio-economical domains (age, gender, marital status, education, child, religion, income, health, friendship) and personality domains (neurotic personality, self-esteem and life goal attitude) of community dwelling elderly persons. A total of 300 community-residing elderly participants aged 65+ in a metropolitan city in Korea, were recruited for this interview survey. The interview covered demographic and socio-economic characteristics, and administration of the 20-item Korean Version of CES-D, the 10-item Self-esteem, the 19-item Neuroticism and the 10-itm Goal Instability scale. The prevalence of significant depressive symptoms (CES-D scale >= 21) was 31%. Logistic regression analysis showed high risk for depression was associated with high neuroticism, less intimate friendship, high goa1 instability, and childlessness, respectively in the order of significance. Factors in the personality domains were more strongly associated with depressive symptoms than factors in the socio- economical domains. Both cultural and universal meaning of the findings was discussed with regard to intervention.

On studying of microbes and appearance frequency which are floating around dwelling space and life environments in Seoul area, the results are summarized as follows ; 1. 1931 strains of 29 bacteria are isolated in dwelling spaces, Among them, there are Staphylococcus aureus, S. anthracis which are pathogenic to human beings. 2. In fungi, 76 strains of 13 species are isolated. That of highest frequency is confirmed to be Aspergillus which is pathogens of Aspergillosis (one of a group of diseases of animals and human being caused by various species of Aspergillus). The places, where the number of kinds and the frequency of appearances have been observed highest, are coffee shops, lunch counters and office rooms, while factory districts are of far lower level than expected. 3. 0.1% $HgCl_2$, Leasking oil, and Telephone disinfectant were better than any other in fungicidal effect.

The purpose of this study was identifying the user needs for the planning of public space in apartment dwelling units. 298 apartment residents in Haeundae, Pusan responded to the structural questionnaire, which included the residents' satisfaction for the location and size of the living room, the kitchen and the dining room, the space usage of the living room and the dining room, and preferred layout of the public space. The main findings are as follows. 1) The important household characteristics to consider are identified as family life cycle and the number of family members. 2) The levels of residents' satisfaction were differed by the household characteristics and the types of apartment. 3) Activities related to recreation, entertainment, and family meals in living room and formal and informal entertainments in the dining room were occurred in different way as to the household characteristics and the types of apartment. 4) The younger families in the smaller sized apartments had more diverse preference to the layout of the public space.

The dwelling transformations of Xiao-He-Long town have been begun with China Economy Policy in 1904. The characteristics of change progress are as follows ; 1. As with pine tree living for a thousand years and increasing profits nearby Yian-Ji-Shi, Xiao-He-Long town as rural district has changed in appearance. 2. In accordance with improvement of rural life after China Reformation and Open Economy policy, residents have a tendency to secure a minimal house site area $400{\sim}500m^2$, and a spacious house which is able to consist barns for farming. 3. Dwelling plan type If Korean-Chinese consists of 'whetongjib, 6 module of Korean traditional unit. 'Whetongjib' has undergone with a corridor attached in porch, main entrance from south to north. 4. Construction materials as structural members bring about a change as result of influencing economic profits nearby Yian-Ji-Shi.

There are many research Papers and experiments indicating that the geomagnetic field affects the people and living organism. People grow up and build up most of their character through living in dwelling space and have relax and refresh at home. Creating healthy dwelling space is being considered very important in architectural planning and design for providing comfortable living environment and improving quality of life. Therefore. it is necessary to investigate the geomagnetic field and people's response in living space. In this study the vertical component(Z value) of geomagnetic field in detached houses was measured, evaluated by related evaluation criteria, compared with interview survey.

The change of consumers' lifestyles causes frequent study on beds along with growth of economy, improvement of education and increase of dwelling in new towns and nuclear family. Beds are frequently developed in recent years since consumers' lifestyles increasingly change caused by transformation of types of dwelling, influence of western lifestyle, and increase uses of a bed. Also, this transformation causes needs for research on bed designs. A Bed is an essential item in a life since people spend one third of a day in Also, in contemporary, the ages of consumers are varied from infants to seniors. The study examines the importance of beds which playa major role in households. Moreover, the purpose of this study of beds focused on surface materials, colors, and designs is suggesting bases for future developments.

The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of depression and its affecting factors among a community dwelling elderly with Arthritis in Korea. A total of 4,050 subjects from the 2008 Korean National Older Adults Life Survey were selected. The data analysis was performed using the complex sampling function of SPSS version 20.0. Logistic regression analysis shows that depression was more prevalent as elderly who were uneducated, who had ADL limitation, who did smoke currently or formerly than had never smoked. The finding of prevalence of its risk factors is expected to promote the screening or prevention strategy for community dwelling elderly with Arthritis in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to examine how residents of assisted living facility (ALF) are satisfied with their residence and to identify the reasons for this satisfaction or dissatisfaction as a home. For this purpose, residents'experiences and opinions of the physical environment, the social environment, and the organizational environments such as policies and programs of ALFs were identified. As a multi-site case study, five ALFS in Southwest Virginia were studied using a cross-case analysis. Face-to-face interviews with 25 residents and five administrators of five ALFs, observations, and personal journal were done. Regardless of the type of facilities and the residents'characteristics, most of the respondents were satisfied with their current dwelling. In spite of high satisfaction with the facility, many people did not think of their current dwelling as a real "home." Residents of ALFs may have reordered their priorities in their current life situation so that safety, security, and care were more important to them than feeling "at home.""at home."

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) program on activities of daily livings (ADLs), quality of life and assistive technology satisfaction for disabled adults in South Korea. Fourteen community-dwelling subjects were participated in a home-based rehabilitation program which performed once a month for 2 months. The outcome measures included Modified Barthel Index (MBI) for assessing ADLs, EuroQol five-dimensions questionnaire (EQ-5D) for quality of life (QoL) and Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with assistive Technology 2.0 (QUEST 2.0) for assistive technology. Significant improvements in ADLs, quality of life and assistive technology satisfaction were observed after the program. This study indicated that community-based rehabilitation program is an effective method for improving ADLs, quality of life and assistive technology satisfaction for adults with disabilities.
