NEW BANACH SPACES DEFINED BY THE DOMAIN OF RIESZ-FIBONACCI MATRIX

  • The main object of this study is to introduce the spaces $c_0({\hat{F}^q)$ and $c({\hat{F}^q)$ derived by the matrix ${\hat{F}^q$ which is the multiplication of Riesz matrix and Fibonacci matrix. Moreover, we find the 𝛼-, 𝛽-, 𝛾- duals of these spaces and give the characterization of matrix classes (${\Lambda}({\hat{F}^q)$, Ω) and (Ω, ${\Lambda}({\hat{F}^q)$) for 𝚲 ∈ {c0, c} and Ω ∈ {ℓ1, c0, c, ℓ}.

  • In the present paper, we prove that our main inequality reduces to some trapezoid and Newton type inequalities for differentiable s-convex functions. These inequalities are established by using the well-known Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals. With the help of special cases of our main results, we also present some new and previously obtained trapezoid and Newton type inequalities.

  • This article establishes an equality for the case of twice-differentiable convex functions with respect to the conformable fractional integrals. With the help of this identity, we prove sundry midpoint-type inequalities by twice-differentiable convex functions according to conformable fractional integrals. Several important inequalities are obtained by taking advantage of the convexity, the Hölder inequality, and the power mean inequality. Using the specific selection of our results, we obtain several new and well-known results in the literature.

  • In this paper, an equality is established by twice-differentiable convex functions with respect to the conformable fractional integrals. Moreover, several Simpson-type inequalities are presented for the case of twice-differentiable convex functions via conformable fractional integrals by using the established equality. Furthermore, our results are provided by using special cases of obtained theorems.

  • We propose a new method of investigation of an integral equality associated with tempered fractional integrals. In addition to this, several Newton-type inequalities are considered for differentiable convex functions by taking the modulus of the newly established identity. Moreover, we establish some Newton-type inequalities with the help of Hölder and power-mean inequality. Furthermore, several new results are presented by using special choices of obtained inequalities.

Reliability of Colposcopy in Turkey: Correlation with Pap Smear and 1-year Follow Up

  • Background: A cytologic reading of a Papanicolaou (pap) smear followed, if the result is positive, by a colposcopic search for abnormal cells is the most common screening method for cervical cancer used worldwide. We aimed to present the correlation of smear and colposcopic findings with 6- to 12-month follow-up results and related factors in women who underwent colposcopy in Turkey. Materials and Methods: The study population consisted of women who attended the gynecology department and were referred for colposcopic evaluation in 2011-2012. A total of 232 women between ages 17 and 68 years were included. Colposcopy indications were ASCUS and higher lesions at cervical smear, macroscopic suspicious lesions, post-coital bleeding history with suspicious smear, and repeated cervical inflammation. All patients were recalled for 6- to 12-month follow-ups. Results: The most common colposcopy indication was ASCUS, and the most common biopsy result was inflammation. Nearly half of the patients returned for the control 6-month follow-up, and almost 20% of patients for a 1-year follow up. Conclusions: Colposcopic biopsy is an effective method in indicated patients but is not sufficient in itself if awareness of the subject is not raised in the population. One of the most important aims of cancer screening programs should be enabling patients in developing countries to take responsibility. Patients must be encouraged to apply to the hospital for better disease control.

Determination of homogeneity index of cementitious composites produced with eps beads by image processing techniques

  • With the improvements in computer technologies, utilization of image processing techniques has increased in many areas (such as medicine, defence industry, other industries etc.) Many different image processing techniques are used for surface analysis, detection of manufacturing defects, and determination of physical and mechanical characteristics of composite materials. In this study, cementitious composites were obtained by addition of Grounded Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBFS), Styrene Butadiene polymer (SBR), and Grounded Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag and Styrene Butadiene polymer together (GGBFS+SBR). Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) beads were added to these cementitious composites in different ratios (20%, 40% and 60%). The mechanical and physical characteristics of the composites were determined, and homogeneity indexes of the composites were determined by image processing techniques to determine EPS distribution forms in them. Physical and mechanical characteristics of the produced samples were obtained by applying consistency, density, water absorption, compressive strength (7 and 28 days), flexural strength (7 and 28 days) and tensile splitting strength (7 and 28 days) tests on them. Also, visual examination by using digital microscope, and image analysis by using image processing techniques with open source coded ImageJ program were performed. As a result of the study, it is determined that GGBFS and SBR addition strengthens the adhesion sites formed as it increases the adhesion power of the mixture and helps to get rid of the segregation problem caused by EPS. As a result of the image processing analysis it is demonstrated that GGBFS and SBR addition has positive contribution on homogeneity index.

Analyzing the compressive strength of clinker mortars using approximate reasoning approaches - ANN vs MLR

  • In this paper, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) models were discussed to determine the compressive strength of clinker mortars cured for 1, 2, 7 and 28 days. In the experimental stage, 1288 mortar samples were produced from 322 different clinker specimens and compressive strength tests were performed on these samples. Chemical properties of the clinker samples were also determined. In the modeling stage, these experimental results were used to construct the models. In the models tricalcium silicate ($C_3S$), dicalcium silicate ($C_2S$), tricalcium aluminate ($C_3A$), tetracalcium alumina ferrite ($C_4AF$), blaine values, specific gravity and age of samples were used as inputs and the compressive strength of clinker samples was used as output. The approximate reasoning ability of the models compared using some statistical parameters. As a result, ANN has shown satisfying relation with experimental results and suggests an alternative approach to evaluate compressive strength estimation of clinker mortars using related inputs. Furthermore MLR model showed a poor ability to predict.

Nuclear energy consumption, nuclear fusion reactors and environmental quality: The case of G7 countries

  • Global climate change brings environmental quality sensitivity, especially in developed countries. Developed countries use non-renewable energy sources intensively both in their own countries and in other countries, they make productions that cause an enormous rate of increase in CO2 emissions and unsustainable environmental costs. This has increased the interest in environmentally friendly alternative energy sources. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of nuclear energy consumption and technological innovation on environmental quality in G7 countries using annual data over the period 1970-2015. The Panel Threshold Regression Model was used for the analysis. Empirical findings have indicated that the relationship between nuclear energy consumption and carbon emissions differs according to innovation for nuclear power plants. It was also concluded that nuclear energy consumption reduces carbon emissions more after a certain level of innovation. This result shows that the increase in innovative technologies for nuclear power plants not only increases energy efficiency but also contributes positively to environmental quality.

The influence of L-arginine as an additive on the compressive strength and hydration reaction of Portland cement

  • The concrete quality relies on general factors like preparation technique, uniformity of the compaction, amount and appropriateness of the additives. The current article investigates the impact of a well knows amino acid, L-arginine as an additive on water requirements, setting durations and characterization of various cement samples. Compressive strength tests of reference and L-arginine added cements at age of 2, 7 and 28 days were carried out according to TS-EN 196-1. Samples were blended by incorporating various amounts of L-arginine (25 ppm, 50 ppm and 75 ppm) in the cement water mixture which were tested with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TG), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) on the 28th day. Results revealed that L-arginine does not affect the setting time, volume expansion of cement and water demands negatively; rather it imparts enhanced sustainability to the samples. It was determined that the highest value belonged to the 75L mortar with an increase of 2.6% compared to the reference sample when the compressive strengths of all mortars were compared on the 28th day. Besides, it has been observed that the development of calcium silicate hydrate or C-S-H gel, calcium hydroxide or CH and other hydrated products are associated with each other. L-arginine definitely has a contribution in the consumption of CH formed in the hydration process.
