소형항공기용 고정식 착륙장치의 동적특성에 관한 연구

  • Most of studies for landing gear have been performed to analyze the shock absorbing characteristics of oleo-pneumatic struts. But it is not easy to solve the dynamic specific properties of spring type composite landing gear using a present method. The shock absorbing abilities of oleo-pneumatic landing gear strut are under influence of the internal design method on the strut rather than the landing gear structure itself. Unlike oleo type, spring type composite strut absorbs the shock with structural strength and dynamic characteristics of the strut's material and shape. The tests and analysis for the shock absorbing rate and dynamic behavior of the spring type composite fixed landing gear for 4 seats small aircraft, have been performed using landing gear drop test rig.

Coin Drop Simulation based on Smoothed Particles Hydrodynamics

  • Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH) method uses a grid of historical analysis and is not Lagrangian particles using the grid method. The Navier-Stokes equations were used to solve the viscous flow of the non-compressed. In this study, the numerical analysis of the three-dimensional Coin Drop Simulation using SPH method was performed, and the analysis results are compared with experimental results, and a similar behavior can be seen. The commercial program used was Abaqus/Explicit. SPH method to reduce the error by comparing the existing flow analysis or interpretation of the continuing research is needed in the future. That will enable real-time analysis of material obtained as a result of these numerical simulations similar to the actual flow phenomena, depending on the development of computer graphics technology to show visually. As a result, this method can be applied to the analysis fluid - structure interaction problems in a variety of fields.

Seismic Test of the Control Rod Drive Mechanism for JRTR (JRTR 제어봉구동장치의 내진시험)

  • A control rod drive mechanism(CRDM) is a reactor regulating system, which inserts, withdraws or maintains a control rod within a reactor core to control the reactivity of the core. The CRDM for Jordan Research and Training Reactor with 5MW power has been designed and fabricated based on the HANARO’s experience through KAERI and DAEWOO consortium. This paper describes the seismic test results to demonstrate the operability, the drop performance and the structural integrity of CRDM during or after seismic excitations. The seismic tests are carried out under 5 OBE and 1 SSE loads at three Test Rigs simulating the reactor structure and the pool top. From the tests, the CRDM is smoothly driven without a malfunction of stepping motor under OBE load. The pure drop time under OBE and SSE loads is measured as 1.169s and 1.855s to meet the design requirement. Also, it is found that the CRDM maintains the structural integrity without a change of the function and natural frequency before and after seismic loads.

Deformation Properties of TiC-Mo Eutectic Composite at High Temperature (TiC-Mo 공정복합재료의 고온 변형특성)

  • The deformation properties of a TiC-Mo eutectic composite were investigated in a compression test at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 2053 K and at strain rates ranging from $3.9{\times}10^{-5}s^{-1}$ to $4.9{\times}10^{-3}s^{-1}$. It was found that this material shows excellent high-temperature strength as well as appreciable room-temperature toughness, suggesting that the material is a good candidate for high-temperature application as a structure material. At a low-temperature, high strength is observed. The deformation behavior is different among the three temperature ranges tested here, i.e., low, intermediate and high. At an intermediate temperature, no yield drop occurs, and from the beginning the work hardening level is high. At a high temperature, a yield drop occurs again, after which deformation proceeds with nearly constant stress. The temperature- and yield-stress-dependence of the strain is the strongest in this case among the three temperature ranges. The observed high-temperature deformation behavior suggests that the excellent high-temperature strength is due to the constraining of the deformation in the Mo phase by the thin TiC components, which is considerably stronger than bulk TiC. It is also concluded that the appreciable room-temperature toughness is ascribed to the frequent branching of crack paths as well as to the plastic deformation of the Mo phase.

Implementation of Communication to Flexibly Configure the Number of Railway Cars (철도차량 수를 유연하게 구성할 수 있는 통신시스템 구현)

  • This paper presents the implementation for a network structure of railway cars using a point to point communication. Most of network's representative specifications for a train are the FIP (Field Bus), MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus), CAN and WTB (Wire Train Bus) which is used by ALSOM, SIEMENS and BOMBADIER as major in this field. These networks in a physical layer use a multi-drop method, connected from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car of a train through a cable without any extra services such as an electric part, amplifier. However waveforms which is passed through a long cable in the multi-drop are distorted by a capacitance or resistance of the cable or environments. Also since using a cable connected directly from $1^{st}$ car to $n^{th}$ car, if over two trains make double head, it isn't easy to distinguish ID for each railway cars. So by using the point to point network per each car, it is able to reduce a distortion. Also since reducing distortion, this communication speed can be been higher and transmit and receive any packets more stably. Using proposed token in a packet, this can make ID per each railway car automatically. Finally experimental results show the good performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • A fuel metering unit using PWM(Pulse Width Modulated) solenoid valve has some advantages such as low cost, small size and simple structure. The mathematical model and its experimental rig of the fuel metering unit using PWM solenoid valve and CPDV(Constant Pressure Drop Valve) for miniature turbo engines were constructed. As the results of simulation, some major parameters which have dominant effects on the performance were found. And the experimental results verified the validity of established model by showing the good agreement with the numerical simulation results. Hence, this system modeling could be used effectively in the actual development of a PWM fuel control system.

  • Two dimensional MEDICI simulator is used to study the electrical characteristics of Dual Gate Emitter Switched Thyristor. The simulation is done in terms of the current-voltage characteristics with the variations of p-base impurity concentrations and current flow. Compared with the other power devices such as MOS Controlled Cascade Thyristor(MCCT), Conventional Emitter Switched Thyristor(C-EST) and Dual Channel Emitter Switched Thyristor(DC-EST), Dual Gate Emitter Switched Thyristor(DG-EST) shows to have tile better electrical characteristics, which is the high latch-up current density and low forward voltage-drop. The proposed DG-EST which has a non-planer u-base structure under the floating N+ emitter indicates to have the better characteristics of latch-up current and breakover voltage in spite of the same turn-off characteristics.

Development of the DCPD Method Based on Finite Element Analysis for Measuring Semi-Elliptical Surface Cracks (반타원 표면균열 형상측정을 위한 유한요소 전기장 해석에 기초한 직류전위차법의 개발)

  • One of major problems in analyzing failure mechanism of real components is the accurate measurement of crack size and shape. The DCPD(Direct Current Potential Drop) method has been widely used for the crack measurement of a structure and finite element analysis has been used for the derivation of calibration equations, which relates the potential drop with the crack depth. In this paper, finite element analyses were performed for semi-elliptical surface cracks with various crack shapes(a/c) and crack depths(a/t). As a result, a calibration equation has been derived for the measurement of a semi-elliptical surface crack in wide plates. Analytical results are compared with experimental results to evaluate the validity and the applicability of the derived equation. The proposed method is expected to provide efficient and accurate measurement of a surface crack during crack growth.

A shorted anode lateral MOS controlled thyristor with improved turn-off characteristics (턴-오프 특성이 향상된 Shorted Anode 수평형 MOS 제어 다이리스터)

  • A new lateral MOS controlled thyristor, named Shorted Anode LMCT(SA-LMCT), is proposed and analyzed by a two-dimensional device simulation. The device structure employs the implanted n+ layer which shorts the p+ anode together by a common metal electrode and provides a electron conduction path during turn-off period. The turn-off is achieved by not only diverting the hole current through the p+ cathode short but also providing the electron conduction path from the n-base into the n+ anode electrode. In addition, the modified shorted anode LMCT, which has an n+ short junction located inside the p+ anode junction, is also presented. It is shown that the modified SA-LMCT enjoys the advantage of no snap-back behavior in the forward characteristics with little sacrificing of the forward voltage drop. The simulation result shows that the turn-off times of SA-LMCT can be reduced by one-forth and the maximum controllable current density may be increased by 45 times at the expense of 0.34 V forward voltage drop as compared with conventional LMCT.   • Various characteristics of creek were not considered in designing creek for a long time. As result of that, a lot of reverse functions have been present in creek. In this study, a presentation of creek damage was investigated and differences river form creek design standards were analyzed. The damage of creeks accounts for 37.3 percent of total damage of rivers over the last 6 years. Besides, government should spend more money in restoring creeks. Considering that maintenance rate of domestic creeks is 37 %, counterplan should be prepared to prevent the damage of creeks. There are many kinds of causes in destroyed creek round. Specially, most damage was secondary that was caused by increase of flood elevation according to decrease in conveyance, local scour around structures, and failures because of inappropriate structures such as bridge, culvert, crossbeam, and drop in creek. These destroy types are in bend area. However, current creek design standards do not suggest solutions to prevent damages. Currently, there are no standards for bridge, and appropriate hight and width of culvert. Standards for crossbeam and drop could not reflect characteristics of creek. Therefore, it is need to improve the creek design standards for appropriate design and construction. That could improve flood control and prevention of creeks.
